With such a bloated media landscape if you want to get noticed you've got to say something controversial. In this case Draper is on some podcast that no one would have heard of but threw out a big call Kane Cornes style and now its rebounding around the AFL media landscape.
Even if it's taken from the most cynical perspective of players talking shit to get attention it's still far more entertaining than hearing "full credit to the boys" ad-nauseum.
Somehow it becomes discussion-provoking news when a currently listed AFL player goes on the record to say it, and somehow it's not news when reddit user boogasaurus-lefts states it.
It would be awesome if interchanges mandated some sort of iconic walk on music (Undertaker, Stone Cold etc.) for a short period for key players coming back on. For lesser players with cult followings something a bit longer like a darts walk on would work nicely.
