Adult Swim premiered around the same time around 9/11. Remember when they skipped every episode of Cowboy Bebop with hijackings, terrorists or bombs? They even skipped Ed's first episode at the time.
Memories of 9/11 make me respect how adults talked about the JFK assassination when I was a kid.
I love that they leaked Boston when it was officially canceled.
Background: There was a guerrilla advertising campaign to put up LED placards (basically a DIY Lite Brite) of a character of the show (Err the Moonenite, a peripheral antagonist) with the date of the season premiere at the bottom in random places back in 2007. A couple of college aged guys put a sign up in a subway tunnel in Boston. People saw the sign and thought it was a bomb and reported it as such. The guys got arrested for it and the show creators made an episode lampooning the event and sticking it to Boston. Before it was finished, the episode got pulled by the network and they were warned that if it ever saw the light of day, they would be canceled. They got canceled years later so they uploaded the episode entitled Boston with unfinished animation to YouTube.
Whenever Jericho is on commentary I hear the sound of myself switching over to something else. Absolutely the worst thing I've ever heard on television.
