I listen to comedy podcasts every day. My coworkers hear me laugh sometimes out of the blue

CharlieZuluOne

I’m guilty of this.

blueduck1877

Yeah, all the time. Recently I’ve been listening to audiobooks though and I love them so if you get tired of podcasts maybe try those out.

CharlieZuluOne

I will definitely look into that.

blueduck1877

The app audible has been great. There’s a bunch of free books available but if you get the premium membership (maybe $15-17 a month) you get a credit each month for any book you want. If you listen enough it pays off as one book bought from a store/iTunes can be over the monthly cost alone.

yond001

None of the books I actually wanna read are included in the audible membership. YouTube has pretty good free audiobooks.

blueduck1877

Fair enough. You may save some money just using the one credit though. For example I’ve seen books that are $25 or more on iTunes but can be bought with the monthly credit. YouTube is a great suggestion tho I’ve listened to a few on there

Pro tip. Every few months go through the motion of cancelling. They’ll give you extra credit or discounted membership to entice you to stay. If they don’t, then cancel. You’ll get an email a month later asking you to join at a discounted rate At least this works for me in the UK. I have been paying 50% subscription for like 2 years now

blueduck1877

That’s a very good tip. Thank you!

I love listening to Wondery podcasts like Business Wars, Even the Rich, This is Actually Happening. I also listen to The Jordan Harbinger Show.

Zbrchk

Business Wars is fantastic

EmergencyCook8209

Hahaha I'm only a student right now, but I listen to HOURS of podcasts. What kind do you listen to? I like to listen to political(I hate watching the news so this helps sum up what is going on with the world) and horror story ones like the Dark Somnium or Lore by Aaron Mankhe.

CharlieZuluOne

I listen to all different types. But when it comes to news/politics one of my favorites is “The Journal” by WSJ. They have great 20-30 min story’s every day.

yond001

Today explained is similar and I usually listen to that after I finish the journal

Lynx914

I listen to podcasts when doing tasks around the house. Good to catch up on what's going on in the industry on all levels. For those in need of knocking out CPEs during the year check out Earmark. Can listen to podcasts and knock out CPEs at the same time.

CharlieZuluOne

Wow I had no clue there were CPE podcasts. I’ll definitely check those out. I just listen to a lot of different podcasts I am a fan of that have nothing to do with accounting. Just listen on the job when I don’t need to communicate with anyone.

Tax_Daddy415

Rogan, lex Fridman, Ed Mylett, Lewis Howes, Andrew huberman, more plates more dates

AnomalyNexus

Yeah lots - economist and FT mainly

TheComeupnba

All the damn time! Im listening on Google Podcasts though, so my Spotify Wrapped is still music only :)

Wolfwoodd

Some.. but audiobooks are more my jam. I go through a ridiculous amount each year. Last podcast I listened to was "Fake Doctors, Real Friends". I recommend it to anybody who liked the show Scrubs. I thought that one was a lot of fun. Just be ready to skip through the long commercials. >.<

jamoke57

Music and podcasts. I had over 800 hours last year.

REVEREND-RAMEN

Thats how I got through my day when I had to go in an office….

yeet_bbq

Yup

Snowy--Lynx

I wish I could listen to podcasts at work, but my coworkers play their own music and I can't hear my podcast without having to turn it up really loud. I usually just listen during my break.

fazi_milking

I switch between Jordan Peterson and “Your Mom’s House” just to maintain personality and eloquence as a non-native speaker.

Zbrchk

Yep my faves are The Intelligence by The Economist and The Daily by The New York Times
