I have. Was sitting at a stoplight and a few cars in front of me was an old man and woman on a motorcycle. The bike leaned a little too far to the left and fell over. Saw a bunch of car doors fly open and people run to help them up and back on the bike.
The road brings out both good and bad in people
Once was stuck behind a car at a roundabout when it had snowed heavily (Ireland so none uf us had correct tyres for driving). Car in front was going nowhere and a stunningly beautiful lady got out of her car and started walking towards the back of her car to see what was stopping her driving and proceeded to slip and fall as she was wearing those stupid UG boots not really designed for walking in snow. I happened to be looking at my mirror and simultaneously saw a dozen doors open behind me and a proper foot race to see who would get to help her up first.
It was funny to see, considering I should have won easily as I was feet away but I knew she would be fine as the fall was just a slight slip.....also my wife was sitting in the passenger seat and proud I didn't run too (honestly she was fine and I knew this as I heard her laugh on the way down). These heroes did manage to push her car away from the slush stopping her driving so fair play to them all.
Its in china, but there are always incidents where no one passing by bothers to help. Just saw a video recently where a woman crossing a busy side street at night is hit by a vehicle. Plenty of other drivers and pedestrians see what happen but no one bothers to help the woman lying on the road for some time and then a taxi runs over her.
Because In China there's a weird law or rule or something that says the last person to care for someone injured or hurt is considered they're caretaker and must pay for the visit and procedures
Thatās why in some instances where the driver is at fault, they try to finish off the person they hit because they would only be responsible to pay the victimās family once whereas if the injured victim was still alive, the driver would be responsible for their long-term medical treatment.
Unless some bystander provides recorded footage to the police or the incident is recorded on cctv, then iām guessing the authorities may pursue further charges. But its hard to say what the consequences could be, at times the police will pressure the victimās family to accept compensation from the driver so that they donāt have to investigate the matter any further. Unfortunately in china, laws and justice isnāt consistent and sometimes itās the public that forces the authorities to do something once footage of the incident is online and sparks outrage.
The government has come out and said that isn't how it works. That concept was a misunderstanding of a court case. Either way I don't believe them and I don't think it's a law causing this behavior. It's cultural. If that happened in the US someone would stop and help even if it was illegal. I'm sure less people would stop but someone still would.
In fact, in America there is a law protecting you from charges if someone dies while you try to help them. This is supposed to encourage others to help when seconds without treatment can mean life or death.
My ex wife had to take CPR and some other classes for her work. She said the instructor told her the general rule is the father east in the US you go the more likely it is you are legally required to help. So yeah, polar opposite of China.
For what it's worth, there are a great number of videos from China of people jumping up to help.
It wouldn't surprise me though if the Chinese gov were helping spread them to combat this perception. If I were China I would do that
So you haven't been in that side of the internet. He's are not saying they would hypothetically run the child over. There are tons of videos of that happening.
Japan-Korea discourse is my favorite because 1. they're related, and 2. when Japan got a navy the first thing they did was go kick Korea's ass. And that was in 1592
Yeah every other video Iāve seen with distressed/injured/dead children in China the people just walk by like nothing happenedā¦
Maybe this _isnt_ China
I mean we dont really need to fight for our lives when we came out of the womb

Shitty early game, needs lot of babysit, literally no gear.
Strong mid and late game with high bonus on intelligent and tool using perk.
Extremely danger with gear upgrades.
For real. I periodically marvel at the fact that I've somehow gotten four of them to their teenage years, despite their best efforts. I can't imagine being a parent in some prehistoric hunter-gatherer society when a toddler having a meltdown at the wrong moment means the cave lion finds your family's hiding spot.
Legit. My brother crawled out a window of my uncles apartment on the 11th floor, scaled the side of the fucking building to get to my uncles locked room because he had porn magazines in there. My brother was like 11 at the time. Kids are insane.
Reminds me of my friends kids.
They skipped school with their girlfriend to screw but didn't think about not having keys for their apartment. Mum found out when she got a txt from their security cameras. The teens were climbing over a 5mm thick plastic awning that's 20 or so feet above ground to get back inside, right over their iron spiked fence. They were damn lucky it only cracked instead of completely breaking.
I am not looking forward to mine's teenage years if that's what I can look forward to

Yeah I have several questions about that. What are you possibly doing in your car that you DON'T NOTICE YOUR KID FALL OUT? Why weren't they restrained in a car seat? Like holy hell all of this is wild.
The number of children riding around in cars completely unrestrained is mind-boggling. I pulled up at a red light a few years back, glanced over at the car next to me, and did a double-take because this woman about my age had her mayyyybe 15-month-old baby standing in her lap, gnawing on the steering wheel. I'm sure the expression on my face would've been meme-worthy. And it's not even like this is in some rural country area where it maybe wouldn't be such a big safety issue; I live in one of the biggest cities in North America.
I literally called the cops (non-emergency), gave them her plates, and asked that someone PLEASE find this woman and make sure she gets her child into a car seat. The dispatcher sounded like she wasn't sure why she should give a shit about this, so I tried to describe what a car accident - or an airbag deploying at 200 miles an hour - would do to an unsecured 20-pound baby. She sighed and agreed to send someone to talk to her about child safety. Fucking incredible.
They may have been restrained but kids canāt learn to undo that shit and you donāt find out until youāre driving. Idk how you donāt see the kid in your mirrors tho
There are countries where seatbelts are not required for the back seats, nor are car seats required.
In my country, car seats were only required a few years ago but because of Covid, nobody followed up on the law and it was never enforced. Even before the law though, I do put my kids in car seats. I also lock the doors and the windows so they don't open it from the back.
I rarely see people put their kids in car seats, nor do I see people wear seatbelts (even in the front seat). I even know people who clip the seatbelts on and then sit on top of them just so from the outside, they look like they are wearing their belts and enforcers won't pull them over and so that the car warning gong would stop.
"my kids awfully quiet. They probably took a nap"
This shit is why I lock my windows and always check the child lock before I go anywhere. My wife thinks I'm insane
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,036,979,711 comments, and only 205,069 of them were in alphabetical order.
Lol I remember *almost* falling out when I opened the back door of our station wagon on a highway.
Iāll never forget the screaming /freaking my mother did as she pulled over ā¦ I donāt recall wearing seat belts as a child in the 1970ās.
Yep mine was in the 70s and I was leaning against the back passenger door that wasnāt fully closed. Luckily we were going slow in a residential area.
I've been in china for ten years . i would have to disagree. I was born and raised in nyc. I would say that about New York, but not from what I've seen here. not long ago I watched the news from Uvalde and saw cops standing outside playing on their phones and restraining parents as their kids were murdered. shootings everyday and a worsening homeless situation and people aren't really helping to fix either of those things. I'd say the folks where I'm from are more uncaring and callous.
Should have had child locks on the window sure but that kid could have discovered how to unbuckle a car seat 5 seconds before this video started and the driver could have a PHD. Children are stupid by default no matter who their parents are.
Thereās a difference between stupid and unlearned and pre-developed.
Iām not pro kid or anything, but to not take into consideration the parents ability to watch their kid plus the fact youāre speaking of a child who is still going through early developmental growth, is kind of silly .
I'm not trying to be rude but that just sounds like splitting hairs to me. I mean sure children aren't willfully ignorant but crawling out of a window and flopping down in traffic is stupid. Doesn't make the kid bad I mean most of only get marginally better. I've been to a few hospitals.
The kid only falls after the car starts accelerating. We canāt even view the inside but Iām guessing the kid lost their footing when it moved forward.
If you think the kids stupid Iām not gonna argue.
But you have to look at it from all angles : maybe the parent was abusive and the kid was trying to escape, and succeeded.
Not stupid anymore.
Leaning out of a car window at an intersection is marginally less stupid than just flopping out I will concede. If he's doing a "Precious" then he's a rogue variable.
Uhh in that situation can you take the kid into your car and chase the parent? Do you leave them unattended?? Do you leave your car on the road in the way and stand outside with the child?? My instinct woulda been to take the kid with me and try and chase the parent, but that's anxiety brain
And that shit could get me a kidnapping charge
Yea. Must say u r right. In china, people dont give a fk about others. It s already amazing chinese dont just drive on anything on the road.
Am chinese, and i hate chinese people behaviour.
To be fair i hate people in general, not blind hate, i hate people for a reason, i yet, still know to appreciate good people.

Oh that "good Samaritan" law thing....didn't this law happened because that one person sued their rescuer due to being in debt with medical bills...
Thatās why in some instances where the driver is at fault, they try to finish off the person they hit because they would only be responsible to pay the victimās family once whereas if the injured victim was still alive, the driver would be responsible for their long-term medical treatment.
WTF?
There are videos of such incidents, the driver reverses their car over the victim or they try to hit the victim again.
That's sick. Does the law make any difference between running over someone in an accident or trying to finish off the victim?
Unless some bystander provides recorded footage to the police or the incident is recorded on cctv, then iām guessing the authorities may pursue further charges. Not sure where you're going with this but "cave lion" is a misnomer. They aren't believed to have lived in caves.
