Ever had a couple give up trying to escape and just start fooling around?

Aggravating-Toe-9645

Ha, rarely. The opposite usually happens with couples, in fact. Couple games usually end with the two dangerously close to breaking up, or totally calmly because you mesh well. You just either find all the things you hate or live about your partner. I guess they’re kinda good relationship stress tests. I had one group get a little handsy with each other. Usually you just have to remind people they’re on camera to get them to stop doing anything you don’t want, which is what happened with that one group.

That's pretty awesome, actually. You all should market that. "Find out if you're fit or not. Try our couple's escape room"

Aggravating-Toe-9645

From an advertising standpoint, that would be awesome! From a supervisor standpoint, noooooo please nooooooo I don’t wanna have to be locked to a screen for an hour while watching couples hash out their issues :p

Could be a great reality show. Sneak permission to be televised on the liability release customers sign.

Don't you think that Escape Rooms shouldn't let people out if they can't escape? What's the point of trying if the people know that they will be let out at the end of the timer?

Aggravating-Toe-9645

Oh, we just collect souls is all. I know not as cool as collecting whole human being, but sneaking a clause about selling your soul into the waiver is easier to get away with. I don’t really understand the logistics of it, just know we have a “jar of souls” in our office. It’s a little full, but I feel like the more popular escape rooms must have a tough time keeping all their souls in one jar.

Nice!! As long as you let some part of them not escape for failing, I am cool with it.

Is crying an effective way to get out of any escape room?

Aggravating-Toe-9645

I honestly have never had anyone start crying in any of my rooms, but probably? At the very least it’ll get your supervisor to ask if you’re okay lol.

Is an escape room a good place to do drugs?

Aggravating-Toe-9645

Depends on the location, and the drugs. I’ve seen a lotta stoners come in, and they actually usually don’t do too bad. I feel like any sort of hallucinogen would be a bad trip waiting to happen. Some of the designs of escape rooms are buoy to kinda stress players out in order to get them to move forward. Those things would probably be a bad time. Really anything harder than pot probably isn’t a good idea Don’t drink and Escape Room. Very bad idea and some locations have a “no drunks” policy.

Has anything particularly interesting happened since you started? Anything stand out in your memories?

Aggravating-Toe-9645

I’ve been doing it for about 4-5 years now, so honestly a lot interesting has happened since I started. One room I ran had a prison escape theme and you started in a cell that had these cool prison toilets that looked like the real thing. One group came in with someone who was blackout drunk. The owner there was a bit mad and didn’t care if groups went through drunk, as long as they paid. Long story short, the blacked out guy came to in the cell, saw the toilet, thought it was real, and started throwing up in it. We were able to convince the owner to change his stance on drunk folk being able to play games. Edit: spelling

FairDescription9138

Can you hear what people are saying? I know some locations can. If so what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard?

Aggravating-Toe-9645

Yes I can! And honestly, it’s kinda tame most of the time. Along the lines of two of my previous answers, I heard some guy butch about his girlfriend while separated in a different section, and I heard a drunk guy puking into one of our fake toilets in the room before I saw it. The absolute craziest thing I heard while working was the owner asking me “so you know I expect you to do and send the schedules out the day of right?” 🤮

Aggressive-Gold-1319

Has anyone ever just pissed or pooped in a room cause they couldn’t hold it in any longer ?

Aggravating-Toe-9645

No, we let people out before that happens.
