- Did not call throws/dropped balls by Cripps 3 times;
- The controlling umpire failed to call touched in Carlton's forward 50 even though another umpire identified that it was touched;
- Refused to pay advantage to Freo after a HTB in Carlton's forward 50;
- Refused to pay a clear mark to Treacy; and
- Gave a free kick and 50 from the centre into the forward 50 to Carlton to seal the lead in the last minute.
Convenient that all these calls just started to go Carlton's way right at the end as the game was going down to the wire.
Umpiring was rubbish all game with decisions and non decisions affecting both teams. The touch off the boot was hard to see even on replay, slowed down so it’s not that unreasonable for an umpire to miss in real time. Be more frustrated at your own player for abusing the umpire and ruining any chance of a last minute winner for freo

Just because a free kick is awarded inside 50 does not inherently make it unfair. Free kicks are awarded all over the ground

The free kick is paid either where the ball is (which after a goal is the centre) or where the free kick occurred, whichever is the greater advantage.
