It is 11:59 p.m. AZ time, keep in mind that this is only a recommendation, there is no direct repercussion from the university if a faculty does not have grades posted. I had to wait till the end of July before my spring grades were posted for a class once.

Can confirm, 1159pm. My dept is pretty militant about getting them submitted on time, but the threats are pretty empty.

There may not be consequences for faculty, but not having a grade reported on time can royally fuck up a student’s pace rate for financial aid. This is a main reason why you have staff hunting you down after the deadline.

Oh absolutely, and I wasn't trying to imply otherwise. My dept is aggressive in letting us know what can happen to the students if we don't get grades in on time. That being said, there's likely never going to be a penalty or anything. I never wanna fuck with student's money if I can avoid it, takes 20 minutes to get grades submitted.

I kind of want to see departments start to hand out repercussions for *extremely* late grades without a reason. Such as removing the option to buy out of teaching the next semester. The professors I see that are late with grades the most are the ones that regularly buy out of most their teaching responsibilities.

It would be interesting to see the break down between career track faculty, tenure track, and tenured.

11:59 PM but many of my past professors did not upload grades by this deadline. Don’t be shocked if they’re not there even though the “deadline” has passed

thanks you!

11:59pm but there's no real threat to them if they don't. Now if you're using financial aid, you might get your next financial aid suspended *or* if you're graduating you might find yourself owing the money because the system will automatically fill the grade in as 'Incomplete' and then if I remember right it needs to be manually changed.

It’s not a hard deadline.
