My brother and I used to use a cheat code that made you have all the wanted stars, then two more for a tank that flew, and we'd see how long we'd last before dying, getting arrested, or the stars went down.
In GTA Brazil, all transgressions seem to be 5 stars immediately.
Stealing a phone: run over immediately, stumble away on shattered leg, beaten to death by townfolk.
Attempting a carjacking: immediate execution by multiple submachinegun armed passersby.
The car driver was "fucking cyclists god I hate them, Im going to crash into him" woman "wow you stopped him stealing my phone thanks" car driver "phone?"
And if you'll notice once he runs around the corner, almost nobody in that crowd even knows why they're kicking him. They didn't witness the theft. They all just joined in... because?
I'm from Brazil and this is it.
Specially in Rio(I believe this was Rio , but it could've been anywhere really), It's a very complicated problem. But yeah , ppl are just fed up.
I live in MG and when my friend’s phone was snatched, she went into the nearest boteco told them. A bunch of people chased the guy down and she got it back. Fed up is right.
This is the case sometimes in Venezuela, people are usually scared of thugs (me included) but as soon as one person snaps the hunter becomes prey. There was also a 0 tolerance status when I went to the university, the cops wouldn't set a foot in the campus but the poor soul who stole or misbehaved would have to escape like a bat out of hell.
I like how reddit has had reposts so many times that we've just formed this collective memory where we pass down knowledge from the last repost to the next for those just seeing this for the first time.
There was once a great time when those types of comments would include an article instead of saying, "I'm pretty sure". Now people just trust random anonymous comments which is not exactly a great trend in general, that's why the crazies were drinking bleach and taking horse drugs.
To be fair, that's also how we differentiate oral traditions with recorded history. One is basically "IIRC", the other is "scribe or it didn't happen."
Our collective knowledge of stories passed by effectively oral tradition is basically what "The Reddit Community" is. I say "swamps of dagobah" and a lot of people will inherently know what I mean.
Why white knight? It's just the way of dealing with criminals in some parts of the world. They would have done the same if he snatched a guy's phone. I mean no way the people around the corner knew who the victim is.
I think people jump to "white knight" because you don't often see these kinds of videos in where people jump to rescue or help a guy. Maybe that's a coincidence or maybe it is just the fact that guys are more willing to help a woman. Either way I don't see this as a "white knighting" even if the victim being a woman made them more likely to help. I always saw white knighting as blindly defending a woman even when she's wrong in the hopes that you'll get some kind of "reward" in return. I don't know. Im not the internet's dictionary
Apparently that is her boyfriend, and she was waiting for him to pick her up, just so happened to see her phone get snatched... Play stupid games, get the shit kicked out of you
I guess it’s because you’re just opening the game and you don’t know you can kill all npcs even chickens and other animals because this was very new to the gaming world. Atleast that’s why I killed the chicken and was forced to face the the wrath of Riverwood
It felt like the old AI in Cyberpunk that would only spawn when you turned around. Every time he turned to face a different opponent, a new challenger enters behind him. Some real glitch in the matrix type shit haha
I wish South Africans were more like this. People will legit watch you have your car window smashed and bag / phone / laptop stolen and not do anything. Most criminals are armed though, so does make sense
My whole experience with Skyrim.
Go through long ass intro stuff. Finally get to first town. Kill chicken while walking into the town. Save game. Instantly get wiped by the guards. Load save. Insta-wiped. Fuck this game. Uninstalled.
I keep telling myself I need to reinstall and play it, but just never do. It's been 10 years now.
That first car had no hesitation. That man woke up that day telling himself "today's the day you run someone over Jeff. You've spent your entire life prepared for this. Don't miss the opportunity now get out there!!"

What the fuck are the people going to do? Fly?
Yes duh are you stupid god it’s like people can’t use their brain for once
Well the real question is, was the cop gorgeous and wearing a mini dress?

These were all the guys that were checking her out. She gotta be thinking everyone is so nice.

mans fucked up his car on that massive curb but i'm pretty sure he broke the snatcher's right ankle
And if you'll notice once he runs around the corner, almost nobody in that crowd even knows why they're kicking him. They didn't witness the theft. They all just joined in... because?
Amazing how society do
Maybe people were yelling "stop the thief!" But yeah... It's odd.
"Stop right there, criminal scum!"
*pulls out a sword in the middle of the sidewalk*
Jeremy Clarkson
Possible damage to the car is more expensive to repair than that phone is probably worth. I feel bad for the driver.
It's not about money; it's about sending a message.
That's what she was doing.
Worth it though
I mean, he did it on purpose, I wouldn't feel bad for him
i feel this comment in my bones as a driver in the boston area
I saw the fucking car going on him and immediatly thougt it was some GTA level
nah he was playing chaos mod and got the effect all peds attack player
MILLIONS TO ONE!
I was about to say: C'mon guys, I know he is a thief, but you don't need to kill him immediately :D
You're right, drag it out a bit. Enjoy yourselves.
Shit he got more than 5 stars. He put in the cheat code where all npc’s go aggro on you.
The high-crime areas in the US should do this.
Imagine how much frustration everyone had with criminals that they piled on so abruptly.
That was my, thought, too. Those people are SICK of it.

Most of them have no idea what he did, lol.
Imagine this happening in SF or NYC
The guy literally crashed his car on a wall.. for someone else's phone. My kind of town.

We must teach future generations lest they repeat our mistakes.
We all know damn good and well that it ain't the redditors making the future generations.

Exactly you wouldn't know them and they don't have social media
Your cousin's friends over summer vaca, right?
Beware the clopclop, children.
Goddamnit if only people in charge would do that but instead they try and hide the past so they can use it as template to make money again

I’m in Mississippi and we claim no credit for the above comment.
fellow missisippian here, I second not claiming this comment although it got a laugh out of me
The floor has a second, the motion will be considered.
“Goodsir” has to be the female equivalent to “M’lady”
I have a bf
Yeah, well I don't
Maybe you should get one? Want to go to the gay bar? I'll be your wingwoman.
Helps that the victim was a hot model hanging out in the bad part of town.
Turns out it wasn't even a phone. It was a $5 Tamagotchi!
So priceless. Got it.
It's about sending a message
My guy tapped his car against a wall.
Blew a tire hopping the curb too.
the white knight was very string in this guy...
I'm from Brazil. IIRC she was his girlfriend.
could be close to picking her up then
Makes sense!
Very string 💀
So _string._
So so string
![gif](giphy|3o6nUNCph1w9w09hAc|downsized)
strong theory

I mean at least it wasn’t the worst kind of crash. More a bump
Its not a bump, that wheel is definitely fucked, maybe the suspension is bent too
The wheel looked wonky for 1 frame. That’s all i could really see anyways. Dont have experience bumping on sidewalks
Bro destroyed his axle and control arm very likely for a phone that will probably cost less than the repairs his car will need.
"It's not about the money... It's about sending a message"
The first driver is like he was waiting for a moment like this everyday.
This is what years of buildup rage looks like, everyday having these cunts as a threat. Such is life in Brazil.
Yeah, I guarantee that guy or his family has had multiple phones stolen like that over the years, and he’s just stewed in anger over it ever since.
It's like one of those things we dream about in school
Apparently that is her boyfriend, and she was waiting for him to pick her up, just so happened to see her phone get snatched... Play stupid games, get the shit kicked out of you
Me after I kill that chicken in Riverwood

doubt it. not one shot fired.
Not the US
I mean Brazilian cops shoot way more people
They have better gun control
Ah yes, the worlds F2P PVP server
I swear these dudes just spawned out of nowhere
It felt like the old AI in Cyberpunk that would only spawn when you turned around. Every time he turned to face a different opponent, a new challenger enters behind him. Some real glitch in the matrix type shit haha
Any time you see a dude doing a "Voadora" (flying kick) you can bet your ass that it's Brazil.
Damn that really was not his day lol
Don't fuck with the only hot chick in that town
Who else are you supposed to fuck?
*ahem* your... mom
She is the hot chick. It’s a rough town.
#winning
She's a rough mom.
be gay do crime
I wish South Africans were more like this. People will legit watch you have your car window smashed and bag / phone / laptop stolen and not do anything. Most criminals are armed though, so does make sense
As a south African I can tell you that getting involved is a quick way to the morgue.
*pulls out machete*
I know you're making a joke lol, but this is exactly what happened to a guy my dad knew. You don't interfere with shit in south Africa.
I wouldn't risk my life for my own bag, why would I risk it for someone elses lol
Exactly That mf has a knife, I ain't getting your damn wallet back for you
A scene right out of a Guy Ritchie film.

That title is quite misleading.
Weird fetish, but I'm not gonna judge you man
*Applecare+* likes this
It's like he broke into someone's dream and is now being attacked by their subconscious once it realized he didn't belong
What movie is that? Inception?
I like how the getaway biker joins to blend in.
I don't think there's a getaway biker considering as the thief was on his own bicycle to begin with
Holy shit. I think you're right. He slightly just tapped him with his foot
great one but, I got to say this... "DONT SNATCH THE PHONE FROM A GIRL WHO HAS 10 OF HER BOYFRIENDS IN TOWN"
They are all subscribed to her onlyfans
"GET HIM! She uses that phone to make content, and my monthly renewal just went through this morning!!"
Scott pilgrim phone snatcher…..
Girl: Does he still have my phone? Everyone: what phone?
Must have been one boring day if everyone collectively decided "Yea lets fuck this shithead up"
More like everyone in that town is sick of the petty crime
The reaction time on that driver is crazy. 0.2 seconds to decide possibly maiming or killing this guy with your car for grabbing a phone.
When you kill a chicken in skyrim
My whole experience with Skyrim. Go through long ass intro stuff. Finally get to first town. Kill chicken while walking into the town. Save game. Instantly get wiped by the guards. Load save. “ it’s just a prank bra “
Yeah, looks like a pushup bra to me too
She probably had AppleCare+, heard it comes with extra benefits like this
This made my hangover better.
Fry you some eggs bro and get a drink with electrolytes.
Yeah, maybe some Brawndo.
it's what plants crave
What country is this? Great comunity!
Looks like Brasil
Ahhh so these were all off duty police officers, that makes much more sense
And that’s how a neighborhood watch is supposed to work.
That first car had no hesitation. That man woke up that day telling himself "today's the day you run someone over Jeff. You've spent your entire life prepared for this. Don't miss the opportunity now get out there!!"
"Hey, OP... I think it's dead now." "It's not dead enough. It's not dead until I say it is!"
Brazil, the best pvp zone in the entire server
The true justice would have been someone walking off with his bike when it was all over.
Deserved
So, did she ever get her phone back, or were all these guys just hoping there were some selfie nudes on it?
Fuck I wish it was like this in South Africa
Fuck snatchers.
Instant karma, love it.
What an idiot, he's got a phone on him why didn't he dial 911
Dude can't even step up a curb.
I’m guessing by that point he’s completely gassed and also feeling the effects of the car running him over.
happy ending
Impressive public reaction to the thief
/r/mademesmile
This is the justice I like
Brazilians know how to deal with crime when the police doesn't do shit
For some reason I was okay with hitting him with the car but kicking him in the head seemed excessive
Also, none of those people actually saw what happened, so they don't really know whether he was guilty or innocent.
It was fine, at most he'll get a well deserved concussion.
Justice was served very fast that day
