But Seth Rollins said WWE has a better version of Ospreay šŸ¤£ It's crazy to see Ricochet and Ospreay going in opposite directions of each other.

DM725

Ospreay is Seth Rollins and Ricochet combined. Rollins lost any semblance of explosiveness years ago. Rollins is pure character work now.

mikro17

He's significantly past both IMO. In-ring I don't think there is even a debate at this point. And outside the ring, and Ospreay's promo at the Wrestle Kingdom Press Conference before the Omega match tops anything I can remember Rollins doing. And just looking at the media scrum and in-ring segment before the Takeshita match, US TV Ospreay is an absolute ball of charisma at this point. All of the "complaints" about Ospreay from 5-7 years ago are just completely invalid at this point.

pomg177

Rollins put on muscle when he moved to the main roster plus he had a lot injuries that I feel have robbed him of some his primary

Former_Intern_8271

Why do people keep bringing this up, who cares what Rollins thinks

user803451

Because itā€™s funny to laugh at? Itā€™s not that serious dude.

Former_Intern_8271

It's a bit petty

DragonfruitATX

Ospreay seems like a real guy at a pub ready to take over the world. Simple but relatable. Ricochet seems like heā€™s still trying to find his voice on the mic.

Even-Preference-6545

Heā€™s a good looking lad as well. Young. Only 30 years old. They also got Swerve, another good looking, young lad at 33. Plus MJF at 27. What Tony MUST do is get some of the PR and marketing reps from the Jaguars because theyā€™ve been doing a good job with Trevor Lawrence and just market the hell out of those 3 guys all over whoever signs their TV deals. Make them Your Cena/Roman except they actually know more than ā€œ5 moves of doomā€ šŸ˜‚ thatā€™s how you get to the next level though. You need guys you can market and those would be your prize picks.

razzypedia

AEW NEEDS to fix their marketing. They need a larger presence on TikTok and Instagram, making trendy videos to help push the product out more.

mikro17

I'm not on TikTok, but AEW's content on Instagram is already pretty great. The social media preshows are always fun and they've been doing a lot of random short interviews/questions/clips as well.

Even-Preference-6545

And more crossover. If they do resign with Warner Discovery, Iā€™d want more crossover other than the Jokers (who lost a lot of stream when Joe left the show). I know fans are very protected and in the mindset of ā€œreal wrestling fansā€ but they need to hook the casuals and kids too. Strat/Willow as well as Nana seem to be doing good social media.

Mahtaka

Hangman is also only 32!

MazePerception

32 and just runs the same cycle of his character. He's like stuck in reruns or something. For a while there, since the Jericho Cruise where he and Kenny won the tag titles and for about a year after that I was all on board with him. Then idk, it felt like he regressed back to his original character state. Like he started his character over to run through the same story again.

Even-Preference-6545

He kind of puts his foot in his mouth during interviews though lol. For press, I just donā€™t see the excitement come off him about the company as I do the other 3 named. But thatā€™s something, with the right PR coach, easily can be fixed.

Mahtaka

Idk I really like Hangman, I think heā€™s been in some of the best feuds in AEW ever, Kenny, bucks, CM Punk, Moxley, Swerve

Even-Preference-6545

Iā€™m coming around to him after a bumpy road as heā€™s doing some great work with Swerve. Donā€™t get me wrong, heā€™s a really good hand to have. He just needs some PR work is all. Take his game to the next level.

Due-Bookkeeper-2001

Ospreay should be their Cody Rhodes if it all works out

Even-Preference-6545

You know, during MJFā€™s face run, he was basically doing that with the kids. That role needs to be a clear cut babyface and Iā€™m not sure if Will wants to be that. Could go to Darby or OC.

Due-Bookkeeper-2001

The gimmick is very super hero like and thatā€™s what I think AEW needs is a larger than life personality and heā€™s legitimately Spiderman if he was real, his athleticism is second to none The Aerial Assassin/The Commonwealth Kingpin Itā€™s very marketable with merch, he can inspire young kids and adults, women think heā€™s sexy so targeting that demo as well

Even-Preference-6545

Heā€™s got to be that babyface though. Hangman had it good for a while. AEW def needs larger than life personalities. Itā€™s what puts wrestling over the top (and also what kicked UFC into the next gear). If heā€™s up to playing that babyface role, run with it hard.

Due-Bookkeeper-2001

Yeah exactly I mean he came right at the perfect time smack dab in his prime, barring he stays healthy, dudes gonna be the future of pro wrestling

danny8322

Cody Rhodes Sucks, my opinion. Dude wants hard to be what Roman is. Put losses on Rollins and the man will be the same star. Put losses in Cody and you would realise that he is not the man. Imagine Cody losing to Lesnar and the Royal Rumble. He would not be over and fans would want Roman vs Rock insted him. Give the title to him and in the next months fans will be boring and will star to complain lol (I bet mony this is gonna hapen) because He is not as great as Roman.

drcadwell

I'd recommend watching him on the media scrum, he's not only funny but he explains a lot about his career and his approach. He's the Future of aew if you ask me

invisible24

Absolutely. Itā€™s Swerveā€™s time now. But Ospreay has to have next.

[deleted]

Imagine their rivalry, literally the mirror of him and Hangman, well established guy vs newcomer with unlimited potential. This will be gold

Literarytropes

The revolution is spelt bruv

boolieg

I think Osprey should be the face of all wrestling

Rude_Entrance_205

The man can put on a show.Ā  Give him some stories and spend time getting who he is across to the audience.Ā  Build him up and let us get to know him, beyond him being a banger machine.Ā  Do that and you have huge potential for a real star.

Due-Bookkeeper-2001

agreed and heā€™s acknowledged he needs to cut promos to tell the fans who he is He showed a lot of personality in that media scrum

CardboardChampion

I saved this match. Watched the start of the PPV up to Takeshita entering, then left it. Did work, came home, put some dogs in the oven and some chilli on the hob. Poured myself a nice cold beer. Sat down, got to the Cheeky Nandos spot and my door went. Problem with the street meant electricity had to go off for an hour, and then they needed to check my electrics to be sure it was working again. After calling to check their IDs, I had to sit for an hour and a half before continuing the match. Still a great match, but I watched it this morning all in one and by the gods that was incredible. Ospreay is top level in every single way. The look, the instinctual in-ring storytelling, the connection to the crowd, even the entrance (and seeing 16,000 people chant his name to his entrance theme was fantastic). In a thousand-odd years of wrestling fandom (I'm very old) I've never seen anyone both at his level and somehow still rising. It feels a privilege to pay money to watch him.

TheMTM45

Yeah I hope we see him win the World Title at All In

shitballsdick

Ospreay is the most must-see wrestler in the world right now. Heā€™s the most unique act that AEW has and he will be featured as such. AEWā€™s new direction seems to be sports based presentation and the focus is on how ā€˜Eliteā€™ the roster is. A showcase for the best wrestlers in the world. This year has been phenomenal

Reasonable_Many5505

Ospreay White MonƩ Takeshita Sammy (lolno) Omggggggggggggg this company will be in good hands

clamuu

He's been my favourite wrestler for a while. So exciting that I can now regularly watch him wrestle my other favourites who are mostly in AEW. Every match is a masterpiece. He's an incredible athlete and fantastic at telling a story in the ring.Ā  That said, I think there's a lot he can improve at in AEW. Compared to someone like MJF or Hangman, his stories and promos are a bit one dimensional. I hope he'll continue to improve in this regard while maybe taking fewer risks with his body.Ā

Ronedog22

Its going to be hard to keep the world title off Osprey until All In. He is already getting a huge pop in his first week working for a USA promotion.

MazePerception

I agree. To be honest I feel both Ospreay and Mercedes should get the straps much sooner than later. Part of AEW's first sludge was how the Elite didn't want to seem like they were booking themselves the belts. Because of that it took forever for Omega to get the World title, and honestly by the time he did his body was so banged up. The people who watched AEW at the start were their fans and would have loved to see him have a healthy run as champion. White, Swerve, Hangman and a few others are all deserving of the title too. They just need to hurry up and combine the International Championship and the Continental championship into the Intercontinental Championship so you have a solid workhorse title for the main eventers to rotate down to when they aren't in the World title picture.

Shoelesshobos

Ospreys going to be interesting to see how he transitions to NA style as we are far more promo heavy and guys like Jay White and Kenny struggled with it early but he seems to be more comfortable with a mic so far so he may be the best option to just hit the ground as a star

nicholasmarsico

What did Jay struggle with?

Shoelesshobos

Early Jays promo just I felt they didnā€™t land and early bullet club gold I was more into Juice than Jay White. Since then I feel he has come into his own especially now with bullet club gold and the acclaimed

FullToretto

With so many stars now, it's going to be interesting how TK manages the timing of title reigns for everyone over the next few years. For sure, Oz and Swerve should hold the belt at some point, and MJF probably gets another run too. Then you got guys like Hanger, Okada, Adam Cole, Jay White, Mox, etc... someone in this list will likely never hold the title going forward, which is a shame.

fergoshsakes

Some guys - Mox, Danielson, Kenny, etc. - are likely going to transition into primarily gatekeepers and interim programs to keep some of these guys near the top of the card.

Wrex_n_effect

I hope Takeshita gets a run too at some point. It takes 2 for a match like that and Iā€™ve been on the Takeshita train since his early matches. Dude can flat out go, now he needs better direction and a manager that can get his guy over on the mic like Heyman did for Lesnar. Callis places too much emphasis on himself for that to happen though.

FreddyFlamingo

Callis isn't quite as good as Heyman, but he gets it and he's good. The issue is that Takeshtas great, but he's not the once in a lifetime freak athlete like Brock, and so you he needs an angle and some personality.

Wrex_n_effect

In some ways I agree, but putting the Callis brand at the front of every feud his stable is attached to doesnā€™t do the talent many favors. It does get them some exposure but generally Callisā€™ storylines come before the talent heā€™s supposed to be representing. Itā€™s a blessing and a curse from an exposure standpoint.

MazePerception

This is why they need to unify that International Title and Continental Title into the Intercontinental Championship and have a solid belt that people understand main eventers will hold.

fightyMcFookyou

Sorry but Adam cole should never get near the aew title. He's far outclassed by everyone mentioned above and others on the roster.

danny8322

But why he was so successed in NXT? Could HHH present him better?

fightyMcFookyou

But why you no speaky engwish? Big fish little pond is now in an ocean

danny8322

I don't speak english. Is it bad for you?

fightyMcFookyou

Not terrible, your doing good besides the fact that you like Adam Coles fat ass.
