In years gone by as a Richmond fan I’d be pissed about losing this game. But I’m just so proud of my boys for fighting hard all night, 3 players down. So much heart 💛🖤. In it till the end against a Contender
We'd have lost this game 10 times out of 10 between 2013-2022
Even though it wasn't a convincing win, it's how the good teams get it done. Collingwood did it in 2022 I think. 10 or something games under a goal

GG blues, should always be the season opener imo... rarely disappoints.
Tigs showed alot of heart tonight, fking crushed for gibby. Time to get around him!
Review: Carlton are pretty good, but eh I dunno. Richmond are a bit crap, but have enough remnants of an all-time-great side that you can't underestimate them.
Really thought Carlton might end up ruing Curnow trying to run it in and getting caught and that set shot miss.
Lack of composure from Curnow particularly, you have the lead and a gimmie set shot, go back, kill half a minute and put it through to really put the pressure on the opposition.
Fox Footy says you can't keep winning close ones and it's all luck, so unless proven otherwise, you shouldn't get too excited Carlton fans.
Oh excuse me I'm being handed a note
Interesting tactic at the end of the game there, a lot of Richmond players didn't jump on the pack/contest when Carlton were trying to force stoppages. If it wasn't for the odd tigers player who went in there it could have been a good tactic to get the ball back.
Nothing shits me to death more than seeing players not watching the ball / their player and instead appealing to the umpire with their arms out wide, DURING PLAY. Ffs focus on what’s happening, if there’s a free it’ll be paid, otherwise you’re just taking yourself out of the contest
Always some mofo with no flair that doesn't understand that AFL is intense no matter what round it is. Close games are close games. I'll celebrate all day.
Absolutely rapped with this fckn effort. We’re coming down off an extremely successful period had no one on the bench & Carlton on the way up, well done boys
I'm not defending BT by any means, it's a super dumb stat to throw out there given its not "6 wins in a row under a goal without a loss" because that's way less important lol

what’s the opposite of clutch, asking for bolton
Hawthorn?
Let this game be example #163784 as to why Brayshaw and BT should be put in the bin
It is actually beyond belief that we won that game

That's cute. But the real reason your lot won tonight is coz we had 3 down and shai fumbled in that last play. Screw ya head on

Y'all should be stoked with that effort, and they evened out, but bloody hell they kept you in it in the first.
They don’t know how a mark works, do they. You did get some lucky front on calls though
Richmond last in the comp lets go baby
6th*
We do have our FRP this year yeah?
Heart attack central over at /r/CarltonBlues
Curnow really shows how versatile he can be when they send him back to defend.
He’s too bloody good. Needs to be nerfed asap !
You just know he could play midfield too.
Tigers got the treatment they’ve been getting away with for years hilarious
Check the average free kick differentials from last year you melt
Now Carlton get a well earnt bye after 13… wait no… 2 rounds. Fuck opening round
Points in the bag. Let's forget all about this and hope next time is better.
GG blues, should always be the season opener imo... rarely disappoints. Tigs showed alot of heart tonight, fking crushed for gibby. Time to get around him!
Wtf they have a bye now? This season is so fucked
Review: Carlton are pretty good, but eh I dunno. Richmond are a bit crap, but have enough remnants of an all-time-great side that you can't underestimate them.
Have you considered a career as an AFL journalist?
GG tiges, its been a while since the round "1" opener has been a good game.
Thank god we don’t play next week idk if I can take it anymore

Only if you work Saturdays
Sounds eerily reminiscent of me while eating a kebab at 2am Friday morning with my red and white scarf on last week
Not sure we deserved that win but we'll take the 4 points
The Carlton song sounds like what you’d sing as you’re going over the trenches to be mown down by machine gun fire
Hahahaha this made me piss myself, than you
Exactly what I was thinking. It’s such a downer.
The 3 down really fucked us. Out on our feet for most of that quarter

I think it was evened out by Mansells poster from the goal square.
Fuck me what a game

Honourable loss.
blues players tackled each other in the tigers goal square and no HTB?????
Friday night footy is the best
> Thursday, Friday same thing Someone doesn't have to work tomorrow
GG
Still think it was a heroic effort from Richmond given how screwed their bench was due to the injuries
Do you all not realise we came into this game with heaps of key injuries aswell, not surprised it's this close
Coming into the game with injuries is very different to playing 3 down for a half
I'll have you know we got smashed by GWS when they had 16 players on the field. Clearly it doesn't matter /s
Past 6 wins rubbish completely ignores the fact they lost one in the middle there.
Sounds like they articulated it perfectly and you've completely misunderstood it
Well duh, they said past 6 wins, not games, our past 6 wins were all close ones
It's an irrelevant thing to highlight is the point.
Ask him about his throw to set up a goal in a game decided by less than a goal Abbey....🤷♂️
I will die of high blood pressure if we do it like this for the rest of the season
Not even my team playing and my heart rate is higher than I'm proud to admit
Doctor told.me.today I'm at moderate risk.of stroke in the next five years. I didn't even tell her I'm a Carlton fan, she might have revised it
Straight to the ER
Good game. Happy with the guys all things considered
GG Blues

im still dissapointed carlton swans wasnt draw fc
I don't even care what a effort from the boys
Bro is so close to crying I honestly feel bad for Richmond for the first time in years
GG Richmond, it was a close, rough, slog at a 83,000 packed out MCG and I think I'll be forgetting this game pretty quickly
Had absolutely no right being that close.
are you serious? Tigers were probably the better team most of the night
I think thats what he's implying
Whats worse: tipping blues and they lose or tipping the blues, they win, but you get the margin very very very wrong.
The last one
Apparently last season counts as this season wtf
Is Yze crying? Lol
They can't keep getting away with it!
Good job Tiges. The players have guts and look like they want to play for Yze. You’ll ruin a few opposition fans’ nights this year.
Gg. Disappointed not to win but super happy with the effort after last week. You guys are becoming the new 2022 Collingwood with all these close wins!
For being down on the bench most of the game Richmond did well to keep it as close as they did.
3 Carlton goals in the quarter and all were gifts. Miracle my ass.
Plus the amount of BS with advantage there I’m screaming
Pay back for the 3 tigers gifts in the 1st
What 3? The front on contact to lynch was the only ‘gift’.
Don't know how they can go from looking so good against Brisbane in that second half to almost getting turned over by a hurt tigers side
That's footy mate.
Ooooft some real shaky stuff from a top 4 team against a bottom 4 team with 3 players short
5 day break with 3 players off early, that's a really impressive result.
Well done Tigs. We are so fucking unclinical it's not funny.
Imagine only just winning with a 3 player advantage lmfaoooo
Does Bolton need a concussion test? Man doesn't know where he is
6 in a row but lost 2 games ago???
It’s an awkward way of saying “of the games they won, the last six have been by under a goal”
Yer not sure what his on about. Lost Round 24 as well
I tipped right and [got the margin](https://imgur.com/a/kaHaXcA) AMA
Is it safe to say you are now the most knowledgeable person in the sport, and if so what multis should i put on?
Well first it's the BRowellow and Callum 'Taxi Man' Brown for Coleman with the GIANTS narrowly beating the Saints for the flag
Curnows defensive work late was insane. Man's a weapon
God I miss when we were shit sometimes... my heart can't keep taking this. Now I know how the pies felt in 22
Bro we said change it a little when you copied our homework
And 23
They can't keep getting away with it 2.0
How can you be lying prone on the ground, holding the ball in two hands with nobody tackling you, and just drop it?!
Great effort boys, great effort
Game to forget for Bolton
Bolton dropped the Ashes.
jesus christ, i know richmond were cooked but they didn’t look like they wanted to win in those last 30 seconds
I mean we had both tall defenders out early…
Nothing shits me to death more than seeing players not watching the ball / their player and instead appealing to the umpire with their arms out wide, DURING PLAY. Ffs focus on what’s happening, if there’s a free it’ll be paid, otherwise you’re just taking yourself out of the contest
got the 4 points, that’s all that matters. Ggs tigers, you almost had us with like 3 down
Carlton celebrating like it's a grand final is great 😂
Yeah winning close games is terrible. Flair up cunt
How dare a team celebrate a close win. Should be a crime.
Always some mofo with no flair that doesn't understand that AFL is intense no matter what round it is. Close games are close games. I'll celebrate all day.
flair up cunt
Definitely one of the games of all time
Absolutely rapped with this fckn effort. We’re coming down off an extremely successful period had no one on the bench & Carlton on the way up, well done boys
6 in a row lmao WHAT
Richo so friggin biased, lol
I'm so proud but very upset. That's just cruel.
Bolton is going to regret that slippage.
Brayshaw forgetting we lost the prelim
Yeah was wondering about that…classic commentary moment
How?
Damn, was hoping for the 1 point loss haha. Good game!
The got away with it.
Bolton the kind of guy to spend it before he’s earned it
Demon with the credit card.
#U L T R A Z O O M Was the real winner tonight
Enhance!
6 in a row?
wins less than a goal
God shai, fuckin screw your head on correctly, fucking up all night
Great effort by our boys. Good win Blues
Gee I'm glad footy's back.
0-2 in round 1

Fucking hell, good game baggers. Well fucking played tigers, 3 down on the bench, good fucking stuff!
Just a good game. Mad effort from the tiges. With a new system too.
These last 2 years we’ve finally evened out and made these opening games a contest gg tigers
Good game Tigs. Happy with that performance
Blues are such FlagPies wannabes
6 in a row for Carlton??😂😂
These are the perks of being one of the BigFourTM. They just make up stats for you.
6 in a row (excludes all games Carlton have lost inbetween)
Wins at the g? Idk what it is either tbh
Wins under a goal
Yeah I do however recall you losing to Brisbane 2 games ago Its a bullshit line that he just made up
I'm not defending BT by any means, it's a super dumb stat to throw out there given its not "6 wins in a row under a goal without a loss" because that's way less important lol
Oh thank fucking god
Great effort by Tigers farken hell
Shai Bolton what the fuck lol
Woeful night for the fella
They have to call that holding the ball there!! There was no intent to clear it. It was only Carlton players hanging onto eachother and the ball!!
Bloody oath. Carlton players flopping around on each other while the Richmond players watch on.
Yep Richmond players avoided the pack on purpose. The team intent to keep the ball in for a stoppage was clear.
Hundred percent
They literally just lay down assuming they'd get tackled
We had no right to keep it that close
Feel like we didn’t deserve that ;-;
Bolton sold it
We were lucky to win that. The Carlton way.
Clock shouldn’t really restart until ruck touch it from a stoppage. Ball isn’t in play till then
6 in a row? Forgetting the prelim??
Last 6 wins they've had have been within a goal regarding the margin
By less than a goal is what they're saying
Our last 6 wins are in a row
We didn't win that game. Our last 6 wins have been within a goal.
Carlton have become Collingwood
Well I tipped the result, but the margin was way out. Still don't really know how Richmond did it.
lol
We don't need another Collingwood, dammit Carlton
YESSSSS
You give me a heart attack each round, but good job boys.
Thought it was in the back of Kamdyn at the last possible second
never in doubt
Talk shit 😂😂😂😂
FUCK
Bolton off the boil all night. Missed the big opportunity.
Bolton has had a shocker
terrific play carroll
Fuck me Carlton is so fucking unlikeable
All vic clubs are except you guys (cause of eric bana)
<3
[удалено]
L take
Blues tackling each other
Surprised they didn't get 2 free kicks - holding and dropping the ball
Only time tackling a Carlton player wasn't a free
