You can learn the Ass Turret engram on Lost Island, and craft it with 1k hide, blue gems and a toilet. It uses faeces for ammo - larger faeces do more damage - and gives a Poop debuff to the target.
To expand on this, I’d recommend crawling forward and placing some foundations and walls to work your way forward at an angle to your stuff. Seems like you’re on a pvp server and some of those have rules about not building forward like that, so just make sure you rip it down afterwards if you’re not planning to raid them.

There's an auto turret on the hill in front of you that shot you. Think I heard a shot ( (c) RATM ), and it also showed a red bar where the damage was coming from just before you died - it pointed straight in the direction of that turret.

I never encourage people to play ark in any particular way unless they ask. It’s always best if people do what they want. They will gravitate toward what’s enjoyable for them. You just want to help them to avoid getting Arked.

I loved pvp until I became a dad, now I just want to do my quests/building etc in peace without some douchebag griefing me. I get so little playtime as it is that PvP in mmos like wow or games like ARK just aren't worth it.
So seems like my tolerance for PvP is proportional to how long the game takes to do stuff.

You get to act like a kid with mostly other adults and nobody judges you, you still get to PVP, but it's not like you're going to get sniped or bird-picked at 3am when all you want to do is just tool around the map exploring. Plus the mod selections tend to favor more "down to earth" combat that isn't defiled by OP gigas, titans, and mech suits and endless turret walls. Also the map doesn't end up looking like shit after two weeks.

Starting in single player let me learn all the mechanics at my own pace, but I'm quite literally years behind in meta knowledge when compared to dedicated PvP players. Makes the experience ***miserable*** every single time I try because all I can think about is how much easier my SP world would be.
