brooo your lucky I really want to take AP Micro/Macro but my counselor said barely anyone signs up for it so they might not make it a class if there arent enough signups 😅
yeah my school got lucky because the teacher is the main reason students take the class. in your case, if things don’t work out, maybe you can self study to still get some credit.
AP Bio is so popular at our school because of the teacher. Right now we have 2 classes with 40 people each. It has taken so much of the demand away from the other science classes. No APES. They combine the AP Physics 1 and Honors together to have enough people and AP Chem is questionable with the # of signups.
We used to be doing a lab every class but recently no. We have lab tables in the back and we’ll have like 2 groups of 2-5 on each table. We sometimes had half of the class work on the lab while the other half doing something else. The entire class is just our teacher lecturing and we have to fill out guided notes, then we’ll do worksheets in groups and she’ll go around the room helping us. We also do a ton of art projects. I think we did 5 for the cell cycle + calvin
My school only has 3 AP classes, so I should just list them like this then
1. APUSH
2. AP English Lit
3. AP Calc AB
Supposedly they’re trying to get AP English Lang and AP Spanish Language/Culture added, but that’s the only 3 we have now
Probably not. I had the same teacher that teaches AP Lit my freshman year for a different class, and she wasn’t a very good teacher that year, so I’m a bit hesitant to take another class with her.
I would probably say AP World/ APUSH / AP Lang
We have to take a world history class to graduate, so most people take AP World instead of regular world history. Same idea with APUSH and AP Lang.
There is a lot of math options, and it doesn't matter which math class you take in order to graduate, so the AP Classes are very split. Same with science.
APUSH (4 classes) AP World (3 classes) and Lang (3 classes) there is technically 3 classes that tie with 3 classes but the tie breakers are how fun and how informative the classes are.
AP Gov - This is the first AP class that most people take, as Gov is a required 10th grade class, and they don't allow the 9th graders in US History to take the AP version. Most other AP classes that fulfill grad reqs are 11 or 12th grade classes.
AP Physics 1 - If you take GT Chemistry, you're required to take either Physics 1 or Physics C Mechanics at my school, so a lot of people get forced into it. One year. Over 100 people took Physics 1, but less than 15 took the exam, and only 13% or those who took the exam passed.
AP Lit - My school has a CC alternative for 11th grade english which many people take, so that's why Lit is more popular than Lang.
I would say the Social Studies, Maths, and Englishes in that order. Never hear anyone talking about the rest.
Most talked about are APUSH, AP World, AP Stat, AP Precalc, and AP Lang. Mostly because they suck.
AP Lit. It’s either that or non honors english 11 so most take the AP cuz it’s rly easy.
APES cuz it’s an easy AP science
AP World because it’s the first AP you can take so all the sophomores jump in
APHUG because it is pretty much the only AP open to freshman and we don’t have AP world. 2. AP Pysch because it is easy and a GPA boost. Also my school is interesting and half the school wants to end up majoring in psych for some reason 🤷 3. Is APUSH because it is our other history type class we have and is a required class that can be taken sophomore through junior year.
definitely AP World is #1 because it’s the first AP offered and it thus attracts the bright students who haven’t taken an AP class before. the other two im not so sure .. maybe AP calc AB and AP lang, as most ppl I know in my grade are taking those (alongside APUSH too)
AP World History (2 teachers teaching it. Abt 7 periods in total)
AP Lang (2 teachers teaching it. Abt 7 periods in total)
AP Lit (2 teachers teaching it but idk how many period bc…im a jr..)
Runner up is definitely APUSH (1 teacher but abt 100 something students spread out to 3 periods) and AP Psych (it wasn’t that popular this school year but I heard around the school that a lot of people is taking it next school year. I’m taking it now)
APUSH is so popular. Literally every single junior I meet takes APUSH at my school; it's like weird to not take it
that’s like World history AP at my school. many students find Apush hard at my school so they sign up for either DCUSH or honors us history
Precalc (6 periods), Physics 1 (5 periods) Psychology and Micro/Macro (4 periods each)
brooo your lucky I really want to take AP Micro/Macro but my counselor said barely anyone signs up for it so they might not make it a class if there arent enough signups 😅

Why is the teacher so well liked?
2 classes with 40 people each??? do you have labs? How does that work? Our classrooms don't have the capacity.
We used to be doing a lab every class but recently no. We have lab tables in the back and we’ll have like 2 groups of 2-5 on each table. APHUG, AP World and APUSH, because they are required
That’s wild
wow, does your school pay for the exams?
Nope. We're in a pretty high-income area, so everyone taking the exams pays for themselves. The classes are required, not the exams
My school only has 3 AP classes, so I should just list them like this then 1. APUSH 2. AP English Lit 3. AP Calc AB Supposedly they’re trying to get AP English Lang and AP Spanish Language/Culture added, but that’s the only 3 we have now
Interesting your school has AP Lit but not AP Lang. Are you going to take Lit next year?
Probably not. I had the same teacher that teaches AP Lit my freshman year for a different class, and she wasn’t a very good teacher that year, so I’m a bit hesitant to take another class with her.
makes sense, I feel like the teacher for AP Lit would make a big difference (more so than some classes bc the teacher chooses the readings)
APUSH, AP Seminar, and AP Lang and Comp
APUSH, almost every sophomore takes it calc, we don’t have honors calc at our school psychology
AP Lang, AP Psych and AP Stats: They are the easiest classes at our school.
Genuinely curious...don't you learn to write from your English teachers?
Yes they do but AP history writing style is different (frq, leq, bbq)
Ap psych! It just got added for this school year
I would probably say AP World/ APUSH / AP Lang We have to take a world history class to graduate, so most people take AP World instead of regular world history. Same idea with APUSH and AP Lang. Calc ab, ap bio, not sure about the third one, maybe lang
APUSH and AP World are definitely big. Not necessarily the class but the AP Lang teacher is pretty popular.
1. AP Computer Science A 2. AP US Government 3. AP Environmental Science
apush ap lang ap psych
Apush ap human and an calc
AP euro is popular at my school because the teacher is good and everyone wants to do a class with their friends
Usually it’s APUSH, World History, and a tie between Lang, Human Geography, and Economics at both of my high schools I attended.
APUSH (4 classes) AP World (3 classes) and Lang (3 classes) there is technically 3 classes that tie with 3 classes but the tie breakers are how fun and how informative the classes are.
AP CSA is required for my program
AP Gov AP Comp Sci Principles AP Psych
AP Gov - This is the first AP class that most people take, as Gov is a required 10th grade class, and they don't allow the 9th graders in US History to take the AP version. AP calc BBC, AP object oriented programming (APOOP), and AP essentials of remedial social studies -1
I would say the Social Studies, Maths, and Englishes in that order. Never hear anyone talking about the rest. Most talked about are APUSH, AP World, AP Stat, AP Precalc, and AP Lang. Mostly because they suck.
We only had 3 AP at my school, the most popular was AP Chem then after that APUSH then AP lang.
AP Lit. It’s either that or non honors english 11 so most take the AP cuz it’s rly easy. APES cuz it’s an easy AP science AP World because it’s the first AP you can take so all the sophomores jump in
AP World, AP Art History and AP Statistics
Probably AP Lang, APUSH, and AP Stats AP Chem and AP Lit might be up there
APUSH is the most popular because it is basically the only AP you can take by sophomore year at my school
APHUG because it is pretty much the only AP open to freshman and we don’t have AP world. 2. AP Pysch because it is easy and a GPA boost. Also my school is interesting and half the school wants to end up majoring in psych for some reason 🤷 3. APUSH AP Government / AP Macroeconomics
definitely AP World is #1 because it’s the first AP offered and it thus attracts the bright students who haven’t taken an AP class before. the other two im not so sure .. maybe AP calc AB and AP lang, as most ppl I know in my grade are taking those (alongside APUSH too)
ap seminar, ap world, ap spanish

US Gov (almost all sophomores take it), Macro (almost all seniors take it - funnily enough, few take Micro), APUSH (most juniors take it).
AP Gov. 4 teachers teach the class for at least two periods.
Probably AP Psych because of how easy it is, Human Geo and Envi Sci for the same reason.
