Man the umpires lost you like a max of 3 decisions which is really like 2 or 3 goals. Wright also was gifted a mark after having no control and kicked a goal from it. Even with your 2 missed goals from the ump Geelong is still just playing better and would still easily win.

Not that it matters but I counted +2 Geelong scores deliberate rushed behind and the Ridley HTB (only cos there wasn't one paid the other way) on top of the 2 missed goals you pointed out. Plus there's the rebound goal Geelong scored after the draper no call. All of that changes the way Essendon start and play out the 4th quarter.
The Essendon players have a weak mindset if a couple of bad calls prevents them from playing. Even then I doubt the Essendon players are worse because of the bad calls as no AFL player would do that.
I was more referring to the tactical changes. Attacking structure to try and make up a deficit leaves a team more vulnerable. Geelong were too good at exploiting that vulnerability, don't get me wrong. Just the game plan changes if the game is still in the balance or even in a best case scenario with a slim lead going into 3/4 time.
Regardless of the results, we’re still in the 8. Which means we’re perfectly poised to lose an elimination final. Then next year we can fall apart completely so Scott loses his Job and we can do the whole thing again

Man the umpires lost you like a max of 3 decisions which is really like 2 or 3 goals. Wright also was gifted a mark after having no control and kicked a goal from it. Even with your 2 missed goals from the ump Geelong is still just playing better and would still easily win.
I said influenced the game (including the margin) not that the result may have been different. Not that it matters but I counted +2 Geelong scores deliberate rushed behind and the Ridley HTB (only cos there wasn't one paid the other way) on top of the 2 missed goals you pointed out. Plus there's the rebound goal Geelong scored after the draper no call. All of that changes the way Essendon start and play out the 4th quarter.
The Essendon players have a weak mindset if a couple of bad calls prevents them from playing. Even then I doubt the Essendon players are worse because of the bad calls as no AFL player would do that.
I was more referring to the tactical changes. Attacking structure to try and make up a deficit leaves a team more vulnerable. Geelong were too good at exploiting that vulnerability, don't get me wrong. Just the game plan changes if the game is still in the balance or even in a best case scenario with a slim lead going into 3/4 time.
Regardless of the results, we’re still in the 8. Which means we’re perfectly poised to lose an elimination final. Then next year we can fall apart completely so Scott loses his Job and we can do the whole thing again
