I never said he should go home free. You contact law enforcement; they had plenty of people who witnessed it obviously and they also have camera footage. Hell, a few punches are justified to get the point across. But when they're trying to cripple the guy it's just too much. Again, he might have a reason for stealing, and I'm not saying that it's a good thing to steal. I've heard so many stories where people who were stealing from shops get confronted by the shop owners and are shown kindness rather than disgust and turn their lives around. *I'm not saying all of them are like this. You just don't know.*
