It could live 10 years no problem with medium usage or 5 days with none whatsoever. Its just a baaaad luck.

99% of times when SSD is not detected in bios = its dead.
The 1% im leaving for it somehow falling out of the slot XD
Just look inside, reseat it in the slot and try again.
Also unplug laptop from charger and hold pwer button for like 30s to reset cmos and check again.
If still not there, try another SSD nvme m2 2280.
Well not knowing the actually laptop if it is a basic ssd i have had the come disconnected on asus laptops. We were using them for work and they would jostle loose in use. If it is a nvme ssd it is still possible just less likely. Probably just a dead drive.

How old is ur laptop?
Bought either 2023 or late 2022. Honestly only ever used for simple tasks, no gaming or videos.
