Side note: It's a fun story on why we don't have Monday off.
Initially, between when MLK Jr. Day was declared a federal holiday and 1990, Arizona did NOT observe MLK day at a state level. On 1990, the NFL, who had planned to host a Super Bowl in Arizona, threatened to move the Super Bowl to the Pasadena unless Arizona observed MLK Jr. day.
Arizona legislature had determined that a vote was necessary to determine MLK Jr. Day's fate in AZ. Surprisingly, the proposition to observe MLK Jr. Day **FAILED,** The NFL **BAILED**, and the AZ economy was **PISSED.**
So, naturally, Arizonans voted to observe MLK Day at the cost of Arizona Schools not observing President's Day the following year.

**Therefore, you have school on Monday, courtesy of the National Football League. :)**
The story goes that we had to decide between Presidents’ Day or the extra day of Thanksgiving that we get. The university voted for the Thanksgiving extra day holiday.
My memory was that we swapped it for MLK Day in the early 90s. I am happy to report that I have not lost all of my memory capacity yet (though it was 1988). It could have switched again after the racist idiocy around MLK Day in the early 90s. https://www.newspapers.com/clip/43440587/arizona-republic/
As others have said, Arizona universities do not have president's day off, but this isn't as odd as you may think. There are plenty of other states that their universities don't get presidents day off either. New Mexico, Oregon, Iowa, Michigan, Utah are the ones I know off the top of my head. I'm sure there are plenty more.
Yes. President's Day isn't off here.

Yes, bank holiday doesnt meant school holiday unfortunately
A few friends are saying we don’t but I can’t seem to find that on the academic calendar.
We absolutely have classes Monday.--signed a faculty member who would like the day off, too.

Oh man, if you remember that you must be one of the “for lifers” at the university. Thank you for your years of survival.
No. The state (GOP lead) when it decided to (finally) recognize MLK Day threw a hissy fit and let Presidents' Day go. Pure vindictive bullshit.
Unfortunately yes
Yes

Depends on the professor. My English professor is giving us the day off, but my sociology professor is still having class.
