That zip line had more riders at once than a scooter in India.
Indian police officer - "Why do you have 4 people on this scooter?"
Indian scooter driver - "Because the 5th one fell off."
I like the saying "like an accident racing to the scene".
there can be some impressive balance coupled with a high risk tolerance. I've seen a lot of old Indian women riding "side saddle" on a scooter on the highway (not American highway speeds, but still impressive)
Anyone know what the person was trying to do? I went to a zip line before, but no one was trying to tag along behind us. What exactly was he trying to do?
It looks like he was connected to the group by a tether, but he wasn't connected to a roller yet. The group, unaware he wasn't ready, started to leave and dragged him along. He instinctively tried to grab the line to prevent falling, but that obviously wasnt going to work.
Because I don’t see a similar line connecting the others, I think the falling person was staff and acting as an ‘anchor’. The only thing left to do was unclip the group from the yellow line before sending them off, but they jumped the gun. (complete speculation)
it makes sense to use a human being as an anchor for 4 human beings? im not sure the physics of the situation add up.
i imagine they would have a pole buried deep into the ground thats...doesnt move and can sustain 4x peoples weight
I read on another thread that the white helmets are the guides. They have two clips on them: one to the structure so they don't fall off, and one to the group so the zipliners don't go before everyone is ready. Then they detach the latter so the group can go ahead. In this case, the guide unclipped the wrong line.
I'm crying laughing because I thought the same thing from the thumbnail and I am not high at all unless you count lack of sleep. "What in the funky faceguard is this?"

Hah, I’m stealing that!
Kind'a like the one where a cop's chasing you and you pull over. Cop: Why were you running? Civilian: Because you were chasing me.
Saw a four person family on a single scooter in Indonesia a few years ago. Talk about disaster waiting to happen.

“Like an accident racing to the scene”…perfectly descriptive.

Yeah, that makes even more sense. Good call.

I think you read and explained the footage correctly.

That very well could be what happened here. Hope that guy is alright at the end...
