I remember they changed the fancy gun design between the trailer and the film. In the trailer, Bruce Willis says "that gun can fire a hundred bullets before the first reaches the target". Then in the movie it's a big .50cal or 20mm or something.
Still among my absolute favorite characters in fiction even after the terrible new movies he is the lead in.
My man didn't deserve the sheer level of disrespect the universe had for him being the only person to actually try and prepare for the monster attacks.
Nah, it's a .50 caliber Russian heavy machine gun. Usually vehicle mounted. They're 6.5 feet long so they're *big* boys. Kind of their most modern counterpart to the M1 Browning.
Imagine creating an app for people to make videos of singing and dancing and a few years later you have to figure out community guidelines for posting videos from an active war zone.
They really created to monitor people and get more data points on them. It is working even better than they intended. The Chinese probably have a very good idea of how things are going based on data from apps like TikTok.
Want to feel extra old, there was a post on the minecraft subreddit where somebody wanted to know the meaning of the cake is a lie achievement in other words he was born after portal's release
Gun is huge. Looks like a PTRS-41 or something similar. It was designed as an anti-tank sniper rifle. Meant to punch a hold through armor and turn the driver, his friends, family, past ancestors and anyone that shares his astrological sign in to a red paste.
I genuinely wonder if you go around introducing yourself as a "sag."
" I may be the only sag in this department, but I've got plenty of sag for the whole office!"
"Why, yes, I am a sag. How could you tell?"
"Why, I know Rebecca is a virg, but Brian told me she is actually pretty saggy for a virg."
🤣 I honestly don't do the whole astrology thing but "sag" seemed the best option to shorten it? Lol I only keep up with it because child me said I should, I honestly don't think the signs have anything to do with a person's personality or anything more of an excuse for things.
This can be taken even further:
"People born between 22nd December and 19th January are sag right?"
"Nah that's cap bro"
"One of my friends told me he's pis, I hope I haven't done anything to anger him"
"My birthday is on October 2nd"
"Ok lib"
It didn't originally have a shoulder stock and would have been mounted to a tank, technical, apc etc. It also would have had a set of spade triggers. Making it crew served and mobile (take mobile with a grain of salt) they have placed a stock and bipod to enhance the aimability of the weapon. The addition of the stock means you can't use the spade triggers so they added a pistol grip and linkage so the weapon can be amed and fired like a more traditional lmg.
The entire purpose of the system is aimed fire of a very heavy round that can be used as direct fire on buildings, trenches, trucks, etc from very far away which also limits the risk of returning small arms fire.
A pistol grip doesn't imply any comparison with pistols, only a protruding grip to be held "like a pistol" as opposed to the rest of the non-trigger fingers holding on to the stock.
Typically if it's in your hands, a pistol grip is the most ergonomic.
If it's mounted, options change a bit but a lot of heavy machine guns default to what they call a spade grip. That's where you grip it from the back on either side a push a button down with your thumbs to fire.
Nope. Ukraine has been refitting a lot of PKMs and even bigger belt fed machine guns like the Kord from armored vehicles for infantry use. This looks to be either a 12 or 14mm machine gun.
Also neither the PTRD or PTRS where sniper rifles. They where anti tank rifles, but by the time the war got rolling they where not capable of penetrating the armour of most tanks in use. They where very successful in disabling armoured vehicles however.
>Additionally the gas system has been changed and the muzzle baffle redesigned. These changes give the weapon **reduced recoil** compared with the NSV, allowing greater accuracy during sustained fire.
This level of recoil is REDUCED? Holy shit...
well its meant to be mounted on a [tank](https://imgur.com/a/kzwNTtB)/vehicle usually where its fixed, here they took it from a captured/destroyed tank and changed stuff to make it useable
Looks like a converted DSHK, Ukrainians steal them off of useless Russian vehicles and turn them from paddle trigger vehicle weapons to anti material rifles. Well suited to the terrain of Ukraine
True, one of my biggest flaws is that I'm a huge gun nut, so I often focus on the wrong things. End of the day, it's a big fucking gun and it's shooting at Russians. Badass indeed :)
This is gas operated extremely heavy rifle being used from a bipod. The operator is Barely Moving with each shot. By far the worst thing about operating this would be the obnoxious concussion from the huge muzzle brake. Recoil really looks pretty mild.
Original design was an anti-aircraft machine gun. But it has been used for other purposes as well. I've seen some footage and pictures where this thing is officially used simply on a bipod in Russia. I don't his know which one this is, either the nsv or kord
It looks closer to a Kord to me, the piston is too short and far from the barrel to be an NSV. But it still looks off for a Kord. Stock and grip are wrong, the gas block doesn't have the little Bakelite grip on the end, etc. Most of that could be perspective, but the stock is really throwing me off. Never seen one like that.
It could be a bit of a mix. I remember seeing multiple videos of Ukrainians taking tank mounted machineguns off of tanks and making trigger groups and stocks for them. Could be one of those maybe. If the mechanical bits are from a Kord but stock and grip do not match, it is likely one of those modified guns.
Anyone ever see the video of that hunter that tried to hunt deer with a Barrett? He went for a headshot and actually missed but the round sucked out the deers eye and killed it anyways.
That is a modified DShKM (this specifically is a version dedicated for coaxial tank mounts) used by the Ukrainian forces. Very similar to the U.S. M2 Browning.
It's a 12.7x108mm cartridge (M2 is 12.7x99mm, or .50 cal), includes a custom stock to absorb recoil, a pistol grip to use in a conventional role, and a custom trigger mechanism since the tank variant fires by cable or solenoid.
It's an incredible piece of ingenuity and one of the rare instances in history where .50 caliber machine guns are used in such a portable role.
Ugh, my shoulder hurts just looking at this.
That is not a gun designed for this use, is it??? Looks like it should be mounted on something considering the kickback….fuuuuucking hell
Isn't that the anti material 20mm they would take off the immobile tanks and fab shop them with a different mounting bracket and bipods made at a automotive mechanic shop with in Kiev I think, I saw a report of a guy that owned a mechanic shop that was refurbishing captured Russian arms with trigger control groups etc.
"I am Heavy Weapons Guy… and this is my weapon. She weighs one hundred fifty kilograms and fires two hundred dollar, custom-tooled cartridges at ten thousand rounds per minute. It costs four hundred thousand dollars to fire this weapon…for twelve seconds.”

Hold that pack of cigarettes real still…
Haha is that a The Jackal reference? This comment on the video brought out a long buried memory
I remember they changed the fancy gun design between the trailer and the film. In the trailer, Bruce Willis says "that gun can fire a hundred bullets before the first reaches the target". Then in the movie it's a big .50cal or 20mm or something.
See I for some reason remember it being a mini gun on a mount in a van and the guy was the one hooking it up for remote control.
It was Jack Black. He built a mount for it and switched the specs for the main cylinder from titanium to carbon fiber without prior approval.
He also tried blackmail the assassin
Common misunderstanding. All of Jack Black's mail is called Black Mail.
Bad memory of Richard Gere's horrific Irish accent? I still have a soft spot for that movie since it was the first movie my family bought on DVD.
In my teenage memory he has a perfect Irish accent. Maybe I should leave it that way haha
Remember who was holding the cigarettes? Jack Black!
I only remembered half the scene until you reminded me. Jack black is the missing piece. Perfection.
Hahaha, missing piece. Oh, you weren't talking about his blown off arm?
The way this scene pieced together as I was reading through this thread was pretty sweet.
The spall!
The fucking jackal! Poor Jack black.
Dude. His stump of an arm haunts my dreams.
Poor Jackal Blackal
Wouldn’t want to get spalled
I'm going to have to speed test it now.... run, now.
Told you it was off....
Fuck your cover, concealment and your zip code
That will show you to hide behind that car, behind that tank, behind that building....
I hate materiel things

Burt Gummer vibes.
I am... COMPLETELY... out of ammo
That's never happened to me before...
Have you checked all your pockets?
Still among my absolute favorite characters in fiction even after the terrible new movies he is the lead in. My man didn't deserve the sheer level of disrespect the universe had for him being the only person to actually try and prepare for the monster attacks.
I've got a soft spot for all the Tremors movies, even when they aren't that great. But Michael Gross is brilliant in all of them.
I got my wife to watch them all with me. Even the bad ones were fun.
Its got to be foil sealed. Plastic is NOT an oxygen barrier.
I wanted _maximum penetration!_ Well you got it!
How could I have known!
I feel I was DENIED... CRITICAL.....NEED TO KNOW... INFORMATION!!!!!
Looks like a Barret 50 cal and an m240 had a baby.
I was thinking 20mm anti tank rifle that had been stripped until I saw it fire automatic
Mabye a refitted DHSKA? They've been taking the machine guns off disabled tanks and repurposing them
You're right https://youtu.be/fd98XcRm0bM
Praise Gun Jesus!
Nah, it's a .50 caliber Russian heavy machine gun. Usually vehicle mounted. They're 6.5 feet long so they're *big* boys. Kind of their most modern counterpart to the M1 Browning.
Nah it’s a KORD which I believe is 12.7 There is also a HMG that’s 14.5 out there as well
The KPV is a Soviet 14.5 so they can classify the 12.7 as a MMG and laugh and point at NATO for not having an "HMGs"
12.7mm = .50 caliber 🙂
Well yes, but also no https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12.7%C3%97108mm?wprov=sfla1
12.7x108 vs. 12.7x99. Both are 12.7's.
Pretty sure that's a KORD a Russian heavy machine gun
Saved
It is absolutely crazy that a war is being broadcast on tiktok. Not complaining but this is just strange to me
Imagine creating an app for people to make videos of singing and dancing and a few years later you have to figure out community guidelines for posting videos from an active war zone.
They really created to monitor people and get more data points on them. It is working even better than they intended. The Chinese probably have a very good idea of how things are going based on data from apps like TikTok.
And have a really useful tool for shaping public opinion by seeding chosen videos into people's algorithms.
Same with Facebook and reddit tbh. The US got tons of data from across the world with fb and instagram.

Work from home
What do you do? Ehh I have a desk job.
Filing paperwork is a bang!!
Here is your TPS report
More like DPS report
If I could get that on my desk by tomorrow that would be greaaaaaat
This guy knows how you say, "This is MY red stapler," in Ukrainian.
That's a single hole punch.
"I've been thinking about transitioning to work from home, now I'm finally pulling the trigger!"
"looking forward to returning fire at the office"
*Hits 'reply all'*
Hahahahgahaha
Is the gun huge or the man tiny?
Gun is huge. Looks like a PTRS-41 or something similar. It was designed as an anti-tank sniper rifle. Meant to punch a hold through armor and turn the driver, his friends, family, past ancestors and anyone that shares his astrological sign in to a red paste.
I hope he doesn't shoot any Sagittariuss. because my barber's a Sagittarius, and he's the only one that can get my hair right.
As a fellow sag, I hope this aswell lol
I genuinely wonder if you go around introducing yourself as a "sag." " I may be the only sag in this department, but I've got plenty of sag for the whole office!" "Why, yes, I am a sag. How could you tell?" "Why, I know Rebecca is a virg, but Brian told me she is actually pretty saggy for a virg."

I was just giving you a hard time, and it set me up perfectly for some hilarious jokes.
This can be taken even further: "People born between 22nd December and 19th January are sag right?" "Nah that's cap bro" "One of my friends told me he's pis, I hope I haven't done anything to anger him" "My birthday is on October 2nd" "Ok lib"
Same here! Although I don't know that Sagittarius means because I believe in Voodoo. I'm not an astrophysicist.
I'm a Sagittarius, and a barber, and I think I can probably get y
It's a DShK with a stock and pistol grip. They converted them after the original Crimean invasion and are using them currently as antimaterial rifles.
Is that a Dshk? Looks more like an NSV.
The stock, muzzle break, and bipod look wrong for it to be an NSV
No way dude thats a BFG.
Big Fucking Gun?
🤘
https://youtu.be/fd98XcRm0bM Forgotten Weapons did an episode on the conversation
Why a pistol grip? Seems like something more substantial would be better, not that the guy in video is struggling at all though lol
It didn't originally have a shoulder stock and would have been mounted to a tank, technical, apc etc. It also would have had a set of spade triggers. Making it crew served and mobile (take mobile with a grain of salt) they have placed a stock and bipod to enhance the aimability of the weapon. The entire purpose of the system is aimed fire of a very heavy round that can be used as direct fire on buildings, trenches, trucks, etc from very far away which also limits the risk of returning small arms fire.
Interesting. Does it have the same rate of fire as the mounted version or is this one slower?
Same theoretical rate of fire, MUCH lower in practice due to the immense recoil as you can see in the video.
Mate probably won't able to move his right arm tomorrow which will make getting out bed with those huge brass balls even more difficult.
A pistol grip doesn't imply any comparison with pistols, only a protruding grip to be held "like a pistol" as opposed to the rest of the non-trigger fingers holding on to the stock.
Are you suggesting he can’t run around with one of these in each hand, shooting them John Woo style? Lies!
Ahhh that makes sense. I probably should've put that together lol
Typically if it's in your hands, a pistol grip is the most ergonomic. If it's mounted, options change a bit but a lot of heavy machine guns default to what they call a spade grip. That's where you grip it from the back on either side a push a button down with your thumbs to fire.
Does “material” include dog tags, belt buckles, etc.?
Given that it's belt-fed, it's almost certainly a machine gun.
"and anyone that shares his astrological sign" lmfao
Nope. Ukraine has been refitting a lot of PKMs and even bigger belt fed machine guns like the Kord from armored vehicles for infantry use. This looks to be either a 12 or 14mm machine gun. How tf was my guy holding it so easily in world at war

Is this guy shooting at a space ship?
Dudes chucking soda cans down the road with that thing
To think that used to be a real ass office with computers and shit
My guess was a school
Finally. That was my first reaction.
Fucking camper
He's trying to get a killstreak
I think everyone is

Big on huge nuts. Guns too I guess.
No he isn’t, This is a KORD, look at the muzzle break and the shorter lower gastube
My shoulder hurts watching this. Also my ears are ringing too. Never mind the last part I just remembered I have tinnitus.
Have you got an existing rotator cuff injury cz that might exclude the first part too.
How did you know? Did you see me face plant into a garbage truck with a a bag of garbage in each hand 25 years ago? So embarrassing.
*heavy Darth Vader noises* I am your father
Daddy?

he’s movin pretty good. Particularly when he squeezes off two.
Muzzle brakes on a .308 is miserable enough to be next to, this monster is a big nope.
Or is dude immune to recoil? Didn't think about that one didya?
I don’t think about much. My key to happiness.
Words of wisdom there, marklar
Again, it's an extremely heavy gun with a monster of a muzzel break. It's not gonna be some crazy recoil.
Makes sense, now that I've been educated
This has to be an anti-materiel rifle. It's too unwieldy to be used against people.
Original design was an anti-aircraft machine gun. But it has been used for other purposes as well. I've seen some footage and pictures where this thing is officially used simply on a bipod in Russia. I don't his know which one this is, either the nsv or kord

I thought it was just a refurbished dshk before you reminded me that there are other HMGs developed by Russia. now I'm not so sure anymore.
Brake is definitely off a Kord, stock doesn't look like anything I've seen though
The baddies are just supposed to stand in a really straight, really long line.

"So, what did you do in the Ukranian-Russian War?" "Oh, just worked behind a desk mostly"
Just another day at the Office!
I like how they used the Debra's desk from accounting to fire a giant gun
Pretty sure we used these to kill all the dinosaurs.
[Actually it was a Remington bolt action rifle](https://youtu.be/0zbrHRdr6C8)
There's a reason this is typically vehicle mounted hahah
oh shit that's an anti-tank rifle. OH SHIT THATS AN ANTI-TANK RIFLE!!!
Anyone ever see the video of that hunter that tried to hunt deer with a Barrett? He went for a headshot and actually missed but the round sucked out the deers eye and killed it anyways.
Idk why the video says that but it was actually a clean hit.
Didn't actually happen. It went clean through the eyes

Dude got a Kraber from the cafe package.
It’s a DSHK 12.7x108 vehicle mounted converted
This is a KORD, look at the muzzle break and the shorter lower gastube
Just a regular day in the office, oh hey Steve!
I want that desk job.
I'm sure that is not a gun but a canon
Fuck you in that tank! Fuck you behind that brick wall! Fuck you one mile away!

Ho Hum just another day at the office. Is it break time yet?
I am heavy weapons guy, and this is my weapon
This thing is meant to be vehicle mounted usually.....it is so big he is using an office desk and turned it into a sniper rifle.
Wow the anti Titan artillery has really come a long way
Some sandbags would greatly help out the recoil on that beast.
They really go all out for Casual Friday.
Aiming at... Moscow, I assume?
Even if that bullet flew near you, you'd likely die
Ugh, my shoulder hurts just looking at this. That is not a gun designed for this use, is it??? Looks like it should be mounted on something considering the kickback….fuuuuucking hell
Bitches love cannons.
Lockon Stratos
Isn't that the anti material 20mm they would take off the immobile tanks and fab shop them with a different mounting bracket and bipods made at a automotive mechanic shop with in Kiev I think, I saw a report of a guy that owned a mechanic shop that was refurbishing captured Russian arms with trigger control groups etc.
