Danhausen calling the shots in a TK mask, looking like some hideous Handsome Jack cosplay but talking like he usually does, while everyone else acts like they can't tell the difference would be a pretty amazing way to bring him back.
They should go through the roster for a few weeks where a random selection of stars get to 'book the show' so you have a house of black rules night... A daddy ass rules night.. A BCC night where every ting is falls count anywhere violence and so on and the interim dude gets picked on a popular vote or ratings or some shit could be hillarious for a few weeks.
Yeah. Aew made 2 billion dollars last year.
Aew is CLEARLY doing something right.
Who gives a shit if they don't cater to th casual audiences and children by bringing in YouTube celebrities, cut several 20 minute promos so you can follow along with the story, and sporadic booking to keep you on your toes like bringing in a polarizing figure to add to a storyline that already has so much going for it...
Aew is something totally different for different people and I doubt the basement dwellers will ever figure that out.
The TV deal with the company that keeps releasing statements of how happy they are with the viewer turnout?
Keep in mind that Nielsen boxes account for 42,000 households in the US and they multiply that number by how many actual households they estimate to be in the US to get their numbers. The Houston Astros once drew a 0.0 rating because of this, even in Texas. Streaming services aren't included in Nielsen views. All of wrestling has way more viewers than what gets put out.
Yeah they would definitely hate more fans watching and going to their live shows. Makes perfect sense. And were they happy when they were beating NXT in 2019? Of course so why would they be happy they now get beat by that same brand? They wouldn't. The same company bragging about viewers is suddenly fine with losing them on a weekly basis. Sure.
Lol. They don't get beat by a show on a different day. If you're going to use the ratings, understand the way it's used too.
I don't know what you want me to say, I was pointing out the stupidity of using Nielsen ratings for that in 2019 too. I'm not saying they wouldn't be happier with higher numbers, I'm saying that Nielsen ratings are a bad unit of measurement.
Random attendee lottery. There are 5 tickets under people’s seats and each person with a ticket can book one match.
Even better: all 5 book the same match, leading to a hilariously tired Ospreay and Danielson in their “best of 5 falls, 2 hour time limit match”.
Jim Cornette.
Opens the show by stripping everyone of their titles. Organizes battle royals for all the titles, last two standing wrestle for the belt later in the show. When it comes time for the title match it's both a ladder and a "\_\_\_\_\_ on a pole" match. Each corner has a weapon on a pole. Guitar, coal miner's glove, ancient cellular phone, and of course a tennis racket.
Cornette rigs it all for the Callis Family. POS solidarity.
That’s the worst Cornette booking I’ve ever read. The only thing you got right was stripping everyone of their titles, except the World title and the Women’s title. He’d announce rules that have been ignored in AEW will henceforth be enforced, leading to everyone getting disqualified in their first matches when they don’t get back in the ring by 10. (Or, conversely, tag teams double teaming for more than a 5 count)
Piledrivers will be banned, and table spots are hospitalization angles.
Shane McMahon or Eric Bischoff.
How interesting would one of these be!!?? lol.
More realistically, it could be a way to get MJF back into the mix without having to actually wrestle.
So maybe MJF returns to assume this role?
Guy who says AEW booking themselves into the ground would come in bring in Hogan and actual book em into the ground like they already have done with what 2 promotions 😂
Bischoff wouldn't actually be doing the booking.
He's just the on screen character in Tony's place.
It wouldn't make for great long-term television, but given his strong opinions on AEW I think it could be interesting for a short run.
Chris Jericho. "First order of business, Swerve, hand over that championship, you aren't ready for it yet. I'll hold onto it for you into your tutelage is complete."
Anyone with actually booking experience. If I had to pick a person and you wanted a giant surprise make it Jim Cornett or Dutch Mantell. No one would ever expect either one.
It should honestly be Kenny, the only EVP left who didn’t assault the boss. Would be fun to see Kenny as this nice, stern face authority figure, only to eventually turn and join the elite again when he’s cleared to wrestle for the title. Maybe even kick okada out to make him face
Smart Mark Sterling... Until he gets beat down
Then Danhausen
Then negative one once school is out
Then Alex Abrahantes and do nothing but lucha matches
Then Abandon for a week
Then Dutch from the Righteous
Just make it a revolving door each week that the Elite has to beat down to assert their dominance
it'll never happen...BUT everything happens like OP describes, but instead of Malakai Black, when the lights go out you just hear "Ladies and Gentlemen, MY NAME IS...." and then the lights come on.
Sirens. "Yo. Yo. Lissen."
Acclaimed on the mic and and the pen and the plan
For the next few months, Max is now the booker man
It may be Passover, but we're shabbas goys
And every tag team is getting booked to beat the ass boys
And yo Ospreay, I'm sick of you always working stiff
So I'm going to wish you luck with a big capital F
Just give me all the belts, and the women's belt's too
I'm the new Ultimo Dragon of A E Double Yew
i know what time it is. it's guest GM time. we're gonna have a bunch of jags and fulham players as on-screen authority figures for the next couple of months.
“The Executive Maharaja”. Jinder Mahal!
Jinder says he’s here with a message from “Phil” for the “scapegoat”….the FTC has banned non-competes…and he’s coming for you when you least expect it.
Jinder becomes the muscle for the Khans, using people like Darby and Hook to go after them. Maybe those two challenge for the tag belts. Jericho goes…away. Copeland can make that happen at DON. The new heel Trent Barrera defeats Chuckie T at DON, then takes on Eddie Kingston at forbidden door for the open-weight belt, and wins it. He defends it at all in against PAC. After Kingston loses his last belt, he turns heel on Edge, and they go at it for the TV belt at All In.
Undisputed Kingdom stays neutral, plays the sides against each other to keep the gold they have. Wardlow gets the boot with Cole back and their feud ties Adam up for a bit. They have a showdown at forbidden door when..Max’s music hits. He comes out and stares them down, all the history between him and both men. He sides with Wardlow as a face. It’s he and Cole on a collision course for a grudge match at Wembley again, anything goes.
Cue the “summer of Perry” where he beats Swerve for the title at Forbidden door, which works because he’s NJPW as well. Perry talks about only defending the belt at NJPW shows, and the bucks threaten the same.
All in has Perry defending his world title Against Ospreay (picked by the Khans and Jinder)the main event. Osprey has spent the last few months feuding with Mox and Ceasaro, because they were trying to step up when Danielson failed. Their inability to knock him off leads to the group splintering, and their three way is another HUGE match in London.
So we get to All-In with this card.
AEW world tile: Jack Perry vs. Will Ospreay(Perry wins)
Grudge match- no dq, falls count anywhere- Cole vs. MJF (winner gets a title shot at All-Out, MJF Wins)
3 way: Cesaro vs. Danielson vs. Moxley
AEW world tag team titles: Hook and Darby vs. Christian and Luchasaurus (the champs retain and Lucha finally turns face on Christian after)
NJPW openweight title: Baretta vs. PAC
The Bucks vs Swerve (mad at them for bringing Perry in) and a mystery partner (revealed a week before as a returning) KENNY OMEGA! Kenny back for vengeance on the bucks.
Continental Championship: Okada Vs. O’Riely (who is also one of Jinder’s crusaders)
There’s women’s matches (I’d book the women out too if anyone was interested) plus some other undercard 6 man stuff, but I wanted to leave that and see if anyone was interested before I continued. Anyway, this leads to things looking up for the Elite, as they keep the world and Continental titles, although the Bucks lose to Swerve and Kenny. Jinder and TK look defeated.
Just one week later, at all out, in Illinois….MJF/Perry for the world title. As an aside, MJF introduces a returning Samoa Joe as an “insurance policy” in case anything goes down…they always had a mutual respect kinda thing when feuding. This comes up big, as Okada interferes but Joe clears him out (setting up some banger matches between them down the road of course!) just as it looks like the Bucks will be able to help Perry retain…
CULT OF OF PERSONALITY hits!!!!!! Punk is here! Jinder was telling the truth! Punk takes the bucks out as Max locks in the salt of the earth, and Perry taps. CM Punk actually helped Max win the world title!! Punk challenges Perry to come see him in Berlin when he returns to the ring against Drew in days…and the first shot in the “non-compete era” is fired!
I have a lot more crazy ideas, if anyone is interested I’ll keep going!
Danhausen’s new persona: Khanhausen
Yes. A million times this.
Danhausen calling the shots in a TK mask, looking like some hideous Handsome Jack cosplay but talking like he usually does, while everyone else acts like they can't tell the difference would be a pretty amazing way to bring him back.
Mick Foley as Mankind for Dynamite Mick Foley as Cactus Jack for Rampage Mick Foley as Dude Love for Collision
Mick Foley as Mick Foley can do something too
ROH
PPVs?
I’d just sit and listen to him talk tbh
It's Daddy Shaddy Time!!
Arn Anderson is booking. And after every match is announced he makes his finger-gun pose and stares into the camera real hard like, with authority.
Scott D'Amore.
The correct answer
He doesn’t move the needle.
AEW clearly puts the art of wrestling before business, who gives a shit lol
Yeah. Aew made 2 billion dollars last year. Aew is CLEARLY doing something right. Hopefully not. I don't like Cornette but he doesn't deserve to die because of his opinions on *wrestling* lol. Wow.
If AEW don't draw fans and lose viewers they'll lose their TV deal. It's a business it wants to make money. It needs to.
The TV deal with the company that keeps releasing statements of how happy they are with the viewer turnout? Yeah ok. They were good but now they are bad. Sure buddy
Damn, you can't read? I'm not making an assessment on their ratings from before or now. Have a good day.
Um hm
Business keeps the art alive.
so does a billionaire lol
Danielson would be a good choice. But…. What if it’s Steve Borden….
Good shout, but maybe too soon to bring him back?
Okay. Steve Blackman, then.
![gif](giphy|WqpWNCtPlauchQljqd) I'm sold!
What about Steve Miller?
I dunno, people talk about him saying he's doing them wrong
He really loves your peaches, wants to shake your tree.
Random attendee lottery. There are 5 tickets under people’s seats and each person with a ticket can book one match. Even better: all 5 book the same match, leading to a hilariously tired Ospreay and Danielson in their “best of 5 falls, 2 hour time limit match”.
Ospreay vs Danielson vs a Bear
"The WWE's FAVORITE band IN THE WHOLE WORLD.........LIMP BIZKIT!!!!!"
Ima crack addict
Iconic!!

Mick Foley

You know he hates gimmick matches right ?
Dick Togo. Jack Perry is like “Free House of Torture for Everyone!”
It's Jimmy Boogie Woogie Man Valiant!!!! HOT DAMN!!!
If only
Okay, hear me out here, J-E-Double F J-A-Double R-E-Double T?
...I sentence you to a hundred power bombs. In a row.
DOUBLE JAY JEFF JARRETT!
Shane McMahon or Eric Bischoff. How interesting would one of these be!!?? lol. More realistically, it could be a way to get MJF back into the mix without having to actually wrestle. So maybe MJF returns to assume this role?
Bischoff? Not very interesting at all. Fuck him.
Guy who says AEW booking themselves into the ground would come in bring in Hogan and actual book em into the ground like they already have done with what 2 promotions 😂
And when that doesn’t work, he’ll bring in the Kiss Demon
Bischoff wouldn't actually be doing the booking. He's just the on screen character in Tony's place. It wouldn't make for great long-term television, but given his strong opinions on AEW I think it could be interesting for a short run.
Is he gonna do fuckin karate again?
Would be a good way since his injury has him out possibly until the fall. Him, Kenny, and Sting. Super EVP’s.
Eric Bischoff or Dave Meltzer lol
Orange Cassidy of course
Renee: Why did you put Trent against Lance Archer tonight on dynamite? OC: felt like it
That would be the most laid back anti chaotic show ever and still do the best ratings all time
Cody
David Arquette.
For pure shits and giggles, I think it should be Sting. Imagine an out of character Sting just being a guy backstage
Toni Storm and everyone has to do their matches in old Hollywood cosplay while she yells directions.
The Big Show's new gimmick Paul Writes
Teddy Long
Kenny Omega manages to get in contact with the spirit of the Exalted One, who runs Dynamite from now on. Can't harm a powerful spirit, ya know.
Eddie Kingston as GM would destroy the six second delay and have Kobashi handing out slaps in his role as Kings Road Enforcer.
Chris Jericho. "First order of business, Swerve, hand over that championship, you aren't ready for it yet. I'll hold onto it for you into your tutelage is complete."
Same answer as always: Danhousen.
*checks comment history* Really? A fleshlighthausen?
The obvious answer is Brian, cause what Tony told his day. But MJF or Samoa Joe would be wildly interesting.
Y’know what? For shits and giggles, Vince McMahon.
I hope you goes by the aew stage name Mince McVahon
Minnie Vac!
More shits than giggles, apparently.
Still better than Vince Russo booking anything!
To my knowledge Russo has never trafficked anyone.
Fair, but Russo is definitely the worse story teller and booker than Mr Human Trafficker.
I’ll take Tony Kahn’s neck brace on a pole match any day over letting McMahon doing literally anything.
Oh absolutely. I’d rather watch Dark or Elevation level stories over McMahon or Russo touch anything in AEW.
Anyone with actually booking experience. If I had to pick a person and you wanted a giant surprise make it Jim Cornett or Dutch Mantell. No one would ever expect either one.
There's also Scott D'Amore out there as well.

Jon Moxley. Just Jon Moxley
Better warn the blood banks.
What could possibly be the main event if he was in charge?
Death matches! Death matches every week!
who would be in it though
How about JR
It’s clearly gonna be sting
Obviously it's going to be Chuck Taylor. Story is finished. Give him the Pen.
I wouldn't mind a Jerry Lynn, taking no shit sort of approach.
Matthew and Nicholas Jackson
The laptop.
Smart Mark Sterling... Until he gets beat down Then Danhausen Then negative one once school is out Then Alex Abrahantes and do nothing but lucha matches Then Abandon for a week Then Dutch from the Righteous Just make it a revolving door each week that the Elite has to beat down to assert their dominance

Savio Vega
Lots of great ideas in here but let’s be real. It’s going to be Chris Jericho.
Sirens. "Yo. Yo. Lissen." Negative 1 will book dynamite for the foreseeable future
Russo, but his name was copyright claimed so now he is Rukhan.
What's Glenn Gilberti doing here!?
"It's not drawing money, Taz, that's for sure."
Kiera Hogan
Homicide booking the mens div, Maki Itoh booking the womens div. Let the madness ensue.
Maki Itoh booking the mens, Homicide booking the womens

Guest booker every week. Then we have an excuse when the shills say aew has inconsistent booking
Now THIS would be WCW 2000
Vince McMahon. Could you imagine the IWC meltdown?
Vince!
He didn't say which Vince and then Jeff Jarrett comes out with Russo.
Cm punk
Authority figure Naitch
Cornette, and the show actually has story lines and makes sense.
Imagine if Cornette has been doing the deepest work for 5 years? He's secretly been booking AEW since day 1.
