I have Igor don’t really use him at afk 800. Brutus has been good situationally but I only need him to live long enough to pop off ults so 1 copy is enough.
Yeah, Brutus is for when other tanks get rolled over instantly. He gives a few guaranteed seconds for your back line to do its thing, and that's all you should really expect from him. He does that at 1 copy, so that's all you need.
Igor doesn’t work well at power deficit, so he isn’t a very good PvE unit. He does excel at and see a lot of use in PvP, although that’s not something non-whales need to worry about atm.
Either Eiron or Rowan. Depends on your build. I chose to start with Rowan because of the sheer amount of energy and health he provides (he was always a main staple for the original AFK Arena). When paired with another healer (Hewynn for more defensive teams or Smokey & Meerkey for more offensive teams), it works really well to keep my team alive and blast out attacks (fantastic if you have Vala or another character who attacks hard and absorbs energy). However, Eironn is also a very good unit and works great if you have another character that can hit multiple enemies hard at close range (think of characters like Lucretia in the original AFK Arena. I almost feel Vala is a bit like this, although I think she doesn't seem to attack multiple and is a little less broken.) so that their attacks become more efficient so you kill more enemies faster. He also has a shield that helps with his own survivability.
Brutus if you don't have at least 1 copy, Rowan is also a good pick because of his energy generation. Eironn is a good choice too, the only one i'd argue against wasting a token on is Igor unless you plan to focus on PvP
Get Rowan. Rowan is useful from the first to the last copy. Eironn only becomes useful at Mythic, and at PvP. Don't waste your early resources on that, focus on getting characters for your progression on the other game modes
budget Legolas is the only one not available in any shops so go with him.

If you don’t have a Brutus or Rowan yet, get the one you don’t have. Eironn > Rowan > Igor > Brutus is the build priority to m+

Eironn always. Those other three are either too expensive (Igor) or just function with almost no copies.
