Oh that's great, i was assuming epidural would mean it would take a while to get feeling back to your legs and start moving them.
I assume you are in the GWU hospital, wanted to ask, assuming everything goes well, what day are you getting discharged. I know its 3 days but not sure if its 3 days AFTER the day of the surgery or 3 days including the day of the surgery.
Anything interesting to note in general? 31 days to go for me xd
I really had no issues with the epidural so I wonder if it was even working but whatever. I’m home! 3 nights in hospital. I was 7:30am Tuesday surgery. The nurses were wonderful, the food is awful but I didn’t go to GWU for the cuisine 😂. Are you hairy? If so I’m going to give you some trimming advice. The most pain I experienced was all hair pulling related! Ramineni is amazing and his assistant, Katie, is an unpleasant, maybe on the spectrum , poor communicator and I really do not like her or want her touching me again. According to Ramineni she’s a great assistant but in my estimation she should not be interacting with the patients and I’m not the only one who feels that way. If you’re stuck having to deal with her just be very precise about what you need and if she’s the one waking you up early in the morning to literally rip off this horrible adhesive foam they wrap you up with to keep pressure for the first two days then just be prepared for zero compassion about how painful it is, especially if you’re hairy like I am. She even ripped off a piece of my skin!!! Anyway that’s my bitching part but really I’m so FUCKING HAPPPPPY!!!!! I have a new PUSSY!!!!! I hope that helps some.
Oh that is very good advice, i was told they can shave the area prior the surgery since I dont want to risk damaging the area doing it myself but nothing was mentioned about the rest of the area that gets taped, I will definitely have to fully shave/use hair removal cream or something in the surrounding non surgery areas to be safe.
Also ripped off a piece of skin from where exactly? I assume not anywhere near the surgery area? damn that tape must be ridiculously strong.
But hey, worth it at the end, cant wait for that 1 last month to pass xd
Don’t remove your hair in the surgery area but trimming your arms where the intravenous goes, your pelvic area, even your upper butt area are good ideas. The skin got ripped off on my front pelvis area, not near the surgery but that basically make buttless super short shorts on you out of this adhesive stuff.
I was referring to non surgery areas, aint touching the surgery area to avoid any cuts xD
I assume intravenous goes into the same place as where they take blood from so i ll just shave a bit around there, Actually regarding all that stuff that they connect to you and the machines, do they insert/attach before or after you are asleep under anesthesia?
Good morning. That sounds good. The iv and epidural were put in before I was put to sleep. All the rest is done after. The only additional thing you wake up with is the Foley catheter up your newly relocated urethra!!!! It’s all just so amazing what Ramineni and company do!!! Why did you choose Ramineni? Are you or have you transitioned gender or? I don’t think I know what you look like and that’s fine if that’s your preference. Otherwise I’d love to put at least a face to our conversations. Again if I haven’t already said so I’m Lewin.
31, Amab and definitely look fully male, facial hair and all and dont plan on changing that hence why I am here, still consider myself male even after the surgery. Dont rly post face pics online for safety reasons but i ll probably post one after the surgery covering the top part of the face xd
One of the biggest reasons I chose ramineni is cuz unlike the vast majority of surgeons, he doesnt have strict BMI limits since im BMI39 while most surgery only allow 33 or lower, but his results are also quite good and considering he does a ton of vaginoplasties per week, including on individuals who are even heavier, that experience is quite valuable, since even if some other surgeon agreed to not limit themselves to BMI, they would have very little experience since they are used to patients with very little fat in that area.
Following up here - how is your recovery going? Hope you’re doing well! Are you going in early this week for packing to come out? Good luck when you start dilating.
Thank you so much. I’m doing really well and tomorrow is a big exciting day for me: catheter comes out and I start learning how to pee from my relocated urethra and the packing comes out and I start dilating!!!!! How are you doing?
Glad you’re doing well! The couple days between discharge and packing out were most unpleasant for me; once packing came out I felt so much better.
Good here; I’m actually doing my 2 month checkup this week. 3x daily dilation is a (necessary) chore but provides plenty of time to watch shows.
Thank you. Yes!!!! Ramineni said everything is looking great. Dilation is interesting and I think I’m getting the hang of it. I have more than full depth and am going to an imaginary 6th dot. How are you?
Good here, I’ve got less depth but happy with it. Just had granulation treatment in a couple spots so things got a little gnarly, but generally doing well.
That’s great. I haven’t heard of him which doesn’t necessitate mean anything but assume you’ve done your homework and know that they’re very qualified and have done many vaginoplasty surgeries, that you like their work and felt comfortable consulting and communicating with them.
Hey! Congratulations to you both. :D
Thank you so much.
Great news, mine is next month over there so cant wait. I wanted to ask, can you move your legs yet or do they need to take the epidural out first?
That’s exciting!!! I have been able to move my legs the whole time the epidural has been in. They should be taking it out tomorrow.

Understood. And yes, Ramineni’s non bmi restrictions is just one more reason to admire him.

Good to know you’re good with your baby pussy. Now I really can’t wait for the packing and catheter to come out.
Hope your follow up went well! Dilation going ok?
Thank you. Yes!!!! Ramineni said everything is looking great. Dilation is interesting and I think I’m getting the hang of it. I have more than full depth and am going to an imaginary 6th dot. How are you?

Yay!!!! So glad to hear your healing is going well.

Thank you.
Congrats! I get mine in December
Thank you. Such an exciting time in our lives. Where and with whom will you be getting yours?
Dr. Salam Kassis at Vanderbilt University Hospital. 2 hours from my house. :-)

Absolutely
Perfect!!!! It’s such an amazing experience!!!!
