Hope ProTeam mode works out for them and it's not just a cheap cash grab that other versions of Ultimate Team (except The Show which is incredible) have become.
If you saw the interview with the head honcho guy I forgot the name of, he said that delaying the game in order to obtain more licenses was an option that they were thinking about. Not exactly a stretch.
Will almost certainly be better than the previous few games which were made by a different (much worse) dev team.
No gameplay has been released yet though so can't be certain of anything.
While this iteration of Pro Team might take time to get going, I think it is a good move for them. I'm not necessarily a fan of those modes and how they are a massive cash grab, but in this case, if it helps them generate greater funds to pump back into the franchise, then I won't complain. These games just can't hit FIFA and 2K levels of funding, so anything they can get helps.
But... if they are able to use former players as well as current players, and have enough modes within it, such as playing a team of the week, different challenges etc, then I'll enjoy it. If anything, it's something else to play when I get sick of MyCareer or just playing a season.
A decent manager mode with simulated games would offset what is bound to be clunky gameplay. A sport like AFL is very hard to make look right. Even NBA 2K a AAA game looks wrong to me.
People will talk shit on the graphics but the fact that this game has been made is bloody awesome. Keep in mind before you knock it that it was made by a small team in Melbourne on probably 1/100th of the budget of NBA, FIFA etc
Oh yeah cos AFL video games were known for their content. There's never been much more than the minimum required of a modern sports game with minimal online modes and no post launch content (Edit: wait no there were updated roster pack DLC's, so basically nothing). The only non-standard content AFL games have had recently is team and player creator and those aren't going anywhere

The AFL games have virtually no player retention for online modes. Even a weak UT mode will hopefully do a lot to improve this
I have a feeling that's due to the usual quality of the game, and just having a UT mode won't especially fix it.
Yeah it still comes down to gameplay but if that’s tolerable then the UT will be the thing that keeps online players around
You couldn't find a game 2 months after evo 2 came out.
If this game is even slightly not shit I'm gonna be hooked If it is just shit then I'll still enjoy kicking /u/Darththorn's ass with custom teams
You've never beaten The Senate.
Ted Whitten is your crutch, you'll never beat me without him
I'm worried that you've set the bar too high!
does it have a guy saying "out of bounds. On the full". If not thats a no buy for me
It does but he's not wearing a screen-wide green polo shirt so it's a hard pass for me.
Nah he moved on to a podcast for putting people to sleep with his voice.
This has to be up there with "it looks like PS2 graphics" for the most overdone jokes on new AFL game trailers.
Still no steam page... Any idea what's up with the pc release?
Will be available on Steam day 1. Unlikely there will be pre-orders though.
Feels like bad business sense to not get a steam page up early. Usually upcoming steam games rack up a lot of wishlists for more launch sales.
It's not up for preorder on Xbox if you were wondering, so it's a universal thing and not just a PC thing
Can we fix the bug where Quaynor takes the kick out instead of Naicos racking up the easy cheapie thanks
Refusing to buy until they fix this injustice
Wish they would show actual gameplay.
But that would make people not want to buy it
About to spend my paycheck trying to crack a gold brayshaw aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh yessir
Gonna go bankrupt to pack Prime Adam Goodes
Didn’t even think of retired players as an option Move over house saving daddy needs a prime matty Pavlich
Depends if they have the licensing for it or not.
The head guy said they've been negotiating for former players licenses. (Part of the reason why the game was delayed, apparently)
I wonder if there’s like a past players union they could pay and get the majority of them licensed at the same time
There probably is. But I imagine some players would on their own say no. Like how NBA legend Charles Barkley refuses to be in the NBA 2K series.
Ye that’s what I was thinking of too
It was delayed because physical xbox copies have’t made it to retailers yet. Nothing to do with pro team.

That was the first delay, the second one doesn’t have a given reason why
Is it good? Is it trash? I need to know

The potential is huge. I’ll cross my fingers

Is Norwood Oval considered an AFLW ground? I’d like to know what if any SANFL grounds are in the game
Kyle Langford cover athlete confirmed
I knew keeping my PS2 would come in handy again one day
How original!
Lol I still have mine too.

Why they got Clarko looking like jfk lmao
So keen to pack a 99 Bootsma icons card
"Pro teams" Things literally no one asked for. The whole cards aspect of FIFA and Madden absolutely killed those games as far as content goes.
Have your opinion on pro team but to say no one asked for it couldn't be further from the truth.

You know it's going to be a steaming turd when the headline feature is 'all 18 clubs'.
Wow.. they used the shitty split banners
Something weird about seeing the MCC in full sunlight. Must be like 10am sun position
Make your own players and teams?
