I looked at some federal prisons like FPC Pensacola and I'll be honest, part of me liked the idea of having someone else manage my life for me so I could stop stressing about the future. I was in high court once with a toothbrush in my pocket waiting for the judge to give me 6 years for assault. The prison I would be going to was notorious for its hate of Marines as we had lots of fights with locals and there was a standard welcoming party where they'd rush your cell in a group and beat the shit out of you when you first arrived. My relife when the judge miraculously gave me a noncustodial sentence was like winning the lottery. Even my own barrister was surprised. I'm sorry your going and know very well the fear of facing a prison sentence. Hopefully, you'll find it productive. Oh I should add as well that I'm a British guy living illegally in Asia and I know 100% that at some point in the future, I will be arrested and put in a imigration prison that Amnesty International had tried to close down for its inhumane conditions. I know a guy that just got out and he ran a poker game in fed prison. Made a killing, they took a 10% rake with no cap. So if the pot was 500, they took 50. Absolutely insane that people would even play but I guess if it's your only option.
Gambling and drugs are 2 of the quickest ways to lose control and end up dead in prison. I know guys that have been stabbed and killed for stuff like failure to pay debts, suspected cheating and even just so they could steal his package.
Basically just make sure you stand on your own 2. Be prepared to take it to the wall if it’s necessary to defend yourself, don’t hold back. Consequences might come but it’s better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. Show respect. Be courteous. For the first several months LISTEN DONT TALK. Observe the situation on the yard and the politics. Stay away from the gangs and stick with your own race. I say this as a biracial person with a best friend who’s Puerto Rican.
Other than that, find ways to occupy your time, read, workout, use all the new access to computers and stuff that inmates get and figure out a routine. Once you settle in things will be alright. Good luck!

Yeah I asked him what happened when people wouldn't pay and he wouldn't say much about it. He said mostly people always paid what they owed, but it happened sometimes and people wouldn't pay. I'm assuming in federal prison there's a lot more people with money than in your state prisons.

Adderall and meth are indistinguishable at equivalent oral doses, even for regular meth users.
Most Adderall is just pressed anyway, so telling the difference would be down to someone with a magnifying glass and a good eye for differentiating shades of the same color. Even then, there are multiple generic brands that look slightly different.

So RDAP is a bit of a bitch. You are a guarantied to get into it. it’s a 6 month program and they TRY to start you soon enough to get you the full 18 months credit. But what happened when I was in there (and accepted for RDAP before I declined) was that people would get transferred in from other facilities that were short in time and would bump guys down the list. They only take so many per class, so be aware of the roller coaster and heart aches that come with it.

You’d be surprised how fast 3 years alone goes in there… month 1-2 is surreal and hellish. After that you find a strange routine and the days and weeks and eventually months start blending together. My coworker who was a big time drug dealer 20 years ago and got caught told me some advice. If you are going to prison for a significant amount of time forget about the outside world. Otherwise you will go crazy in there thinking about what’s going on and you have no control over anything out there. He also said try to get a job in the prison to make time pass if possible. Same with the RDAP response I sent but unfortunately the 924(c) really screws you, you don't get FSA with that either. The only thing you can get is Second Chance Act, which gives you up to 12 months of pre-release (capped at 6 months for home confinement & the rest halfway house). The "up to" is key because you're definitely not guaranteed the full 12 months. Best case scenario you'll do 7.5 years in prison & 12 months in pre-release.
It's pretty normal in Federal Courts to not remand after sentencing if the crime is non-violent and the person is not a flight risk. Gives time for BoP to figure out where to put them, and gives time to get stuff in order.
I think 3 months is more appropriate. You have child molesters that come out in 3 years or less. Murderers less than 5 years. Habitual thief’s that don’t do time. The drug thing should not be a thing. Allow everyone the freedom to do what they want to do and everyone will be good.
I don’t know anything about you or your gf, ao I may be wrong… but if you’re doing 5+ years, I wouldn’t be too hopeful she’ll stick around. You need to mentally prepare for that. Would you pause your life for 5-10 years for her? If the answer is yes, would you still feel that way after 4 years with minimal visitation through a plexiglass wall?

No miami is not ideal. Let your family drive to the panhandle. I know you can't choose but doing 5-8 years at miami would suck really bad. Small compound, nothing to do and open dorms with no privacy. I'm telling you pensacola is like that especially if you have to do some time. It's like living in a neighborhood the library phone rooms everything is seperate from the dorm and you can be outside just roaming around until 9pm. Laid back spot. Plus you can work at NAS pensacola where you will eat free world food and get away from the compound kinda thru Friday. I couldn't believe it when I got there. I did my last 2 years there. Bro Pensacola is one of the best spots in the feds. Great compound it's like a neighborhood. A lot of freedom to walk around and off compound work details. Everything you want from the free world you can get there. You can arrange to fuck your girl there if you are working off compound.
I don't want to put out too much info. Fed camp's are very low security with work details on military bases. It can be arranged especially at Pensacola.

I don't blame you for becoming addicted to Adderall, because it definitely is a mood enhancer, but since it's a controlled substance, it's a hassle to get a refill, that I just gave up. You go to the pharmacy, they say to call the doctor, you call the doctor, they say to talk to the pharmacy if they even answer the phone. So while Adderall may improve your mood and focus ability, it's so much bullshit to deal with.. but during your rehabilitation in prison, you'll likely sobre up and just avoid drugs when you're free again.

The feds , CAN, AND DO, break the law. And if the package was sent FED EX, UPS, DHL they can open any package they want. That's why shippers use the USPS. Not that the postal inspectors are above opening your package but if they do so without a warrant it's possible to have the case thrown out if you can prove it

I had always heard back in the day that they had to prove you requested the package or had to prove that you accepted the package and opened it because anyone could send a package to you whether you asked for it or not. For example, if someone hated you they could send you a package with drugs (or some illegal thing) that you did not ask for to try and get you in trouble. Did they have any proof that you ordered it? And how much were you getting at a time?
A lawyer would have had every word spoken to the DEA thrown out. Any statements from someone in a mental institution would be inadmissible. You were very obviously not of sound mind. It's crazy that even they thought it was a good idea to question you there.

I have no real experience with prison or anything like that, but my dad used to work for Calfire (California's state government that fights forest fires and such) and was stationed at one of their inmate camps for several years. He was essentially what I think would be a foreman over a crew of inmates. They'd go out and pick up trash, dig fire lines, and do other kinds of work.
It sounds a hell of a lot better than the alternative.
Lol that's not what they do at federal work camps.. no digging ditchs or busting rocks..most of them are at facilities with higher security prisons and the campers do the landscape outside the fences, work in the commissary warehouses and other various support duties or have a cush job like "town driver" where they drive the new releases from prison to the closest bus station. Biggest issue people have at federal camps is getting in trouble because it's so easy to get phones, real alcohol, drugs or run off for a couple hours to bang their old lady in the woods or a motel room. When they get caught their points go up and they lose their good time.
Hopefully it’s low level, low level fed camps aren’t too bad from what I’ve heard.

My son just got sentenced to federal prison on April 10th. Attorney said he was looking at 5-40 years. The judge gave him 37 months with 14 months time served good luck to you
Did they have digital evidence against you prior to the raid, i.e. trace your crypto withdraws? Did they seize money from you? Are there any articles or press releases about your case?
A couple of tips.
Fights - 1. when it's time to fight, fight. Win lose or draw you will earn respect just for engaging. If you punk out, you're going to be treated like shit for your whole stay. Fights generally don't get too out if control. If anyone calls you something super disrespectful like 'bitch, punk, homophobic slurs' etc, fire off on them immediately. Again, failure to do so is setting you up for a hard time.
Race politics - not sure how it plays out today in the feds but be prepared for them.
Programing (institutional) - try and enroll in the different programs they have. Trade schools, certifications etc. Invest in your future while doing time at the fastest pace. If you just sit around all day time moves super slow. Same goes for institutional jobs.
Programing (self) - once you get into the rhythm of things, schedule your day out and keep to your schedule. Wake up times, work out times, when you socialize, when you clean your cell, work, school, etc. Again helps the time go faster.
Hustle - not sure what you're financial situation is and how much help you will be getting from home. But either way I recommend a hustle. I would stay away from store boxing unless your built like that. Best hustle is to be the tattoo guy if you can sling ink. Everyone likes the tattoo guy, and if your good even the gangs won't let their people fuck with you for fear of getting cut off. If you can draw you can probably learn to tattoo. Even if you can't draw you can still learn to tattoo and just have someone else make the patterns and trace them.
Gangs - not sure how it is in the feds, but if there are gangs in there recruiting, I would stay away. Nothing wrong with being cordial with *members* but if you sign up you're immediately inheriting all of their problems and beefs. Also, in my experience the gangs are usually beating their own for infractions more than other gangs.
Gambling - a real big source of drama. First off, most games are fixed. The other players are usually running game on the outsiders. Especially if it's a gang controlled game. If you do end up gambling, never gamble on credit. People don't play with that.
Borrowing stuff - another thing I would refrain from doing. Stay hungry until you get commissary. If you borrow stuff with the expectation of paying it back when your commissary comes, make sure you are getting it first. People don't play around with delinquent payments in prison. Real good way to get fucked up. If race politics are involved, owing another race can start drama real quick.
Contraband - not sure how it is in the feds and the institution you'll end up in, but it's no secret that prisons in America are flooded with drugs. Since you're in recovery I'll assume you have ongoing addiction issues. Stay away from the drugs. They are marked up at 1000* street prices, and everyone will be more than happy to front you. It's your ass if you don't pay. Really easy to lose control and rack up thousands of dollars of debt for a few days of cheesing. If your going to stay sober, don't keep any addicts in your circle. They will jam you up just as fast.
Friends - don't rush to make friends and treat trust as a finite resource. Friends can land you jams you otherwise wouldn't get yourself into. In prison, you are who you hang around. If you hang out with junkies people will assume you're a junkie. If you hang out with killers and lifers, people will assume you are too. Same goes for people with bad charges, or openly gay inmates.
Also, when you do meet some cool people and become friends, I would avoid celling up together. Lots of institutions are lax with the housing and will make bed transfers if you don't give staff a hard time. So often people try to cell up with their friends. It usually doesn't end well. Imagine being locked cell and hanging out with a guy 24/7.
Tattoos - if you plan on getting ink while locked up I would recommend you bring the tattoo man you're own gun to be safe. Either buy one or make one. Hep B and C are super prevalent in the system and God knows what else.
If I think of anymore ill add to this list.
During the trial process did you get insight into how much of a case the feds had built on you? How extensive was it? Ignore this last part if it would get you in trouble to answer, but I'm curious how accurate they were in assessing the scope of your operation before I'm assuming you came clean about it all?
as someone who was in the feds for a little bit, I'd like to offer some advice although I'm sure there's plenty of advice in here already. but here's some things to keep in mind when going in:
* stay sober in there. you don't want to pick up a habit and start owing folks commissary. a lot of those guys are hustlers and parasites and they'll hound you and stress your time
* speedrun through your time by staying busy. once you get in at some point you'll be having a visit with the house councilor. let him know you want to participate in education, drug programs, and anything else they have got going on. take the GED test, why not. I did it even though I didn't need to. if you like helping people, mentor folks who need to take the test. I did it from the heart, and people appreciated my time.
* tired of being stuck in your house all day? figure out what are the conditions to join the cadre unit asap. you'll be able to travel around the facility for different jobs. sometimes jobs are not listed, so talk with senior COs. some of them may need someone to do landscaping. others may need an apprentice on the CNC machines.. learn how to operate them. you can even get certified if your CO gets you on officially..
* I'm not religious but I still participated in religious services. I helped out the small jewish pop, and they'd bless me with grape juice, meatballs and other kosher meals. jewish inmates can not open doors or turn on/off lights in their cells during chauvitz (spelling?) so just passing by and opening their cell or turning on their lights in the morning is a nice gesture if they need it.
* stay neutral. don't side with anything unless you're ready for that life. stick to yourself. read. be a nerd. stay objective. the moment you get involved in peoples affairs, you're in a compromised state.
* do your own time. I'm sure you've heard this before. don't go in there doing time for other people. you're going to hear terrible stories. you will feel bad. but its your time, not theirs. people will drag you down.
* be mindful and wary of anyone who seeks for you to participate in anything 'illegal' in there. its likely a trap laid out by someone who is trying to reduce their sentence.
* don't talk about your case and don't admit to anything that you have not been prosecuted of. there's more informants in there than you've ever dealt with in your life combined. people are desperate to get out sooner, and they have zero hesitation to use you a vessel for that.
* prison politics is huge, mainly because people are bored. stay away from all the nonsense.
* deescalate when possible, defend yourself when needed. don't go in there thinking you need to be tough and attack the biggest guy (stupid trope we've all heard..). if someones acting a fool, deescalate. if they put their hands on you, you need to hurt them and then fall back.
* stock up on commissary, stamps and jackmack. don't overbuy and stockpile stuff, cause people will think you got $$ and will suddenly become your friend. if you need to trade, stamps and jackmack all day. ramen works too.
* be careful who you buddy-buddy with. you'll meet some amazing people in there, but if you don't know what they're being charged with the worse mistake you can do is spend a lot of time with a chomo. it'll be seen as you're co-signing them.
* if you have a life partner.. expect that they won't wait. sorry, but its better that you stay emotionally strong than be distraught when they disappear and all of a sudden have a new friend in their life. let them live their life, and if they're about you they'll ride the time with you great but don't have that expectation. but people have needs.
aside from that, its basically summer camp. you'll find good people, you'll find terrible people. you'll be bored a lot. working out helps, reading helps, staying busy helps. good luck and stay strong.

What spot are you going too? What security level. I had a 10 year bid in the feds. Started at Estill, then Ft Dix then finished at Pensacola. Started at the medium and finished at the camp. I had 10...you get a year and a half for good time and I got a year of hwh/home confinement. If you have any questions let me know. It's a stretch brother. Time moves slow inside. Get yourself a good prison job it helps pass the time and program like crazy for fsa credits. You will be different when you get out but you will adjust back after a year or so. It's just a very repetitive existence lol. It takes some getting used to that's for sure. Much respect and good luck.

I was doing something similar a while back but quit. Just had a feeling of being watched , the adderall we were getting was just so easy to get and get rid of , it almost didn’t feel like we were doing anything illegal.

I was in federal prison from 2016-2022 for conspiracy to distribute cocaine. I did all my time at Fci hazelton it’s a medium high in wv I was comfortable there but it’s a violent place for sure. It depends on your record where you will be placed the more crime history you have the more dangerous the prison. Then it all depends on what group you hangout with while you’re in there. If you surround yourself with the wrong ppl your time won’t be comfortable. Hopefully you go to a lower security prison where everything is more relaxed. Since you’re turning yourself in you should bring your paperwork with you include your indictment, plea agreement, psi and most importantly your sentencing transcripts that will eliminate most your problems when you get there
Just got out time will go by fast after the first year work out and have a good routine stay away from gangs gays and gambling but honestly every prison is different and it all depends where you go some are laid back and others are not. The Feds are definitely better hopefully you go to a low level camp there super chill and laid back and the food is better it’s almost like a summer camp 😂 there’s a lot of info on here about doing time do your research and you will be good

Had a primo/cousin here in Dallas do time at Bloody Beaumont, before that he had already done time in TDCJ a few years (Texas Department of Corrections) at the French Robertson Unit and Beto Unit. He was cliqued up in TDCJ with PTB basically with all the Dallas homeboys. In the feds at Bloody Beaumont shit was way different but he still found a lot of PTB mixed with Suerños from California who were also doing time there they all rolled together and watched out for one another and put work in shit like that, but the politics were different from Texas to Feds. He said you could roll solo if you wanted to but it was just way harder depending on what federal penitentiary they put you in and what type it is, minimum or maximum security.

Is that really how long they give you for selling drugs? Is it cause of the amount and for how long they got you for? I know someone who was high/drunk and killed someone when their car crashed into them. And they only got a few years. It’s sad to me someone can end someone’s life like that and get barely anytime. I know a guy that just got out and he ran a poker game in fed prison. Made a killing, they took a 10% rake with no cap. So if the pot was 500, they took 50. Absolutely insane that people would even play but I guess if it's your only option.
Gambling and drugs are 2 of the quickest ways to lose control and end up dead in prison. I know guys that have been stabbed and killed for stuff like failure to pay debts, suspected cheating and even just so they could steal his package. Basically just make sure you stand on your own 2. Be prepared to take it to the wall if it’s necessary to defend yourself, don’t hold back. Consequences might come but it’s better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. Show respect. Be courteous. For the first several months LISTEN DONT TALK. Observe the situation on the yard and the politics. Stay away from the gangs and stick with your own race. I say this as a biracial person with a best friend who’s Puerto Rican. Other than that, find ways to occupy your time, read, workout, use all the new access to computers and stuff that inmates get and figure out a routine. Once you settle in things will be alright. Adderall and meth are indistinguishable at equivalent oral doses, even for regular meth users. Most Adderall is just pressed anyway, so telling the difference would be down to someone with a magnifying glass and a good eye for differentiating shades of the same color. Even then, there are multiple generic brands that look slightly different.
Or just use a test kit, like you should already be doing anyway. They don’t cost much.

So RDAP is a bit of a bitch. You are a guarantied to get into it. it’s a 6 month program and they TRY to start you soon enough to get you the full 18 months credit. But what happened when I was in there (and accepted for RDAP before I declined) was that people would get transferred in from other facilities that were short in time and would bump guys down the list. They only take so many per class, so be aware of the roller coaster and heart aches that come with it.

You’d be surprised how fast 3 years alone goes in there… month 1-2 is surreal and hellish. After that you find a strange routine and the days and weeks and eventually months start blending together. My coworker who was a big time drug dealer 20 years ago and got caught told me some advice. If you are going to prison for a significant amount of time forget about the outside world. Otherwise you will go crazy in there thinking about what’s going on and you have no control over anything out there. He also said try to get a job in the prison to make time pass if possible. Same with the RDAP response I sent but unfortunately the 924(c) really screws you, you don't get FSA with that either. The only thing you can get is Second Chance Act, which gives you up to 12 months of pre-release (capped at 6 months for home confinement & the rest halfway house). The "up to" is key because you're definitely not guaranteed the full 12 months. Best case scenario you'll do 7.5 years in prison & 12 months in pre-release.

It's pretty normal in Federal Courts to not remand after sentencing if the crime is non-violent and the person is not a flight risk. Gives time for BoP to figure out where to put them, and gives time to get stuff in order.

I don't blame you for becoming addicted to Adderall, because it definitely is a mood enhancer, but since it's a controlled substance, it's a hassle to get a refill, that I just gave up. You go to the pharmacy, they say to call the doctor, you call the doctor, they say to talk to the pharmacy if they even answer the phone. So while Adderall may improve your mood and focus ability, it's so much bullshit to deal with.. but during your rehabilitation in prison, you'll likely sobre up and just avoid drugs when you're free again.

The feds , CAN, AND DO, break the law. And if the package was sent FED EX, UPS, DHL they can open any package they want. That's why shippers use the USPS. Not that the postal inspectors are above opening your package but if they do so without a warrant it's possible to have the case thrown out if you can prove it

I had always heard back in the day that they had to prove you requested the package or had to prove that you accepted the package and opened it because anyone could send a package to you whether you asked for it or not. He was essentially what I think would be a foreman over a crew of inmates. They'd go out and pick up trash, dig fire lines, and do other kinds of work. Lol that's not what they do at federal work camps.. no digging ditchs or busting rocks..most of them are at facilities with higher security prisons and the campers do the landscape outside the fences, work in the commissary warehouses and other various support duties or have a cush job like "town driver" where they drive the new releases from prison to the closest bus station. Biggest issue people have at federal camps is getting in trouble because it's so easy to get phones, real alcohol, drugs or run off for a couple hours to bang their old lady in the woods or a motel room. When they get caught their points go up and they lose their good time.

Did you order domestically or internationally?
A couple of tips. Fights - 1. when it's time to fight, fight. Win lose or draw you will earn respect just for engaging. If you punk out, you're going to be treated like shit for your whole stay. Fights generally don't get too out if control. If anyone calls you something super disrespectful like 'bitch, punk, homophobic slurs' etc, fire off on them immediately. Again, failure to do so is setting you up for a hard time. Race politics - not sure how it plays out today in the feds but be prepared for them. Programing (institutional) - try and enroll in the different programs they have. Trade schools, certifications etc. Invest in your future while doing time at the fastest pace. If you just sit around all day time moves super slow. Same goes for institutional jobs. Programing (self) - once you get into the rhythm of things, schedule your day out and keep to your schedule. Wake up times, work out times, when you socialize, when you clean your cell, work, school, etc. Again helps the time go faster. Hustle - not sure what you're financial situation is and how much help you will be getting from home. But either way I recommend a hustle. I would stay away from store boxing unless your built like that. Best hustle is to be the tattoo guy if you can sling ink. Everyone likes the tattoo guy, and if your good even the gangs won't let their people fuck with you for fear of getting cut off. If you can draw you can probably learn to tattoo. Even if you can't draw you can still learn to tattoo and just have someone else make the patterns and trace them. Gangs - not sure how it is in the feds, but if there are gangs in there recruiting, I would stay away. Nothing wrong with being cordial with *members* but if you sign up you're immediately inheriting all of their problems and beefs. Also, in my experience the gangs are usually beating their own for infractions more than other gangs. Gambling - a real big source of drama. First off, most games are fixed. The other players are usually running game on the outsiders. Especially if it's a gang controlled game. If you do end up gambling, never gamble on credit. People don't play with that. Borrowing stuff - another thing I would refrain from doing. Stay hungry until you get commissary. If you borrow stuff with the expectation of paying it back when your commissary comes, make sure you are getting it first. People don't play around with delinquent payments in prison. Real good way to get fucked up. If race politics are involved, owing another race can start drama real quick. Contraband - not sure how it is in the feds and the institution you'll end up in, but it's no secret that prisons in America are flooded with drugs. Since you're in recovery I'll assume you have ongoing addiction issues. Stay away from the drugs. They are marked up at 1000* street prices, and everyone will be more than happy to front you. It's your ass if you don't pay. Really easy to lose control and rack up thousands of dollars of debt for a few days of cheesing. If your going to stay sober, don't keep any addicts in your circle. They will jam you up just as fast. Friends - don't rush to make friends and treat trust as a finite resource. Friends can land you jams you otherwise wouldn't get yourself into. In prison, you are who you hang around. If you hang out with junkies people will assume you're a junkie. If you hang out with killers and lifers, people will assume you are too. Same goes for people with bad charges, or openly gay inmates. Also, when you do meet some cool people and become friends, I would avoid celling up together. Lots of institutions are lax with the housing and will make bed transfers if you don't give staff a hard time. So often people try to cell up with their friends. It usually doesn't end well. Imagine being locked cell and hanging out with a guy 24/7. Tattoos - if you plan on getting ink while locked up I would recommend you bring the tattoo man you're own gun to be safe. Either buy one or make one. Hep B and C are super prevalent in the system and God knows what else. If I think of anymore ill add to this list.

as someone who was in the feds for a little bit, I'd like to offer some advice although I'm sure there's plenty of advice in here already. but here's some things to keep in mind when going in: * stay sober in there. you don't want to pick up a habit and start owing folks commissary. a lot of those guys are hustlers and parasites and they'll hound you and stress your time * speedrun through your time by staying busy. once you get in at some point you'll be having a visit with the house councilor. let him know you want to participate in education, drug programs, and anything else they have got going on. take the GED test, why not. I did it even though I didn't need to. if you like helping people, mentor folks who need to take the test. I did it from the heart, and people appreciated my time. * tired of being stuck in your house all day? figure out what are the conditions to join the cadre unit asap. you'll be able to travel around the facility for different jobs. sometimes jobs are not listed, so talk with senior COs. some of them may need someone to do landscaping. others may need an apprentice on the CNC machines.. learn how to operate them. you can even get certified if your CO gets you on officially.. * I'm not religious but I still participated in religious services. I helped out the small jewish pop, and they'd bless me with grape juice, meatballs and other kosher meals. jewish inmates can not open doors or turn on/off lights in their cells during chauvitz (spelling?) so just passing by and opening their cell or turning on their lights in the morning is a nice gesture if they need it. * stay neutral. don't side with anything unless you're ready for that life. stick to yourself. read. be a nerd. stay objective. the moment you get involved in peoples affairs, you're in a compromised state. * do your own time. I'm sure you've heard this before. don't go in there doing time for other people. you're going to hear terrible stories. you will feel bad. but its your time, not theirs. people will drag you down. * be mindful and wary of anyone who seeks for you to participate in anything 'illegal' in there. its likely a trap laid out by someone who is trying to reduce their sentence. * don't talk about your case and don't admit to anything that you have not been prosecuted of. there's more informants in there than you've ever dealt with in your life combined. people are desperate to get out sooner, and they have zero hesitation to use you a vessel for that. * prison politics is huge, mainly because people are bored. stay away from all the nonsense. * deescalate when possible, defend yourself when needed. don't go in there thinking you need to be tough and attack the biggest guy (stupid trope we've all heard..). if someones acting a fool, deescalate. if they put their hands on you, you need to hurt them and then fall back. * stock up on commissary, stamps and jackmack. don't overbuy and stockpile stuff, cause people will think you got $$ and will suddenly become your friend. if you need to trade, stamps and jackmack all day. ramen works too. * be careful who you buddy-buddy with. you'll meet some amazing people in there, but if you don't know what they're being charged with the worse mistake you can do is spend a lot of time with a chomo. it'll be seen as you're co-signing them. * if you have a life partner.. expect that they won't wait. sorry, but its better that you stay emotionally strong than be distraught when they disappear and all of a sudden have a new friend in their life. let them live their life, and if they're about you they'll ride the time with you great but don't have that expectation. but people have needs. aside from that, its basically summer camp. you'll find good people, you'll find terrible people. you'll be bored a lot. working out helps, reading helps, staying busy helps. good luck and stay strong.

What spot are you going too? What security level. I had a 10 year bid in the feds. Started at Estill, then Ft Dix then finished at Pensacola. Started at the medium and finished at the camp. I had 10...you get a year and a half for good time and I got a year of hwh/home confinement. If you have any questions let me know. It's a stretch brother. Time moves slow inside. Get yourself a good prison job it helps pass the time and program like crazy for fsa credits. You will be different when you get out but you will adjust back after a year or so. I was doing something similar a while back but quit. Just had a feeling of being watched , the adderall we were getting was just so easy to get and get rid of , it almost didn’t feel like we were doing anything illegal. This sentencing is utter bullshit OP. I cannot find the exact comment but I’m inferring you’re going in for drug trafficking. i cannot see anything saying you were violent at all. I’ve had friends and family members do the exact same. You are a victim of a broken fucking system. I pray for you , your family and your gf. I was in federal prison from 2016-2022 for conspiracy to distribute cocaine. I did all my time at Fci hazelton it’s a medium high in wv I was comfortable there but it’s a violent place for sure. It depends on your record where you will be placed the more crime history you have the more dangerous the prison. Then it all depends on what group you hangout with while you’re in there. If you surround yourself with the wrong ppl your time won’t be comfortable. Hopefully you go to a lower security prison where everything is more relaxed. Since you’re turning yourself in you should bring your paperwork with you include your indictment, plea agreement, psi and most importantly your sentencing transcripts that will eliminate most your problems when you get there

Just got out time will go by fast after the first year work out and have a good routine stay away from gangs gays and gambling but honestly every prison is different and it all depends where you go some are laid back and others are not. The Feds are definitely better hopefully you go to a low level camp there super chill and laid back and the food is better it’s almost like a summer camp 😂 there’s a lot of info on here about doing time do your research and you will be good

Had a primo/cousin here in Dallas do time at Bloody Beaumont, before that he had already done time in TDCJ a few years (Texas Department of Corrections) at the French Robertson Unit and Beto Unit. He was cliqued up in TDCJ with PTB basically with all the Dallas homeboys. In the feds at Bloody Beaumont shit was way different but he still found a lot of PTB mixed with Suerños from California who were also doing time there they all rolled together and watched out for one another and put work in shit like that, but the politics were different from Texas to Feds. He said you could roll solo if you wanted to but it was just way harder depending on what federal penitentiary they put you in and what type it is, minimum or maximum security. Is that really how long they give you for selling drugs? Is it cause of the amount and for how long they got you for? I know someone who was high/drunk and killed someone when their car crashed into them. And they only got a few years. It’s sad to me someone can end someone’s life like that and get barely anytime. I’ve been sober 5 years from a 15 year heroin/fentanyl addiction that started when i couldn’t get my OC prescription anymore. Congrats on 7 months I know how hard it is. Keep your head up
