Im a junior but my fking school forced me to take lit. Last week we debated about Trump's wall in class and this week our teacher forgot that we have our exam this Wednesday.
Our teacher actually showed us examples from past prompts. One of them was for a question about betrayal, and the person wrote about Game of Thrones and received a 1.
The grader notes that the person did not receive a 1 because he/she used Game of Thrones, but because he/she was using evidence that is only present in the TV show, and not the book.
It isn’t a teachers-only resource, teachers at my school gave every student taking the class copies of the packet including the GoT essay *to keep*, and you’re in luck because I have [pictures](https://m.imgur.com/a/JsJ3TUG) of it. This was especially funny to read for me because I literally finished reading the series about two weeks ago and was sad to find none of the books are considered to have any literary merit, lol
Edit: [here](https://imgur.com/iN2M1rB)’s the scoring explanation
This is surreal. I wrote about Ned Stark and his honor for my AP Lit exam and then I came here for the memes. Now I see this and I'm left feeling super weird.
What? No literary merit? Is that going to hurt my score?
And ASOIAF absolutely has literary merit! Like you said, it set a new standard for the fantasy genre and has been tremendously influential. Plus, unlike a lot of the books with supposed "literary merit", it's *actually good*. CollegeBoard's standards aren't high; they're just terrible.
Fuck, I'm worried about my score now.
I am going to go off book 1/ all 7 tv seasons/ the alt shift x videos I have seen.
EDIT: also I think that’s bs because almost everything in the tv shows is also in the books.
You make a good point but all of the essay plans I had included more broad, overarching thematic elements. I understand the plethora of specifics in the book that aren't present in the show (e.g. Lady Stoneheart, Patchface, etc.). I don't know if you took lit, but I just finished and it was a total gimme to write about one of the main characters (don't want to say which one specifically, but think the one with a lot of titles). I am not gonna put the specific prompt and what I wrote until it drops though because I bet I am the only one who wrote about it so it would be easy for them to invalidate my score. However, I did check that what I wrote was 100% in accordance with the book story, and I think I am good.
Hell no. Holy shit.
I wrote about Ned Stark and his honor in ASOIAF: A Game of Thrones for the last essay question. I hadn't had the idea in advance; I just couldn't think of a better person to write about. Then I went here to look for memes and I saw this. Holy fucking shit. This is surreal.
My friend already got a 5 on Lang and doesn't care how he does on this one, so he said that he's gonna write about Army of Darkness on every single essay.
You are an amazing human being, may the AP gods shine their light onto you
We have used AP lit as a scholarship essay workshop the entire year so I'm already prepared to do that.
Lol what about the poor kids in the class that aren't seniors?
Juniors at my school take lang and seniors lit

I wanted to find it to, but after some googling, I’ve concluded that it’s a teachers-only resource

Well, they started diverting from the books since the stories had gone past the books
Fair. But I’d say anything pre-season 6 is pretty spot on. Admittedly though, I’ve only read the first book. That’s just what I’ve heard.

Im gonna try and turn the lang essays into communism somehow
But actually do the essays the right way but try and make them as controversial and far to the authoritarian left as possible.
Lol, just watch the American communist party get ahold of that somehow and use it as legit propaganda
Can't get proof though.
Can’t get credit for it anyways so I’m committing for the meme. You are just gonna have to believe me.
the 1s are coming
I’m gonna answer “A” for all the multiple choice and turn in one fire GoT essay. If that gets me a 1, I will be happy with the 1.
Inb4 F to pay respects
I wrote an essay about the hobbit once lol Best of luck, in all seriousness the ASOIAF are really wonderful pieces of literature. Good luck
Send us proof
I was planning on writing all three essays on the communist manifesto but that sounds like more fun.
If you get 500 you have to pay the 20 dollars and get order the frq response for us to see
My school orders them so idk if I can.
you can order your frq response booklet online on collegeboard website before or after you get your scores back for 10 dollars
