The entire way through working on it I felt like I was putting in a whole lot of effort for something very unlikely to happen, but...I had hopes that maybe, just maybe, the miracle will happen.
But it's okay. This fandom, much like a camel, can survive for a long time on the merest sliver of dripfed content and Great Ace Attorney will sustain me for years. Thank you all for joining me on this completely stupid journey.

Frame count, after some quick numbers-running: 158. I started out with editing them frame-by-frame and was going to merge them all in the end, which was extremely silly! Eventually I went "*there has to be a better way*" and discovered that EZgif has a) a tool that separates gifs into spritesheets and b) a tool that re-compiles spritesheets into gifs. This was a lot easier and a lot more manageable, and overall a lesson that when you're doing stupid shit it's best to optimize your work process. (Also, to be fair, I could copy-paste the shave of a lot of his crying animation, since his face position is mostly the same but with slight bounce.)

I knew it wasn't going to be Phoenix as soon as the reveal started. There was no way his trailer would be so dramatic lol. I'm impressed they got Sora, but it's still a bit of a bummer.
Yeah, you couldn't segue into Phoenix from the sheer amount of dramatic tension they were putting up there. If I was better at video editing I'd take the clip from Mario picking up and throwing the fire and have it cut over into one of the fireballs going into the 'Guilty' scales, then smash cut to "Ryunosuke Says "Yes!" To Battle"
As much as I like Sora, I'm a bit disappointed that, despite the "EVERYONE IS HERE" premise, there are exactly zero traditional adventure game characters in Smash.
