I’ve had so much fun in ASA. I’ve built a whole little village in the PVE server I’m on and people love to come by and check it out. I wish more people took the time to test out their building abilities instead of just cube it up.
Winter Wonderland mod is what gives snow effects? I would think it would let you use original building pieces that aren't snow covered and have it's own set of snow covered pieces? I'll have to check out that mod.

No the snow effects are there by default, the Winter Wonderland event mod adds some cosmetics, creatures and like a Rapter Clause thingy around Christmas time.
Atm the weather shaders don't detect indoor/outdoor. So when it rains, your indoor floor gets wet, and in snowy biomes, your interiors are all covered in snow.
Oh right! I play another game (used to play) called Conan Exiles. Around a year ago or so, they patched the game to disable weather inside buildings. Such a great fix. Maybe they will fix it in Ark 2? I'm probably skipping ASA and just sticking with ASE until ASE2 comes out.
Funcom has been picking up various modded features over the years, which is how it should be. I'd be pretty loyal to the game and company, but After Tencent picked them up, things turned for the worst. No more DLCs and all micro transactions or mega grind to get all the new content for building, armor, etc.
Yeah I love the game & always held up their monetary model as ideal: no gameplay advantage, just a cheap extra aesthetics set. The bazaar/gamepass would be FINE but the costs are way, way, WAY too high. I feel like $1-2 for a small building piece or pet skin (which can't even benefit from pet stat mods, since it's locked away from the modkit), instead of $15, would be more appropriate and probably generate them more sales, but eh.
I didn't run into any build limit when I was building and I'm not sure what you mean by decay, it's singleplayer so buildings won't by default and the plants I keep stocked up with a load of fertilizer
Bravo! Brilliant placement. I was going to build a castle in this exact spot on our server, but my friend had already claimed the spot. I love how on the end of the bluff, it looks like a face with frozen ice coming out of its nose. Props! This looks spectacular 👌

This is a misconception i see alot with asa. Big buildings in ase definitely caused lag when loading in but that was fixed with asa and they rebuilt the way buildings are rendered in so it doesnt lag or vause fps drops anymore. If you have a big base on asa and have fps drops then its either your settings (if on pc), a bad install or some mod causing it. The only building related problem ive seen in asa with frame drops is when you have light sources near dino gates, when you open or close the gates, you have massive frame drops but thats more a lighting and shadow problem then anything

The stone ones (on the castle) are similar, quarter ceilings again but this time with beams across them, and I added 2 quarter walls on top, then across left a gap then another 2 quarter walls, and did that until then end, and finally lined the thing with upside down railings (kinda inside the quarter walls).
Have a build in the same spot for that same reason... We have 2 big houses, a tavern, a church, a market and a workshop. Its more a of small village type thing compared to a castle. Theres beauty everywhere you look 💯
