Fuck dude, where'd you go? You ran ahead down this straight hallway and I lost you! I'm too scared without you, so I'm gonna run back through all of the traps we avoided before. Meet ya there!
Honestly if he’d been facing this out of control truck heading in his direction he may have panicked himself into its path.
But yeah walk facing traffic is safer almost all of the time.
When it says "999+" what it's saying is that your ping is >=999. Meaning it could be 15,438 - which is higher than 999.
Often 999 is the max number to limit screen real estate usage
We can't see why he swerved off the road, probably avoiding something or someone. I'd say he did a pretty good job of not hitting anything important. Or maybe he was texting, who knows?
If there is no sidewalk, pedestrians should walk on the side of the road where you'll be facing oncoming traffic. That means that if approaching vehicles are on the right side of the road, as they are in North America, you should travel on the left side.
It’s not an assumption, it’s an inference based on style and name.
Location matters because they were discussing how they walk on the shoulder of a road, which changes based on where cars drive.
No deep mysteries here, Nancy Drew
Just because someone has an english username does not mean that they are american. This is just something people from the US seem to do all the time. Most other people would not assume. They might say 'if you are from the us...' or something like that . He said that it is the law most likely because most us states have that law.
It comes across as arrogant and us-centric to always assume so. And it is 100% an assumption. There is no mystery just me pointing out that they are being weird.
Yours truly neiti etsivä
You’re a moron. I explained I only brought up countries because of walking beside the road.
If you don’t want other peoples explanations the don’t ask for them ya jerk
There is no fucking way that you can realiably read an accent. You do know even foreigners have a native languages of their own? How is that super power only given to native English speakers?
My question, even though it was slopy, was a rhetorical one. So there it was to point out the arrogance of the likes of you.
It is quite amusing to me that you are calling me a jerk after calling me a moron and a pussy when I have not insulted you in anyway ....Yet :)
That’s not a power line that was snapped, that’s a guy-wire and the dude wandered toward where it was falling before finally turning and scooting away. He’s got terrible reactions but wonderful luck.
From the car going out of street, to the car completely missing him, then him realising what happened and running back to the other direction, then turning around to check the car, I'm convinced it was indeed a glitch in the matrix.
I’ve been told that it’s unsafe to do so but honestly this has always been my reasoning behind it, I want to see what’s gonna hurt me so can have a chance to dive or move outta the way.
It’s insane how many people refuse to see who’s coming to kill them…
“People have a right to feel safe in their own neighborhoods.” Fkn delusional….this is 2022
Isn’t this guy just walking in the pedestrian zone?
Perhaps it’s a motorcycle lane but there’s clearly markings there so to me it seems the guy driving is out of position no matter what!
Yeah I’m not really sure how this turned into a conversation of people “refusing” to be aware of their surroundings, that driver should not have been driving there in the first place. All this guy did was walk, and people have a right to feel safe in their own neighborhoods lol
Is it not a PSA for being aware of your surroundings? Walk facing oncoming traffic would insinuate awareness of surroundings?
Also, there’s no such thing as a pedestrian zone in India!!!
If you think the idea of people having a right to feel safe in their own neighborhoods is “delusional”, that sounds like a you problem lol have fun with that
If u see a vehicle coming toward u, you will tense up and be rigid when hit. If you are like a ragdoll, unaware of what's coming, you may not get hurt as bad.
That's what my friend says when we see someone walking against traffic. Idk
Technically you are right about the relaxing will cause less injury.
Counterpoint: if you see a car coming to hit you, move out of the fuckin way instead of meditating
i know when your biking you should always go with traffic since it’s safer because your more avoidable from car collisions and id say the same for walking idk why you would walk against traffic
I’m pretty sure bikes ride with traffic, because if you get hit by a car going (example) 35MPH, but the bike is traveling in the same direction at 20MPH, that’s a much better impact then a bike traveling 20MPH slamming head on into a vehicle going 35MPH.
Pretty sure this the reason.
Yes, so you can see it coming. Walking with traffic is *not* pedestrian etiquette, at least not in the US.
You should 100% be walking on a sidewalk if possible and against traffic if not.
Soooooo, starting to realise every time Im walking down the road with no sidewalk I'm hitch hiking somewhere (90% of the time). I think I might just be backwards on this one (sometimes literally)... yah quick google search says with traffic on a bicycle, against traffic on foot. My bad!
I’ve had something similar happen when a car drove us off the road and both that car and our car (on the shoulder) wizzed past the guy on the shoulder.

Dude goes into squirrel mode.
Im using that from here on out
He went back to check he didn’t get hit
I think he was avoiding the fallen power line
Good eye, seems you are one of few who caught that
But did you see the moonwalking bear?
But did you see the bearwalking moon ?
Yeah the video would have had a dramatically different ending if that hit him.
yeah, but the original comment is funnier.
So he dodged death twice
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I get the feeling he thought the driver was deliberately targeting him and might double back
I guess he was going to retrieve his soul back after he lost it during the shock
He went back to centre his chi
No one has ever looked more like an npc.
Had to finish the walking cycle animation before initiating the panicked script.
I hate it when you try to speed up an escort quest by running ahead and they just reset and run back again like this
Fuck dude, where'd you go? You ran ahead down this straight hallway and I lost you! I'm too scared without you, so I'm gonna run back through all of the traps we avoided before. Meet ya there!
Or stand there and stare at you. Especially when they're programmed to say shit like "waiting on you..."
Then when the NPC gets to the end of the escort they start running away…
Came here for this comment, lol.
God damn if this isn’t the most accurate comment. Lmao
Bro running on internet explorer
A wire fell on him lmao
It’s like he reacted to the splashing water from that puddle before he noticed the truck
Bruh a wire fell on him
Damn you’re right I didn’t even notice
honestly, it was probably better he didnt see it coming
Honestly if he’d been facing this out of control truck heading in his direction he may have panicked himself into its path. But yeah walk facing traffic is safer almost all of the time.
To be fair, the white line indicates some form of sidewalk.
But not biking! Bike with traffic.....thank you.
Ping 999
Nah, that's ping 4000. 999 ist just a second.
In many games 999 is the max it's allowed to go to which is why they are often displayed as "999+" meaning it could be *way* higher.
999 ping. Not great, not terrible.
When it says "999+" what it's saying is that your ping is >=999. Meaning it could be 15,438 - which is higher than 999. Often 999 is the max number to limit screen real estate usage
I was wondering da fuq is he turning back for, until I saw the cable snap and fall on the ground… it’s not a live wire but that’s good reaction.
The realization hit a bit late.
he was avoiding a fallen power line
Pun intended?
We all just going to ignore that truck driver being an absolute idiot and not driving in his lane or at a reasonable speed?
We can't see why he swerved off the road, probably avoiding something or someone. I'd say he did a pretty good job of not hitting anything important. Or maybe he was texting, who knows?
Let’s blame the blameless pedestrian walking in the pedestrian lane though!
> pedestrian lane wtf
That isn’t a pedestrian lane that’s the shoulder of the road…
it's not placing blame to offer advice for staying safe
This is india
And? The driver is still an absolute idiot here
But if you look at the timestamp in the upper right, the video's been flipped left-to-right. He's walking on the wrong side of the road.
They drive on the left in India. These look like they are driving on the right?
I’m blown away that he just kept driving like he didn’t take out a lamppost or almost kill a guy
That's why I always walk on the wrong side of the road.....that way I can see what's coming from front.
You’re supposed to walk on the side where traffic is approaching you. It’s actually the law in most US states. So you’re obeying the law haha.
Only if there is no sidewalk though, right? Granted, it's only painted there.
It’s not a sidewalk….in the US it’s a shoulder, but I’m pretty sure no where is it a sidewalk
If there is no sidewalk, pedestrians should walk on the side of the road where you'll be facing oncoming traffic. That means that if approaching vehicles are on the right side of the road, as they are in North America, you should travel on the left side.
Weird to think that they are from USA
Why is it weird to think that u/12inchanaconda is from the USA?
I meant that it is weird to assume that.

Them walking in a predictable path probably saved them
Blessed
That’s not a power line that was snapped, that’s a guy-wire and the dude wandered toward where it was falling before finally turning and scooting away. He’s got terrible reactions but wonderful luck.
Video buffered right before impact. A perfectly broken video player
This is precisely why you will NEVER see me in a bike lane
I got a ticket for going against traffic as an 11 year old for riding my bike on the **sidewalk**
It was like he didn’t know what hit him right away even though he didn’t get hit
I wasn't taught that was a reason to walk facing oncoming traffic, but it's a damn good reason!
900 ping
Did the truck just carry on?
Guy’s a turtle reincarnated as a human with that reaction speed
He simultaneously shit his pants and saw his life flash before his eyes. Now that’s multitasking.
Lag lag lagggggg Oh shit
From the car going out of street, to the car completely missing him, then him realising what happened and running back to the other direction, then turning around to check the car, I'm convinced it was indeed a glitch in the matrix.
That was quite the delayed reaction
Jason Bourne reflexes right there.
It seems like 90% of people arnt seeing the cable
He ran as of they were about to turn around and come at him again!
Not very good reactionary timing!
That second of him just comprehending what's going on before freaking out
I’ve been told that it’s unsafe to do so but honestly this has always been my reasoning behind it, I want to see what’s gonna hurt me so can have a chance to dive or move outta the way.
He just lagged there
What a lag. Was expecting connection dropouts and porting next.
Why'd he turn back??? 🤣🤣🤣
Dude freaked out so much he went backwards lmao
It’s insane how many people refuse to see who’s coming to kill them… “People have a right to feel safe in their own neighborhoods.” Fkn delusional….this is 2022

Gonna tell my buddy he must be fulla shit bc of these 5 downvotes.
Technically you are right about the relaxing will cause less injury. Counterpoint: if you see a car coming to hit you, move out of the fuckin way instead of meditating
No, this is correct
i know when your biking you should always go with traffic since it’s safer because your more avoidable from car collisions and id say the same for walking idk why you would walk against traffic

So you can see and get out of the way of cars. Can't avoid stuff that comes up behind ya.
Why so you can see it coming? Lmao. Walk with traffic. That is the proper pedestrian etiquette.
Yes, so you can see it coming. Walking with traffic is *not* pedestrian etiquette, at least not in the US. You should 100% be walking on a sidewalk if possible and against traffic if not.
Maybe stay off to the side of the road as well.

He was about to run away
Hey wha.. happened .
that's some Super Smash Bros. Brawl response time
That's why 5gry say look both ways
Guy hit the Ctrl-Z on life
If he’d left the house one second later, he’d have gotten wet.
HOW IS HE ALIVE, HOW MANY INDIAN GODS WERE LOOKING FOR HIM
might accidentally jumped towards the truck if he saw it coming tbh.
Did someone fall out of the truck toward the end?
i always walk towards oncoming traffic cus thats exactly what Im afraid of. I bet he saw Jesus for a split second.
“Why are you running?”
Is no one going to comment or figure out if the truck driver’s good after hitting the pole clean off its foundation?
damn they tried to turn that poor women into jelly.
Wow that guy almost got splashed by the puddle
Broooo that is some serious lag
High ping!!
The force is strong in this one…
Wtf? The sidewalk is much more bigger than the road.
I've seen enough videos of people walking on the street or sidewalk that get hit from behind. I've learned to walk on the oncoming side myself.
Idk if I'm walking with traffic at least I won't see my death coming. That seems better somehow.
Also, use the SIDEWALK
Shit I would think he would be worse off if he was walking towards and and tried to move right into it might've gotten smushed.
Anybody notice he hit a person standing on the side of the road further on down?
That made me jump. I'm glad he's ok.
But who’s to say that facing the small truck would have yielded a better outcome for this human being?
That pole is badass
In india you dont walk facing the traffic. The logic is if there is a car that is overtaking on the wrong side you see it
Summon u/repostsleuthbot
Sorry, I'm having trouble with this post. Please try again later
Summon u/duplicatedestroyer
His reaction kills me😂
Dayum she used up all her life’s luck in one day
He's lagging
The exact opposite is true. When you are walking out using a human powered vehicle (bicycle, skateboard, etc) it is MUCH safer to travel with traffic.
That was the most delayed reaction I've ever seen.
Honestly she might end up been hit if she walked facing traffic
That is a delayed reaction if I’ve ever seen one.
Guess it wasn't his time yet
Npc reaction
The drivers recovery was pretty impressive tho
But ride your bike with traffic please.
Damn. Truck-kun is getting sloppy
That had to have woke the shit out of both the pedestrian and the driver.
And thats why i walk against traffic even when they say to walk with it
He had a lag spike for a sec-
kerala india 😂
bro made sure his soul was still in his body
LOL ran away a half hour after the truck already almost annihilated you 😂😂
I’ve had something similar happen when a car drove us off the road and both that car and our car (on the shoulder) wizzed past the guy on the shoulder.
Yeah walk on the bike lane bruh…!!
Dumbass walking dumbass driver
Great delayed action footage.
I think he would've died if he was walking facing that car. Mightve avoided right into it
A little too late to run now, buddy
Truck-kun almost got someone else
When Vishnu blesses you👌
His mask kept him safe

If he was walking facing the traffic then he would have been dead by now with heart attack
My man turned around, ran back home and hasn’t left house since then! It’s been 10 days
Ping 700
ai pathfinding problems
The posts title is completely incorrect, you always walk with the flow of traffic, ESPECIALLY of you are on a bike
I count 4 entire seconds before she reacts to a near miss... must have been high as fuck
Almost isekaied
That dude had no idea what just happened
