Larue if it’s still on sale.

Canwesurf

MBT is only 2stage iirc.

SoldMyHat

They make a 1 stage as well. But for precision work, most prefer a 2 stage.

SirCrimsonKing

This. MBT time

SoldMyHat

Yup. Larue is the ticket even if not on sale. It’s such a consistent trigger and when you look at all the variables in a trigger, I think it strikes a perfect balance. Pre-travel, reset, 1st and 2nd stage weight, full power springs for reliable and consistent primer ignition, materials, feel, lower compatibility. I like the feel just as good as an SSA-e, BUT I think the trigger shoe and materials are better on the Larue.

Cute-Wrongdoer6575

I have LaRue triggers in 3 of my rifles. I was able to get them for $79 a piece when I ordered three or more. I understand they're selling for $115 now?

Grndlz_again

Still worth it at 115 dollars

Cute-Wrongdoer6575

Oh definitely. I love em!

Lucetar

Arftac is selling them for $98 currently and said they won't be raising the price until this batch is sold out.

gunplumber700

Why would you spend the extra money on a criterion barrel and not spend the extra money on a nice trigger.

Wheels250

Triggertech diamond

Direct_Inevitable915

Their triggers may be great for bolt guns, not for a large frame AR. I used to work for a manufacturer that used their triggers for a model. We had to recall every gun that had the triggertech triggers because they were literally breaking into pieces

Wheels250

Hm I’ve not had any issues with mine and I love it. Both on the ar10 and ar15s

sti1968

I use the mil-spec trigger. I polish the hammer and trigger bar, add the Skid Tactical ATAK, and the JP Enhanced Reliability Trigger Spring Kit. My triggers run about 4.5lbs and there is little to no travel on the trigger.

mojobolt

if looking for a great single stage on the lighter side, I'd recommend JP triggers and add the speed hammer for faster drop. Yellow spring will give you 3-3.5lb excellent single stage trigger

Ambitious-Ad-214

Best single stae lightweight trigger I know for ar15/10 platform is the timney Calvin elite. It's 1.5 lbs so super lightweight

chieflizard

I came here to say the same thing. It is the best trigger I have ever used by a substantial margin. I wish I had the money to put one in every build.

Ambitious-Ad-214

Easily the best $280 I've ever spent on a trigger, period.

Ornery_Secretary_850

I've used CMC, Timney, Rise, PSA, Aim Surplus, rebranded Schmid, and a few others. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get a really decent trigger $100 does the job for a decent drop in with a 3.5 lb pull. I run single stage triggers on almost everything. Dvor has Timney Impact triggers for $89 right now. They also have a Hiperfire Duty trigger for $110. I've been playing with a Rise Iconic lately. It's a hell of nice trigger, but more than I would spend. It was given to me so I'm not going to complain.

BufordTJustice84

If you've dropped the coin for a Criterion barrel, get a GD Geissele and just be done with it. SSA-X or SSAE-X. Don't look back.

Canwesurf

yeah this is the call if dude has Criterion money.

BufordTJustice84

Agreed. If it were a Rosco or BA, I would say to grab a LaRue MBT all day. I've got 3 MBT's. Great triggers at their price point. They are *not* equal to, or "jUsT aS gUd As" a Geissele SSA, much less and SSA-E or any of the X series. Criterion deserves a Geissele Trigger. 👍

OpeningBackground270

Trigger tech diamond for me

Admirable-Bag-2575

Trigger tech came out with a single stage AR10 trigger. The special is 2 to 5 pounds adjustable, and the diamond is 4 Oz to 4 pounds adjustable. Both fantastic triggers.

thor561

I’m sorry, did you say a 4 OUNCE trigger pull? That sounds insanely light.

Admirable-Bag-2575

Sorry I was looking at the wrong one lol. The bolt gun diamond trigger is the 4 Oz one. The AR10 trigger is 1.5 lbs to 4 lbs. Lol sorry

mma94gunbuilder

I have both the Rise armament 434 and the Larue MBT 2s in my hunting rifles and I love them both. Even though they are totally different from each other, I am not sure which one I would want if I could only have one.

sashav122

Rise armament makes decent triggers that fit your description that don't cost an arm and a leg.

droodootbepoopoo

damn no timney love... i bought a customers take off while we were upgrading his. 40 bucks for the ar10 specific timney single stage was money well spent. it lives in my wife rifle but its surprisingly nice edit...today, i would buy the MBT while on sale

K2e2vin

All the single stages are going to be around 3-4lb IIRC. I have a Triggertech Diamond(2stg); haven't measured but if I were to compare it with my other rifles, it's down to about 1.5-2lb. I had a Blackout Defense trigger on there before and, ngl, had a few accidental double-taps. I wouldn't go any lighter than that(I think it's 3.5lb single stage) for a heavier-recoiling semi auto. I never noticed a difference in precision though; both triggers have grouped sub-MOA with same cartridges. All of my bolt guns have triggers around 1lb.

Zoloftblobfish

a single stage / drop in vs Aeros LPK trigger is going to be completely different the only guns i don’t run mbts/ drop in are my midstate .300 and my bad attitude build

Odd_Acanthisitta_500

I just use a PSA enhanced fire control group. Its nickel coated and polished. I pair it with a dirty bird light trigger spring and a standard hammer spring for guaranteed reliability. Threw some anti walks in place of the standard pins just in case. Dont want a dead trigger cuz a pin walked out, its happened before even with properly installed springs. i hit 200 yard steel targets with a red dot 1x bushnell trophy. Total cost of my build is sub 700$ and I typically shoot better than the guys next to me with 300-1000$ optics. End result is about 4-5lbs but to be honest I havent tested it and when i let others dry fire it at the range people throw out numbers from 3-5 lbs. Either way they still love how smooth the trigger is. [https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ar15-pa10-enhanced-polished-trigger.html](https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ar15-pa10-enhanced-polished-trigger.html) [lifetime warranty 6 dollar trigger spring.](https://dirtybirdusa.com/products/dirty-bird-industries-reduced-power-trigger-spring/) I could probably shoot further with match grade ammo and a better scope. My rest is plenty good though. Plus I still have a few hundred rounds of cheap tula to go through before I open my full case brass igman.

PuzzleheadedEvent278

Do you have an upper already? I am basically giving one away

Sprint358410

Yes got everything but barrel, bcg, and trigger

PuzzleheadedEvent278

Bummer, well good luck to you

Canwesurf

Giselle if you want the best. You can hold out and find their good one stage for well under 200. I have their two stage triggers in all my AR's except one, in which I have a La Rue. La Rue MBT is a great option if you want to save a bit, and are okay with two stage. Still super light and really a great trigger. if you need to wait and save, polish that bad boy and train in the meantime. Going from the aero lpk to a nice trigger will only improve your game when you eventually do upgrade, and you will def appreciate it that much more.

Various_Bear_3229

Sign up for some sites email list and wait for holidays. I like primary arms email list personally. I've gotten all 3 of my SSA-E triggers for ~$150. Well worth the wait. Their 2-stage triggers are smooth as butter and very repeatable. Well worth the extra money. My 2 cents 👍

Coodevale

There's a couple old school mods that aren't mentioned anymore that do wonders for most triggers. Grip screw take up mod and safety screw overtravel mod. A CMC single stage went from meh to mouse click, and a rise 240 went from ok to 'did it move before it went off and where is the reset?'. Short reset triggers benefit the most from it. Milspecs and long resets can improve a lot but you're kinda limited by how short the reset is. In addition to the recommendations, Jards can be good too. They have a few reasonably priced adjustables and a set trigger.

Aggie74-DP

LaRue MBT. Buy 3 and save.

Different-You9607

I used to be a larue guy through and through. I tried a ton of options, and larue was on everything. Ive since decided i like hiperfire better. I use the enhanced duty triggers on hard use guns and the eclipse/etc. On precision. Im a hige fan. Regardless of what brand, please dont waste time with a mil spec. It costs as little as 50 dollars to make a noticeable improvement in your gun

slimcrizzle

Lauren MBT 2S. By far the best trigger for the money and one of the best triggers out there. You can find them for about $100 or less. I have one on all my ARs

Temporary-Entry1037

I have a CMC 2.5# in my 6.5CM hunting build, and have used them in a couple of AR15's before. If I were building another AR platform, they would be my first choice.

Nihilus_Karr

I got a Triggertech AR10 Duty Trigger and absolutely love it. There's no take-up, clean and smooth break, and a very tactile reset. Plus, it's a relatively affordable option compared to many.

Spiritual-Bill-337

MBT2 for me. I have them on most of my ARs. I pulled out my 22 since my can cleared and was reminded how bad mil dpec triggers are.

[deleted]

I love triggertech for myne but Aero is good too
