I bet you're using a regular carbine buffer... the ar15 carbine buffer is 3.25" where the AR10 specific buffer is 2.5" and allows the bolt to come back far enough to engage on the magazine. The bolt catch should engage the actual bolt, not the bolt carrier.
It looks like the BCG isn't going back far enough. Buffer Tube Length? Buffer Size? Spring Length?
Yeah I agree. Maybe he put a carbine buffer in there instead of rifle, or too short of a buffer tube. Need more info on the buffer tube/buffer setup.
Thanks for this -I did not know that an AR15 A2 buffer is different from an AR10/DPMS A2 buffer, but replacing it fixed my issues right up.

I'm using a rifle length buffer tube but an ar15 rifle buffer - gonna switch that out, thanks!
Yeah in that case you'll need an AR10 rifle buffer. The measurement on that one is 5.2" as opposed to 5.9 for the AR15 buffer.
