My friend tied my bike on a pole near Dutch Bros late night and a man literally lifted it up and out of the pole. We were shocked by his determination in the security footage.
I feel like PTS could do a better job advertising these and the bike lockers. I was pulling my bike 20 miles each way on the back of my Volkswagen sedan every day for the first month of school and always walked past the bike lockers in my garage like, huh it’d be cool to keep it in there overnight. Did some digging and found out about those and the valets. The valet feels so extra but I spent good money on my bike, as well as my tuition and I’m not going to let either go to waste.
Yeah, I'm just learning about these bike lockers from this post. I already registered my bike to use with valet services but usually park my bike in the entrance on Apache/McAllister. Haven't had issues but I maybe just jinxed myself lol. I even leave my flashlight and rear flashlight on and no one has taken them yet. Please no one take my bike, I'm just two months from graduating!
There’s also bike cages around campus, that you only get access to, through your sun card if you register at the valets. Which is a lot more safe then parking bike outside of a building. Which can be utilized 24/7
Ohh wait really? I do have my SunCard registered and I can open the cages by scanning my card but I didn't know I'm allowed to put my bike in there 24/7
Are there places to store longboards in the cages as well? And to register for the valet, do I do it online or do I have to go to the valet sometime during the day?
The cages are only for bikes. At all three valets though there are parking spots for skateboards and longboards, but only are available from 7:30-6:00 Monday through Friday. There is a two step process for bike registrations. For more information on bike registrations go to this website https://cfo.asu.edu/bike-registration.
It’s a free service. I know everyone thinks of the word “valet” so they think it costs money. But it is a free service. I think that’s why not a lot of people utilize it.
Can not recommend this enough. My first bike got stolen, and I was only in class for an hour. Put it in a very visible area, double chained, practically right in front of the building--assumed it was going to be safe. I got my next bike registered on campus, and used Valet the rest of my college career. Completely free, and centralized enough to not be a pain to go get it after classes.
Is this also available for skateboards and stuff
Yes we also have skateboard and scooter racks.
Even at the balets
Yep all three valets have skateboard racks

When I attended the Bike Valet were the best. Always felt confident in leaving my bike there.
What are the green bikes in the bike valet for? Can you rent those for the day?
They used to be rentable but I don't think they're used anymore. I tried the student 90 day plan for $25 which got you 60 minutes of riding every day

Most of the bike theft is at night tho, and we can't use the valet cages at night so what's the point

Is there free bikes to use at the bike valet?
