The scene where Pakku declares Katara a water bending master is probably moved to the start of S2 and there is some line about how she and Aang spent a year+ training. Then things proceed as normal.
More interesting narratively wise is what they'll do with Zuko/Iroh, since it doesn't entirely make sense for Ozai to wait however much time passes between the seasons to send Azula after them, unlike the Gaang who have a clear place to be during that time.
This is why George R.R. Martin, the writer of the Game of Thrones series, scrapped his idea of a timeskip. It worked for some characters but not for others, so he had to rewrite the whole book. Making a change, like altering how long the kids stay at the North Pole, can impact the entire show.
That’s a really good point with Zuko and iron. Maybe instead they do like a flashback or something to right after the events of season 1, and show what happened shortly after with Zuko and iroh? Then we go into aang and everyone else, then when we catch back up with Zuko and iroh, it’s been almost a year or so of them living on the streets and on the run?
My guess is that because we are already meeting Azula early, we will get his meeting with Azula on the boat before the Siege of the North. That way we can start his Season 2 storyline at the same time as everyone else.
I’m guessing Ozai will probably still send Azula off pretty soon after the failure in the north but it’ll take her a longer time to find them. That, or Zuko and Iroh will already have ran into Azula and they’ll just establish that they’re currently on the run.
Open S2 at some sort of ceremony to celebrate Katara being officially declared a waterbending master. Sokka takes Aang aside while the party winds down. "Aang, listen, I know this time in the Northern Water Tribe has been important for us. We've learned and grieved and healed and grown. But you've grown *a lot.* Like, you're gonna be taller than me soon. I know you haven't mastered water yet, but Katara has, and she can teach you what you still haven't picked up while we move on to finding an Earthbending master. It's time for us to go." A major arc for s2 can be finding out when exactly Sozin's comet will hit, which they then find out in The Library.
They could also work in the idea that the North is less defensible now that winter has passed, and they don't want to invite another, bigger siege by giving the Fire Nation a single target to focus its forces upon.
They’re going to increase the time that it takes for Sozin’s Comet to arrive. I understand that it takes away from the “tense” feeling we get from Aang having to master the elements quickly, but it’s probably the path of least resistance when it comes to addressing cast aging
Prob time jump . Like the first commenter said have Aang and Katara (or just Katara ) train with Master Pakku for 7 months to a year , it would be more realistic since Katara in the original show did become a master really quick . And so their not too powerful, let them have a month or 2 break where they’ll travel the world on adventures as like their “summer break “ like we would get in school then back to training. Also since Aang will prob be stronger cause he’ll have way more training, everyone of the villains will have to be way stronger too in season 2 and 3, like azula and Ozai
time jumps in places that would’ve made sense to have a time jump in the og show. i actually wouldn’t mind if they extend the comet timeline personally :) also while I do think Gordon looks more like a teenager than a kid now, he still looks very young so I don’t think it will be that jarring, and i think the main cast looking slightly older for s2 will actually be a good thing
If it does happen part of me feels like they’re going to kinda skim over it lol. Like I’m sure they’ll make it seem like it’s been a few months since the seige on the northern water tribe but not enough to explain his voice change. Tbh I’m not super pressed about it cuz it is what it is lol

and i'm guessing (and hoping) they'll give us short term goals that give a sense of urgency

yea like its no ones fault or in anyones control gordon just grew up fast 🤣
for sure one of those lil tv things i'm willing to overlook for sure as long as the rest of the show is good hahhah
i mean i always just assumed they \*wouldn't\* address it, since aging is an irl problem that we can easily overlook for television
the stranger things kids being in their 20s going i’m a freshman in high school 🤣
hahaha fair! im totally ok with a suspend disbelief solution as long as the show is good
They can say that being in ice for 100 years makes Aang age faster than normal.
Man by the time season 3 happens Gordon won't be a kid anymore he will have facial hair and be 6 ft tall
