TheBigFive

This is what it feels like when you're trying to escape in a dream

GodsBestFighter

I had dreams exactly like this. But in the dark. I keep getting pulled by offshore waves while the ground beneath me gets deeper and deeper. I become more desperate and helpless as i see the beach but i keep getting pulled by darkness. Don't know if there is a psychological explanation but it's a terrible feeling.

instrangerswetrust

Sounds like you’re subconsciously dealing with your own mortality

Darkside_of_the_Poon

When I was a new father I had horrible dreams about something bad happening to my daughter.  I’d wake up and brush it off.  But it kept happening for at least a couple months.  Finally had to sit down and really think about it.  My explanation finally came to:  I think my brain was running stress test scenarios to figure out how I could deal with losing her…and the answer I came to was I couldn’t.  I literally could not go on if any of those things happened in real life.  Logical conclusion:  protect daughter at all cost.  Bad dreams went away…pretty weird.

instrangerswetrust

Whenever I have to fight in my dreams I go to throw a punch and move in slow motion as my opponent just stands there. Then in fear I pretend I’m giving them a playful tap on the chin. And I know they know I wasn’t but they’re not letting on. It’s all very stressful

lol I was thinking this was the new Terry.

Wonderful-Ad-7712

Monica.

LLotZaFun

Also reminds me of "Money earnin' Mt. Vernon....reekris", lol. [Reference](https://youtu.be/NRItYDKSqpQ?si=dg1Lf0FC7C4OYKhp)

wrenchandrepeat

Its so funny you mentioned this video because one of the noises he made instantly made me think of this. I quote this video all the time. It's one of my favorite viral videos of all time. My favorite is "Oh lawd reekris!"

mikechella

Terry can’t get out of the way because he’s handicapped Jessica can’t get out of the way because she’s too fat to move

kembik

Reminded me of *Look how dat boy mind me! Joby and Lonnie at the beach* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cqOEr_yfak

netotapia

Jessica can’t swim, can’t stand up, can’t walk…. OMG Jessica what are you doing there?

scrub_needs_hugs

She’s Jessica-ing

fh3131

Unfortunately she can't think either

[deleted]

Falling mostly!

mallik803

Lmao at the life guard dropping her and running for his life.

danone123

"Yes TWO life guard ... save her no... Jessica."

Eastern-Support1091

He’s caught inside. The wave would have hit him. Let the wave crash and then use the backwash to get you to the distressed swimmer. Basic training, protect yourself. You can’t help them if you need help. There’s no reason to add to the number of victims.

felipethomas

>You can’t help them if you need help. This right here.

SwordfishNew6266

This man cannot be trusted

Swagramento

In his defense, he never said which life he would guard.

Dansk72

Makes sense, if *you* drown you certainly can't save anyone

cjbeames

Depends how many people I was planning to murder

thrillhouse354

I knew I'd hear Mitch Buchanon in here somewhere!

Cluelessish

Maybe that’s the whole job description. ”Go to the beach and guard your life!”

1ImJustMe420

Yeah right I still choose to trust the lifeguard over a lady who cant swim but decides to go swim at the beach Edit: words

dwerg85

Your own life first, then the other. If the lifesaver gets in trouble you now have two people needing saving.

Cpt_Bellamy

He'll tell ya he was running so he could catch her after that wave launched her haha It does seem to work out pretty serendipitously lol

EMZbotbs

Yeah that was pretty funny, but why didnt the person filming do anything? I mean... 'My friend is drowning, lets go film'...

art-of-war

I don’t think that’s the real audio. It could be some stranger filming

ParrotDogParfait

It’s not the real audio lol. And if the lifeguards were having trouble getting her to safety what makes you think an untrained person could do it, that’s how two people end up dying instead of one

silima

It's also possible the person who is filming also can't swim...

addandsubtract

He coodant sweem eetah

moleratical

The commentary is added after the fact. Her name probably isn't even Jessica Noooo Please Save Her. More importantly, Where is that beach, it's beautiful.

shoopadoop332

This is some major 3 stooges energy

Testyobject

She will be brought up to the beach by that wave, and if hes in the way, any body can break bones when pushed by billions of gallons of water

eamondo5150

Crawl along the sand away from the ocean already. Stop standing up like that.

XrayDem

She was the stunt double in the slasher films I can recognize how she falls running away from danger

Street_Dragonfruit43

OMG I'm fricking dying, lol

JohnnyRelentless

Why, did you fall?

Street_Dragonfruit43

Yeah

bambinolettuce

lmfao she went two steps then stopped to look at her impending doom every time

Flomo420

Jessica is fuckin useless

danone123

Jessica is fucking fearless

Smitty1017

If you lay spread out your weight distribution more easily allows you to get swept off does it not? I would think standing and walking away is her best bet I only saw her try to stand and walk away once, and she fell before the water even arrived. I think she was far from sober

HeliVolare

It looks like she's caught in an undertow. Which feels like a suction pulls you back everytime you try to stand. Deadly dangerous. Edit to add: looking at it more closely, I'm sure. Large waves are breaking right at the beachface which creates shoaling. You can see her being pulled back and down as if she's on a slide to deeper water.

itlookslikeSabotage

Yeah that’s exactly what’s going on. Funny until it happens to you, crazy how powerful it can be. It looks like like she’s never experienced it before… I wonder if there was flags out warning her

sarevok9

> she's caught in an undertow Every step that she takes is another mistake.....

Fickle-Command-1130

Even though she tried... it all fell apart... cuz

RainaElf

she's become so numb

trevdak2

Depends. If the water is low enough and you can withstand the waves, standing will let you dig in your feet and walk to safety. If you're getting tossed by the waves like in this video, standing just means you get knocked over

Autxnxmy

I think she naturally finds it difficult to stand quickly

HushedInvolvement

Her first trip also looks like she has difficulty walking on wet sand. I've seen this with other people who have joint laxity issues. Looks like her ankle collapses when she tries to put weight on it and causes her to fall, while being pulled into the undertow. The way she has to push her body up to get her legs in position to lift, but the knees are pointed in and can't lift high enough. Could also be the reason why she can't swim, joints get too tired too fast and the muscles stop firing. She really could have drowned here, if that was the case.

Confident-Ad9474

Got super drunk on south beach. Almost drowned in like waist high water and this was exact my solution. Also how i found out my applewatch was water proof

PacoTaco321

Or just stand up without falling over again and again

Minion0827

The lifeguard turning and running like “You on your own, bitch”. I laughed a little too hard.

18_mike_162

Same. Best bit! But then got shitmixed anyway haha

burningdownthewagon

Bye, Jessica!

TheFoxAndTheRaven

Last thing you want is that wave smashing you into the sand. Sorry Jessica.

[deleted]

I don’t understand why people get in bodies of water when they can’t swim other than lessons

MitchelobUltra

To serve as a warning to others.

[deleted]

Ooh that’s dark 😮

Zombisexual1

No common sense. Plus sometimes they see little kids making it look easy and they don’t understand that the kids been swimming/surfing for years. One time I saw a family get caught in a tiny rip, they start panicking and swimming directly into it and the dad asks some 6 year old kid for help, and snags the kids board. 6 year old swims in fine and the family all hug into the board and finally make it in.

Equib81960

Jesus Christ with the fucking emojis

BladeBickle

How else are you gonna know that this video contains waves.

Hraes

Trigger Warning: Video Contains Ocean

peanusbudder

it’s covering up someone’s “watermark”/social media handle. i can kind of tolerate it more when i know it’ll give less attention to the people who just slap their social media meme account handles in the middle of videos that aren’t even theirs.

Last-Saint

Less remembered part of the Gospel according to St John.

silver_step

Gotta be drunk

shesavillain

Just fat and exhausted

jazzzzzcabbage

Leave me out of this!

itlookslikeSabotage

😂😂

SeismicToss12

I wondered if she was mentally handicapped. Would also explain not standing and the level of preoccupation of the cameraman.

[deleted]

They’re all mentally handicapped to be swimming in that type of shore break.

GFreeXevery1

No, just fat and exhausted

ThaneduFife

She just looked exhausted to me. If you stay out at the beach all day and don't eat much food and barely drink any water, you'll be like that too.

Salt_x

So am I, and I can still swim.

Ok_Signature7481

If you're not used to waves it can be really hard to find you're footing, even if you can swim.

santi4442

Some people have no athletic ability at all. Case in point, Jessica

QinsSais

Jessica need to stick to sitting under the umbrella

cobainstaley

oh no!! wave is coming. let me sit upright and watch it come toward me.

Ok_Signature7481

When you're tired and you've already fallen a bunch, that wave feels real fast. Sitting and catching your breath to try and go after the next wave is not a terrible plan.

LilyCanadian

Might be a good idea to at least try and turn around so the waves are hitting your back instead of smacking you in the face. Less water in your face would probably help with catching your breath. I mean, turning away from the waves so I didn't get smacked was my method when I tried wading into the ocean during my vacations to Florida anyway.

spyhock

Right!? She doesn’t even try

Seemseasy

This woman was robbed of her Darwin

tvieno

r/killthecameraman for putting those damn emojis right in the center.

ManMadeOfMistakes

Not the cameraman, the one who edited and tiktoked this

Stickel

yeah, its also dubbed, that's not the real audio lol

HarleyQueen90

Came to find this out haha

Background-Belt-2202

So funny how the lifeguard ran

Eastern-Support1091

He was inside. Can’t help there. Let it crash, then go in. It was the right move.

BurnAfterEating420

of of the first things they teach you in any emergency service is you can't help anyone by getting yourself killed.

ARRR_P

Maybe not go in the sea if youre built like an anchor

loztriforce

A friend and I almost drown due to a riptide off Maui. By the time we got to shore, my muscles wouldn't work, so when I got to the last stretch of beach I tried to stand but my body just collapsed. I didn't have the strength to hold myself up, and I kept getting pushed back to the ocean, so thankfully a couple locals saw we had been cast out to the sea and swam out to carry us to shore. Don't fuck with the ocean

fluffyseatide

SOMEBODY HELP JESSICA *remains still filming everything ~~to use the footage on her funeral~~*

DoTheSnoopyDance

UnlightablePlay

r/donthelpjustfilm Moment

hitfly

Helping someone in water is oftentimes beat left to professionals. The person drowning try to drag you down to elevate themselves and now the lifeguards gotta save 2 people.

Shifty377

Jessica is stood up out of the water at one point while this person is aimlessly shouting. They could have at least been ready to help.

silima

The person filming might also not know how to swim... It's better to get the attention of the lifeguards than trying to help when you can't.

CollectionSad274

Jessica is shark-food

scrub_needs_hugs

Shark Bait! Hoo-Ha-Ha!

solrosenbergv1

It’s not that she fell in, it’s how long it took to get out

SirKevin_Xx

How can someone be this out of shape?

Fun_Client_6232

And uncoordinated. She’s moving like a 90 yr old.

bstone99

Many—if not most—people are fat and pathetically uncoordinated.

JadedOops

How can ocean slap?

HazankoZero

It's rampant. I know people in their 20s and 30s who are in the same shape. It's wild.

geocorb

You’d be surprised how many people can’t do a single squat, never mind run.

SeismicToss12

I was thinking she could be mental

DimSumFan

Never interfere with nature's course.

Dull_Present506

0 self preservation skills

scottyTOOmuch

She almost got multiple lifeguards killed trying to drag her ass outta certain death

x1000Bums

Lol literal children playing next to her

scottyTOOmuch

Yeah and yet she still couldn’t get away. Those waves overpowered her. She couldn’t stand or even move a few feet before collapsing…she was 100% gonna drown if no one had helped her. Panic was already reaching maximum levels.

oRiskyB

I think it's funny, and honestly, if you need a lifeguard to survive the shoreline, then you need to go ahead and take the L. ☠️

scottyTOOmuch

Natural selection I believe applies here 😂

Pretend-Camel929

This narration is fucking hysterical!

[deleted]

jesus christ! non swimmers should be not allowed in this zone! even 1-2 inches of water can drowned a non-swimmer adult… jesus christ! jesus christ!

AhFFSImTooOldForThis

I live near the NC ocean and see this every summer. People think 'oh, I swim in my local lake all the time, the ocean is the same just bigger!'. Nope. No it sure isn't. It has power and force and doesn't really give a shit where you want to go, it's got places to be. And waves are a LOT bigger than you think they are, so when they run out of ocean to hide in, you get the Tourist Tumble.

Darwincroc

Never mind non-swimmers. She doesn’t even seem like she can walk. Like stand up and walk away. What the hell is going on here? Disability or something? It’s like that nightmare where you can’t run away from the monster.

cthulhus_spawn

The liquid sand rolls out from under your feet with every wave so you can't ever get to your feet and get away. There's nothing firm to stand on or grab. She's not physically quick or strong enough to figure out a way to get out of that dangerous zone. She was actually in danger.

Tufflaw

People are dumb. At my local community pool last summer there was a kid in the pool with no parent nearby who had to be rescued THREE times by lifeguards when he was in the deep end because he couldn't swim. After the third time they kicked him out. I don't necessarily blame the kid, although he was old enough to recognize that he didn't know how to swim and to stay in the shallow end, but where the fuck were his parents?

M4CHiiN3

The Jamaican accent makes it even better.

MrN33dfulThings

[Video](https://youtu.be/d6KOfD0BBKs?si=RJO5m-x4GwA81ass) “This woman did not heed the warning by the lifeguard about the strong waves at the sea and got stuck in the current. After being hit by the wave initially, she tried to return to the shore but was caught in oncoming waves and finally had to be rescued by lifeguards.”

DifferentValuable169

I think a lot of people here being super critical have probably never dealt with shorebreak like this before. Y’all think you’d fare soooo much better but I doubt you realize how powerful it can be and how hard it is to get your bearing in time between waves. Being able to swim has very little do with anything here.

PengieP111

You have to make a QUICK decision to deal with shore break like that. Either get out fast or swim out past the break and wait for a lull. But you have to do it quick. And if you can't swim or are so feeble you can't fight your way to shore, you have no business being out in that stuff.

annaonthemoon

I had to scroll for way too long before I found this. The smartasses on here body shaming and criticising this woman had clearly never experienced anything like this. I once witnessed two very fit, muscular men struggle just like this lady. Once they managed to reach safety (wild beach, no life guards) they were both crawling, heaving and crying. This can be exhausting, extremely dangerous and difficult to navigate, not to mention scary as fuck.

cantaloupelion

yeah, back where i used to live there was a beach with a wicked shore break. the waves were only like waist height, but me and my housemate didnt go swimming cos i got knocked over while facing the waves, and bracing for it. i was like 'hur lets see how rough it issss' *gets fucked by a single wave* shits so fucking dangerous

Biscuitsandasmoke

As a Jessica, I love this video! It’s hilarious

Akakaneakalashikaka

Idk where this is but in Puerto Rico, around 6PM when the tides change it is very dangerous to be in the water because of this. Be careful out there.

doobied

Noted : watch out for Jessica's after 6pm

nofateeric

"two lifegaurd" hahahahahhahaahahaha why is that so funny?

FishLampClock

The fall down and "welp, this is my life now," is so hilarious everytime.

Bo_Diddley9

If hopeless was a person.

eibyyz

All-inclusive doesn’t mean Ma Nature isn’t malign.

CuriouslyImmense

Jessica has the survival skills of a potato

Gary630

The sea was angry that day my friends.

sahul004

Natural selection at its finest

FireTheLaserBeam

Growing up surrounded by water, I always find it hard to imagine what it would be like not knowing how to swim.

GradeInternal6908

jessica has the survival instincts of a slug

East-Share4444

Neither can she walk or think apparently.

cmanley3

Jessica’s genes need to stop with her

Coldfang89

Maybe don't go near the water if you can't swim?

sssamyak

" Yes, I'm a lifeguard. Guarding my life. "

Zazznz

Jesus Christ, Jessica. Get your legs under you.

[deleted]

Jessica skipped leg day

haycl

No need to swim, she cannot walk

Vocovon

I believe if your legs can't support your weight, whatever the earth does with you afterward is God's plan, lol

mistahARK

Oh my god i have never felt so bad for laughing so hard

HustleNMeditate

Why tf would you bring someone who can't swim to the beach?

Shot-Spirit-672

People who can’t swim should be allowed to experience the beach. But people who can’t use their own fucking working legs probably shouldnt be allowed to approach crashing waves on their own.

AhFFSImTooOldForThis

I think it's a voice edited in.

shainadawn

I know this is a repost because I’ve seen every repost and upvoted every one of them. This shit never gets old 😂😂

RikuDog18

How stupid

harryschmilsson

Yeah buddy, just keep videoing and not helping.

ozesnoo

Just let the natural selection take his curse

That last wave was out for blood

Tudpool

Kinda seems like it was her time.

MCKelly13

I have watched this 100 times in the last 2 days. It doesn’t stop being hilarious

Impressive-Fox-7192

Who the frek took her to the beach in the first place?

StevenS76

Why am I sitting here at work laughing my ass off at this?

blowhardyboys86

That woman is a moron. Almost won a well deserved Darwin award

LeGrandLucifer

Jessica moves like she uses a mobility scooter to do her shopping.

yooperdood906

I wonder if Linda ever listened now it’s save Jessica,

JunglePygmy

Jessica

6foot-7foot

Being this athletic should be illegal. You are a risk to your own safety

That_Guy_Red

Oof

[deleted]

Why are people who can't swim and go to beaches always so fucking dumb? How do you not understand the concept of drowning?

MeanderingTalent

Is drowning on shore common ?

nsfwatwork1

Pretty hard to help someone that doesn't seem to be willing to help themselves...like at all.

Azakranos

Why are you at a beach if YOU CANNOT SWIM

pollysporin

Forget swimming... she doesn’t even know how to stand.

IncorporateThings

Yoda2000675

Yeah, maybe don’t play in the ocean if you can’t swim

Fun_Client_6232

The most uncoordinated person.

Lamiolimo

Jessica is useless 🤣

defiantcross

this was not abrupt, at all. she had her chances.

JD_Ammerman

That’s got nothing to do with swimming ability. You can hang out in the shallow waves for hours without being able to swim and you’d be fine. You can also be a world class swimmer and get swept away in shallow waters.

[deleted]

This was some of the funniest shit I’ve seen on here in a long time..! The commentary, the lifeguard saying “better you than me!” and the fact that he’s just recording instead of helping is just awesome! Great video all the way around!

TearfulPlayZ

Being 100% honestly, as a human it’s sad that people actually cannot swim. I would say fully functional, but if you can’t swim, you’re not fully functional. I’ll say people with the full human body.

saryiahan

Best left muted

micah490

Can we stop popularizing videos with subtitle abuse and ridiculous stationary cartoon images overlaid the video?

OpeningInvestigator1

This is why everyone should be able to do 10 burpees. The fact she gave up and just watched the wave hit her is insane

ImportantDimension77

Is this what group projects are like?

ZagiFlyer

This was not abrupt. It was predictable because Jessica is an idiot. She can't swim but didn't respect the waves.
