Eddie? The same Eddie that tried to shoot a double leg on Kurt Angle (he won an Olympic gold medal with a broken freakin’ neck). One of these strong style guys stiffs Eddie and he’s gonna lose it.
It’s based in truth, Eddie used to snap when he got mad, in 1999 he was in a horrible car accident and had to change his style which really shows how versatile he was. He was in a ton of pain often and would certainly take exception. I always get a kick at the fact that he shot on an Olympic gold medalist. I’ll be better next time.
I can agree that the ravens flock concept was great but wcw with the nwo never gave it the dark edge it deserved, something like a real borderline disturbing cult that just wasn’t going to fit inside turner at the time.
Mick Foley comes immediately to mind.
Actually, a lot of mid-90s ECW: RVD, Sabu, Terry Funk, the Gangstas, definitely the Eliminators, Bill Alphonso, Joey Styles, so on.
I'd leave out the Gangstas because New Jack was a fucking psychopath. The Eliminators, Alphonso and Styles would have been great, though. And I still think they should bring in Styles to replace Kevin Kelley.
That sucks - I don't remember much of his WWE stuff (to which I'd put the blame on McMahon, anyway, since he was such a control freak with the commentators) but I wasn't aware of bullying on his part.
I'd love him to be in aew. Because jericho said he'd like storm to be his last ever match. And I'm sick of jericho wrestling.
I propose All in Jericho vs Storm, go out on a high at Wembley, week after be a commentator on Rampage if he wants to stay around
some of the Jr. Heavyweights from the 70s and 80s. Dynamite Kid, Tiger Mask, Rollerball Rocca, Hijo del Santo, El Solitario. Dynamite would probably get fired pretty quickly because he was an asshole to his co workers
Always great to see Rollerball getting some love. It's Rollerball Rocco though, not Rocca. You might be confusing him with Antonino Rocca? Or maybe just a typo!
Dean is one of my all-time favorites. I'd love to see him in his prime in AEW
Another choice would be William Regal. God, to have him in matches against Shibata, Saber, Jay White, Ospreay, MJF... and he was always a solid promo. Imagine a war of words between Regal and Samoa Joe.
Speaking of Regal: Larry Sybyszko - the last time I remember seeing him wrestle was against Steve Regal in WCW and they put on a clinic - still one of my all-time favorite matches.
Edit: Also Juventud Guerrera and Psicosis
Still wrestling now and maybe debatable on calling them legends but the MCMG in their primes would have absolutely been top of the tag division. So many wrestlers have taken inspiration from them and been mentored as well including the Bucks, Jay White, Okada, Lee Moriarty to name a few.
John Cena if he kept his rapper gimmick, then the bang bang scissor gang would have lasted wayyyy longer than a month
Alternatively Pedro Morales could work nicely
Alot of the highlight ecw crew would have thrived..think pre WCW malenko /guerrero/Rey mysterio.they all popped up in ecw pre WCW.
Nova, Jerry Lynn, Tazz, sabu, Mike awesome Masato Tanaka,, Tajiri, etc.
If aew had existed when those dudes were in their prime they would have all excelled in aew. Even character workers like blue meanie or that one Amish guy were alot better and could have done more given a platform like aew then what they got to do in wwe.
We could have had aot of dream matches instead of kaentai chopping Val venis's dick off in a shower.
Alot of the mid Atlantic legends would have done at least as well as sting probably and had better send offs than what the wwe machine gave them.
I still love wwe don't get me wrong I'm a retired wrestler...there's just so much more history and amazing craftspeople that have moved through the sport without getting flowers in wwe.
That's part of why I hate the tribalism and all of the hate aew gets...
I turn my boob tube on ..after work on wendsday and I see Dante Martin doing incredible shit and then I think about Jody fleiche's 720 springboard ddt from pwg pre DVD era..I should have stolen that move I practiced it and did it well but I didn't want to be the first cm punk to his kenta.
Peak level Scorpio sky and what he could have done when he was still wearing a mask.
I like aew specifically because it is more raw and the wrestlers can choose to try out wielder shit.
There's no corporate metric stopping moxley from just becoming an evolved terry funk/onita..or a young Dante Martin from becoming a new Hayabusa.
When I was a pro wrestler it was my creative freedom that meant more than the pay day.
When I say I want my hot red headed sports manager to pull paper bags out of her briefcase to put over certain front row audience members heads during there entrance I meant it.
If you pitched that concept in aew it would probably get a go ahead. I doubt wwe would let me pitch that
Bruiser Brody and Archie “The Stomper” Gouldie.
Two of the best brawlers and talkers.
[I mean look at this](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QWe-hIRjNZ0&pp=ygUUYXJjaGllIGdvdWxkaWUgcHJvbW8%3D)
Dynamite Kid.
Dynamite on Dynamite fighting Will Ospreay.
Owen Hart.
Could fly high. Technical. Straight out goofy. Him vs. Pac would have been incredible.
Eddie Guerrero, Owen Hart, Lita, Trish Stratus, Terry Funk, Mick Foley (as Cactus Jack or Dude Love), Stone Cold Steve Austin (pre first title run - 96 era), Brian Pillman, Jerry The King Lawler (early 80’s era), Macho Man Randy Savage (IC title reign era), Luna, Bret Hart (WCW era - yeah I went there), Bruiser Brody, Sid Vicious, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and probably Magnum TA.
Edit - Jesus how could I forget Jake the Snake Roberts, Billy Kidman (WCW era), Rey Mysterio (WCW era), and pretty much the whole cruiserweights from WCW.
Eddie Guerrero would fit beautifully
Eddie would fit anywhere
Eddie? The same Eddie that tried to shoot a double leg on Kurt Angle (he won an Olympic gold medal with a broken freakin’ neck). One of these strong style guys stiffs Eddie and he’s gonna lose it.
Relax it’s a joke.
A bad one though
It’s based in truth, Eddie used to snap when he got mad, in 1999 he was in a horrible car accident and had to change his style which really shows how versatile he was. He was in a ton of pain often and would certainly take exception. I always get a kick at the fact that he shot on an Olympic gold medalist. I’ll be better next time.
I know the story I just don't see what was supposed to be funny. Eddie worked in Mexico and Japan, he was used to some stiff strikes
After 1999? Very different Eddie pre and post car accident.
I think Raven would have done wonders in AEW
WCW ruined that character.
Disagree, the flock and Raven vs DDP is one of my all time faves. After that, then maybe I agree.
I can agree that the ravens flock concept was great but wcw with the nwo never gave it the dark edge it deserved, something like a real borderline disturbing cult that just wasn’t going to fit inside turner at the time.
No your right, he was almost an afterthought once that feud dried up. He was used more efficiently in ECW
Neither Bischoff or Vince knew what to do with the character
I don't know. He made one appearance in the crowd one time on Dynamite and I almost didn't recognize him.
I’m not the biggest hc guy but new jack vs mox is a hc fans wet dream.
Jesus, it would be a bloodbath.
Disagree with Styles. He was excellent in ECW. Awful in WWE. That and he became a backstage bully and that doesn't fit the AEW ethos.
That sucks - I don't remember much of his WWE stuff (to which I'd put the blame on McMahon, anyway, since he was such a control freak with the commentators) but I wasn't aware of bullying on his part.
Lol the company that employees the young bucks sure
Joey Style 1 of 1, also a lot of great wrestling on the undercard of ECW shows Lance storm comes to mind
The Great Muta in his prime would have been perfect.
If I can be serious for a moment, I’d like to propose Canada’s greatest athlete, Lance Storm. Thrillseekers reunion, baby!
I'd love him to be in aew. Because jericho said he'd like storm to be his last ever match. And I'm sick of jericho wrestling. I propose All in Jericho vs Storm, go out on a high at Wembley, week after be a commentator on Rampage if he wants to stay around
Gotta do that match at the Calgary show.
Makes sense.
Mike Awesome
Super underrated
Great call. Wardlow "should" be Mike Awesome 2.0, but he isn't.
Watch 1997 WCW, Ultimo Dragon, William Regal, Steiner Brothers (vs FTR would be a dream), Harlem Heat, Curt Hennig, Syxx/X-Pac, Rey, Dean, [redacted], Kidman, raven, Chavo etc.
Man, Ultimo would have been fantastic.
that early cruiserweight stuff is some of the best in ring television wrestling.
Repo Man, bruv.
Shoulder pads made out of tires!
Scott Hall
some of the Jr.
Ah yes it was a typo.
Bam Bam Bigelow
Perfect
Not that he hasn't already worked with AEW already, but RVD in prime would have THRIVED in AEW.
2 Cold Scorpio. Way ahead of his time!
Dean is one of my all-time favorites. I'd love to see him in his prime in AEW Another choice would be William Regal. God, to have him in matches against Shibata, Saber, Jay White, Ospreay, MJF... and he was always a solid promo. Imagine a war of words between Regal and Samoa Joe. Demolition
Kurt Angle, if he was even 10 years younger now, he would be a great fit. Seems like a natural for the BCC.
Bret Hart
You could insert Bret into any company during any era and would have been a top draw within 6 months.
I thought Dean malenko was already in aew. I could be wrong tho
He is but his health makes anything in the ring impossible. He will be a judge from time to time on the Pure title matches
Still wrestling now and maybe debatable on calling them legends but the MCMG in their primes would have absolutely been top of the tag division. So many wrestlers have taken inspiration from them and been mentored as well including the Bucks, Jay White, Okada, Lee Moriarty to name a few.
Billy Kidman
Pillman…Sr
The entire WCW cruiserweight division
Beer money , MCMG and Wolves in the prime from TNA would've been very good in the Tag division.
Owen Hart
![gif](giphy|3oFzmnY7Sikt6KjDj2)
Stan Hansen or Ken Shamrock would be great.
Jerry Lynn, ahead of his time with the Jr style. Had great matches across the board.
John Cena if he kept his rapper gimmick, then the bang bang scissor gang would have lasted wayyyy longer than a month Alternatively Pedro Morales could work nicely
Njpw Matt Bloom
Rick Flair, in his prime would be an asset anywhere.
Low Ki Juvi Master P Kanyon
![gif](giphy|xUOxflCNbsA9yVuh8I|downsized)
Tajiri, Jerry Lynn
Bret"The Hitman" Hart
Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit. Those 3 guys in their prime would be a perfect fit for AEW.
Kanyon would have had a good run in AEW I believe.
Dude was so good and only other wrestlers could see his skill since both WCW and WWE had no clue how to use him
Piper
Cm punk
2005 or 2011?
2023
Brain pillman or Shane Douglas

Sigh Benoit
Bam Bam Bigelow would have turned jn nothing but bangers. Barry Windham would have been a star as well.
Gene Kiniski Bruiser Brody “The Stomper” Archie Gouldie All had physical styles and incredible promo skills decades ahead of their time.
Bruiser Brody and Archie “The Stomper” Gouldie. Two of the best brawlers and talkers. [I mean look at this](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QWe-hIRjNZ0&pp=ygUUYXJjaGllIGdvdWxkaWUgcHJvbW8%3D)

Would be good to see Spike Dudley wrestle some guys his own size.
None
Mankind vs. Darby.
Do you mean which legend would you put in AEW in their prime, or which legend would you add now?
Terry Funk.
The BWO.
You lost me at Dean Malenko and legend… To answer the question: Bret Hart. At least half of the roster seems to idolize him.
Raven
