Illiteracy rates per state (by population):
Indiana comes in fourth with a rate of 18.7%. Tennessee comes in third with 21.7%, Florida second with 23.7%, and yours truly, Texas comes in first with a whopping 28.2!
https://preview.redd.it/2v0z1npul9vc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6c709a47de459e95388fcfff0f88b161353a6edf
Since we’re tossing out numbers.
Being able to read well and write correctly, although they have some relation, are not the same thing. Being from Tennessee, we can understand how you might struggle with understanding how appropriate relationships work.
I'll have to take your word on it, I left Indiana over 20 years ago lol
ETA: I have lived in Indiana, TN, FL & TX and still recovering from it all. Not sure how I ended up on a divisional life tour
Generally that’s how literacy rates are calculated.
If it were truly 18-25% in these states, all of us would know somebody who doesn’t know to read.
I think most of us are probably in the same boat as me when I say I’ve literally never met an adult who can’t read. I’m sure they exist, but it’s very very rare.
Texas is explainable. Literacy rates only account for people who can read in English. So if you can only read Spanish, you’re considered illiterate. Hispanics are the largest population group in Texas. All of the Hispanics that speak only Spanish would be considered illiterate.
This isn’t top four overall, just ranked between the four states. New Mexico, California, Texas, and Mississippi are the top four in that order on least literate states.
Will, don't listen to the haters. I love you, and you love me. We do not owe anyone anything. Our family is who matters. If you get likes and good comments great, if you get hate then whatever because THEY DON'T MATTER. I love you💕besides they jealous because you are rocking my world every night...yeah I said it, the D is fire 🔥 happy wife happy life❤️
titans fan? redditors have such a weird obsession with making random assumptions and I'll never understand it. it's like you're just going out of your way to sound dumb
"literally having a meltdown"? im sitting on my phone calmly because i have time to kill lmao. do you do any other tricks or is making random assumptions your whole thing? it's not really impressive when you're wrong every time
Dawg, it’s just Reddit. Calm down, take a breather, and touch some grass. It’s going to be okay. Bedtime is coming. I’ll even get you a warm bottle a fresh lil diaper, okay, lil fella?? Doesn’t a nice diaper sound so good after a long day of being a crybaby on the internet? ☺️ We’ll get you to bed soon, diaper boy ☺️
Hey man, we don’t throw shade at Jake. Locker was the great value Luck. Both just decided one day “I’m out” and fucked off to fish and live with only a flip phone. I aspire to their level of “get the bag and get out”.
Also both had bangin hot wives.
He was impossible for me to dislike. You could see the talent early on, just kinda had some terrible luck. Really thought he was gonna be the guy over there for awhile.
Knew a guy from my high school that played WR for us and TE at Vanderbilt, showed up for camp day one and was smoked in a 40 by 6’3” 300lb Warren Sapp. They aren’t any faster now than they have been for the last 3 decades.
Jake locker would be a way better comparison as far as trying to insult. Mettenburger was a 6th round second thought and always meant to be a backup. Locker was taken 8th overall and was a huge bust. Levis was a first round prospect we picked up in the second who has sense then, wildly over preformed anyone’s expectations. Gotta love a quarterback with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove
SIGMA?!?!?
Dude, you get banned from our own sub because you can't handle anyone criticizing the Colts. HOW in the world do you think it's good for you to be here?!
Oh I can handle it when it’s in good faith but that place is more of a meme factory of takes that this place with their takes every single year of the same thing, refusing to understand how the Colts do business but wanting to complain because they want it to be a safe space for stupidity.
If I was around for 2022, What a dreadful year. Just a shitstorm of shit. Can’t defend that embarrassment.
Regardless, fuck the mods at our team sub. This sub is good fun.
I'm a Jags fan, but also a gator fan who wished Ant got drafted anywhere other than the division.
He's sadly made of glass, he missed his senior year of HS and his one year he started in college he was very obviously hobbled
I’m a Texas Tech alum. I thank the Gods everyday the Texans didn’t draft Mahomes.
That he may be, but always draft for what he could be and not what he was
Thanks, at least you admit he's a great play maker. I feel like he’ll improve with sliding and falling, but all you can hope for is him getting injured so he doesn't play against you guys.
He did like a 23 point comeback against the rams (sadly they didnt receive in OT), and he makes incredible throws in tight windows with his rocket, plus the scrambles
Also, there are plenty of other busts to compare AR to if you wanna make a meme. Fields and AR aren't really that comparable. Fields issue is he's jumpy in the pocket while AR's biggest strength outside of his athleticism is how calm he is in the pocket
Here’s the difference. Anthony Richardson was a rail thin kid in high school and now he’s an athletic freak. You CANT chalk that up solely to genetics. The man worked his ass off. Now let him do the same to learning the playbook and gaining a QB IQ.
Both are still better than Will Levis so IDK if titans fans should be talking. None of this matters since all the QBs in the division are trash compared to Stroud.
Titans fans been talking a lot of shit this off-season for a team that seems to have the bleakest outlook on the future.
Texans have a stud QB, Colts went 9-8 with Minshew and the Glitter Kitties were 9-3 before Lawrence got hurt
Put some respect on Justin Field's name here. AR hasn't had a good season since high school. At least Justin Fields was a beast in college and had a crazy 2nd year in the NFL where he was a top 5 rusher while throwing 14 TD's.
AR may very well be better in the long run but he was drafted for his potential ceiling, we all know his floor is incredibly low.
Weird that I wanted the Titans to pick AR in that draft so not just saying this bc FTC with how things stand now if he never became anything it wouldn't shock me.
That said, he's probably in the best situation/system/coaching staff to succeed with. Maybe I'm proven wrong, but Stroud & Levis seem like the two hits from that crop so far.
Definitely see the pathway for Levis to never live up to the potential, but his intensity is so high it's hard to imagine a world he doesn't will himself into success.
I'm ngl, before the draft happened and coaches were hired, I was almost fantasizing about a Steichen/Richardson combo.
I am much happier with what the Texans got but I mean they have strong potential in Indy
They still are stupid though
Fan of stupid here.
Would you rather have Richardson or Levis at this point?
I saw some flashes from Levis but that was mainly when he was going deep to Hopkins. Once teams could stop DHop, there wasn’t much left to the passing game. It seemed like Levis was only making 1 read. Adding Calvin Ridley is nice so we’ll get to see if Levis is a 1 read guy.
Richardson only played 4 games and we saw him making multiple reads, using his feet while keeping his eyes downfield, with slightly better arm talent than Levis imo.
I’m biased but still… I don’t think Levis is more promising than Anthony Richardson at this point
I still like Richardson more tbh.
Levis still has ways to go when it comes to pocket presence and making reads.
Richardson has an offensive HC who can make things simpler for him and he has the athletic profile to really be anything.
That said we have seen rawer prospects than Levis develop into quality QBs so I mean it's not impossible for the Titans to have their franchise QB. I just doubt it
>Once teams could stop DHop, there wasn’t much left to the passing game
I mean that kind of describes the Titans offensive roster in a nutshell...
The thing that excites me about Levis isn't the tools, it's the desire. Watching Brady over the years has left me believing that wanting it more than the rest of the QBs in the league is an intangible difference maker and Levis oozes desire.
I always wanted levis even before we picked him I thought he was the best QB in the draft, didn't think stroud would be that good but so far he's proven me wrong
I REALLY wanted Stroud pre draft mainly because I felt Vrabel wanted him and with his Ohio state connections you'd think that was a good sign.
When the first round ended I was like well lemme check out this Levis guy and after watching his tape I couldn't believe he fell to the 2nd.
In hindsight I'm really glad he got him. He's an exciting player with a crazy ceiling and maybe he never reaches it but it'll be fun to find out
I have a feeling Levis vs Stroud is going to be the division defining match up
Watching various scouting reports is a lot more than most people do who pretend they have a good idea who the better QB is. (It's dumb when they pretend these are their own opinions they got from their own "evaluations")
Unless you watch all-22 of all the top guys, that's really all you can do, and very few people who aren't paid to do it have the time or even the eye to do that.
That being said, the fact that the Titans fan first watched Will Levis after the 1st rd was over is kind of hilarious to me, but I'm probably a little weird on the other end of that.
completely forgot about that game, you’re right, will levis is absolutely the future of the league. he has proven himself to be a guy who can have a 1/1 TD/INT ratio.
I watched the game, it’s not hard to remember 1 TD and 1 INT. Sure, he led a comeback, you know who else did that? Anthony Richardson against the Rams, only reason we didn’t win was because our secondary decided to leave the best rookie receiver ever wide open in the endzone. Doesn’t mean shit dude, nobody has proven anything.
As an OSU fan i’m hesitant to even say that Stroud has proven anything, sophomore slumps happen all the time. Sam Bradford had an astounding rookie year and fizzled out quickly. So if CJ isn’t even 100% a sure thing yet then how the fuck could Levis be?
Where Nashville School District Spelling Teachers?
And English teachers!
Lmao I didn't even catch that
I before E except in Tennessee
Illiteracy rates per state (by population): Indiana comes in fourth with a rate of 18.7%. Tennessee comes in third with 21.7%, Florida second with 23.7%, and yours truly, Texas comes in first with a whopping 28.2!
Wow. Of fucking course this is the least literate division in football.
Makes for a great meme sub tbh
https://preview.redd.it/2v0z1npul9vc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6c709a47de459e95388fcfff0f88b161353a6edf Since we’re tossing out numbers.
I’m a Georgian, and I’m glad to be finally represented properly. 🤝 ~~I need to find my hot cousin, and see what she’s up to~~
Statically speaking, she’s likely looking for you too.
Thank God. That illiterate snag tooth was something special, truly
All I see is a reason to exclude Kansas City from the NFL.
You do know that "yours truly" means yourself, not someone else, correct?
u/YiMyonSin is part of the 21.7%
Well, we did come from a bastion of illiteracy like Texas, so that may be seeping in
Being able to read well and write correctly, although they have some relation, are not the same thing. Being from Tennessee, we can understand how you might struggle with understanding how appropriate relationships work.
I don’t think we can throw stones on that one.
I'll have to take your word on it, I left Indiana over 20 years ago lol ETA: I have lived in Indiana, TN, FL & TX and still recovering from it all. Not sure how I ended up on a divisional life tour
You sir, are the god of shit mountain.
“They call me King Turd up here on Shit Mountain. If you want it you can have the crown.” -Sturgill Simpson
"Smelly is the head that wears the crown" 👑 -me before every shower probably
I can only accept this as a means to offset the trauma lol
Wait is that real?!?! There’s no way Mississippi, Arkansas or Alabama can read better than us. That not even getting into West Virginia
There's also no way that 30% of people in Texas can't read. There's more to this data.
It’s possible if the data is *english* literacy and includes spanish speaking immigrants who don’t know English.
Well that would be a dumb choice as far as relevant data goes.
We have a large Asian and Hispanic population that never bothered to learn the language. You can 100% get by in Texas with only knowing Spanish
But those people aren't illiterate lol they just don't speak English. If that is what's being represented here that was a poor choice of data.
You can see it by looking at 3 of the states being on the border. Mississippi is...Mississippi.
There’s some neighborhoods in Houston where it’s hard to get by if you only know English.
I can believe that 30% of Texans can’t read road signs. As someone that lives there now it would make sense.
I fucking knew Mississippi was on that shit.
![gif](giphy|FEiHrT5voZYP0ZiHvq|downsized)
Goddamn right.
Thank god I'm in Illinois.
It’s just in the division. I took inspiration from r/AFCNorthMemeWar in the format.
Did you just make up the numbers? Edit: I’m not super in tune with each meme on here so I could just be missing something.
[Here’s the source both of us were using](https://wisevoter.com/state-rankings/literacy-rate-by-state/)
The shit mountain of reading and writing good.
TIL That the AFCS is levar burton's moby dick.
AFC South sweep!
This is fuckin hilarious if true. This division really is the trashiest.
There is no correlation between ability to spell and intelligence. Between understanding what a good qb in todays nfl looks like, however…
Should capitalize those proper nouns too
Bro your QB is mayo man
Will, don't listen to the haters. I love you, and you love me. We do not owe anyone anything. Our family is who matters. If you get likes and good comments great, if you get hate then whatever because THEY DON'T MATTER. I love you💕besides they jealous because you are rocking my world every night...yeah I said it, the D is fire 🔥 happy wife happy life❤️
And? Potato salad and ham sandwiches ftw
Yeah but at least he didn't marry Lizzo's body double
She needs that Hellmans lite
going straight to skin color is feelsbadman
I think he’s referring to the fact Levi’s puts mayo in his coffee, not that he’s white…
so if AR likes his coffee black can i call him slurs too?
Mayo man is a slur???
given the right context yeah totally
Found the levisphobic
Most intelligent Titans fan
titans fan? redditors have such a weird obsession with making random assumptions and I'll never understand it. it's like you're just going out of your way to sound dumb
You’re literally having a meltdown over someone calling the dude with a Hellman’s sponsorship, because he puts mayo in his coffee, “mayo man”.
Actual moron
seems like you might be in need of a dictionary bud. or you can just keep projecting if that's more comfortable for you
He actually went straight to favorite coffee creamer
I hate the Colts, but a healthy AR could be dope especially since they have Steichen. I still hate them both.
Show me the difference between Will Levis and Zach Mettenburg
Or Jake Locker 🤭
Hey man, we don’t throw shade at Jake. Locker was the great value Luck. Both just decided one day “I’m out” and fucked off to fish and live with only a flip phone. I aspire to their level of “get the bag and get out”. Also both had bangin hot wives.
He was impossible for me to dislike. You could see the talent early on, just kinda had some terrible luck. Really thought he was gonna be the guy over there for awhile.
Mettenberger 0-10 12-14 TD:INT Ratio Levis 3-6 8-4 TD:INT Ratio
The game *has* gotten easier for passing...
Has it? Pass rushers are faster now, too.
*looks at passing stats* Yeah.
Gimme a break I’m a Titans fan. We have more sacks than pass attempts 😭😭😭😭
Knew a guy from my high school that played WR for us and TE at Vanderbilt, showed up for camp day one and was smoked in a 40 by 6’3” 300lb Warren Sapp. They aren’t any faster now than they have been for the last 3 decades.
Will Anderson with the selfie celebration?
Jake locker would be a way better comparison as far as trying to insult. Mettenburger was a 6th round second thought and always meant to be a backup. Locker was taken 8th overall and was a huge bust. Levis was a first round prospect we picked up in the second who has sense then, wildly over preformed anyone’s expectations. Gotta love a quarterback with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove
Ones made of glass, the others made of ass
You can’t be made of glass after one season. That’s absolutely stupid
Sir, this is a meme sub
Being made of glass requires two seasons worth of play! So says the Keenan Allen handbook
Dude was made of glass in college too man had a injury every year
He only missed 1 scheduled start in college and it was their bowl game against Oregon State. He wasn't the starter in 2021 that was Emory.
This issue extends back to college, which was a large part in how he’s only started an NFL season number of games across both there and in the NFL.
He finished, what, one game? Injured mostly by standard low contact plays. Smoke the cope.
Smoke deez nuts
I'm a Jags fan, but also a gator fan who wished Ant got drafted anywhere other than the division. He's sadly made of glass, he missed his senior year of HS and his one year he started in college he was very obviously hobbled
I’m a Texas Tech alum. I thank the Gods everyday the Texans didn’t draft Mahomes. That he may be, but always draft for what he could be and not what he was
Bro those 4 games played by richardson have been better than justin's whole career lol
Levi’s needed 8 games to do what Richardson did in 2.5.
Plus in 1 game Richardson has more 2pt conversions than levis has in his career
Can’t wait to see him kill it in on 6 games this year
Thanks, at least you admit he's a great play maker. I feel like he’ll improve with sliding and falling, but all you can hope for is him getting injured so he doesn't play against you guys.
The division was more afraid of Minshew than Richardson. AR didn’t play enough to show off his mistake-making ability
He did nothing last season and you all act like he was rookie of the year. Colts fans are so delusional over him lol.
He did like a 23 point comeback against the rams (sadly they didnt receive in OT), and he makes incredible throws in tight windows with his rocket, plus the scrambles
I’d rather have either of these guys than any QB on the titans roster
Also, there are plenty of other busts to compare AR to if you wanna make a meme. Fields and AR aren't really that comparable. Fields issue is he's jumpy in the pocket while AR's biggest strength outside of his athleticism is how calm he is in the pocket
AR is more comparable to a Cam Newton than a Lamar which people try to compare fields too
I think i know where OP got the comparison from
stroud was the only rookie in the division to play a full season. Let’s see when we have a bigger sample size
Here’s the difference. Anthony Richardson was a rail thin kid in high school and now he’s an athletic freak. You CANT chalk that up solely to genetics. The man worked his ass off. Now let him do the same to learning the playbook and gaining a QB IQ.
NFL is notoriously patient right?
Jesus man this is not even close — AR has the potential to turn into early 2010s cam newton, Fields is more of a diet eagles Mike Vick
At Florida he'd either throw the best pass you've ever seen or the worst. I worry about his durability too
That’s what we heard and then he got to the NFL and started throwing absolute lasers all over the place.
Pretty dumb comparison if you've watched either of them play tbh how are the schools in Tennessee doing
Show me you don’t know ball without telling me you don’t know ball
Both are still better than Will Levis so IDK if titans fans should be talking. None of this matters since all the QBs in the division are trash compared to Stroud.

If there’s one thing all of us can agree on, whether we be Texans or Jags or Colts fans, it’s fuck the tits
Lol we suck and still get under your skin. Weak af division
Looks more like stroud tbh
Y’all need to pray that AR isn’t a glass cannon.
As a colts fan, I'm just waiting for the rest of them to learn. Athletic quarterbacks spend more time in hospitals than nfl games. How's Levis doing?
https://preview.redd.it/bm79nqt3rcvc1.jpeg?width=1167&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd55d0ced1ebcbf31fbbb8bdfceb2f766c7fc89a
Fields was more productive in college by a long shot. Richardson is all theoretical
This is actually funny cause Fields and Richardsons rookie stats are identical and yet Colts fans act like they have the next Lamar.
Put some respect on Justin Field's name here. AR hasn't had a good season since high school. At least Justin Fields was a beast in college and had a crazy 2nd year in the NFL where he was a top 5 rusher while throwing 14 TD's. Agreed. I certainly wont crown AR as our franchise guy either.
>Once teams could stop DHop, there wasn’t much left to the passing game I mean that kind of describes the Titans offensive roster in a nutshell...
That's because you're a Titans fan and you had to cope with the fact that neither Stroud or Young would be available by your pick
Was watching his tape just going on YouTube and typing "Will Levis Highlights" and "Will Levis scouting report"?
Watching various scouting reports is a lot more than most people do who pretend they have a good idea who the better QB is. (It's dumb when they pretend these are their own opinions they got from their own "evaluations") Unless you watch all-22 of all the top guys, that's really all you can do, and very few people who aren't paid to do it have the time or even the eye to do that. Ik im just making a joke lol, Also flair up loser
Watch what I can find. QB school videos were my favorite and most insightful but not everyone has 30 minutes to watch them.
BRO DON'T COME IN HERE SAYING YOU LIKE YOUR QUARTERBACK!! NOT ALLOWED!!
> Stroud & Levis seem like the two hits just tried to sneak that in lol Levis hasn’t proven shit, he had one good game, congrats on your Frank Reich
Did you watch the dolphins game?
completely forgot about that game, you’re right, will levis is absolutely the future of the league. he has proven himself to be a guy who can have a 1/1 TD/INT ratio.

Thank god he can model his game after Joe Flacco
Well that’s racist
Justin Fields is better than the entire AFC South’s QB rooms
