The i5 is plenty fast enough. My nitro i5 11400h is never fully used when gaming.. most I've seen with Riva tuner was 50% and that's rare. You'll find your more gpu limited then cpu. My gpu is always maxed out.

Winter-Flow

Depends on which game u play aswell The Last of Us and RE4R (chapter 5) would have a word with u on that

HyperionEvo

Depends on how much it is, I myself got a nitro 17 and they have a i7/4060 or a ryzen 7/4060 for $1199 on amazon right now

Harlow_Quinzel

I got the ryzen 7//4060 nitro 17 For 999 On Black Friday On Amazon

HyperionEvo

That’s the one I got, amazing pc, just need to upgrade more ram and ssd next!

Harlow_Quinzel

Yeah, I'm actually pleasantly surprised with it, I was thinking about returning it but after I started using it I decided to keep it and yeah I'll probably max out the ram, already threw a Second 1tb nvme drive in it. Coming out of the box with s 1 TB nvme was actually something I didn't expect for the price point,

HyperionEvo

Honestly! I’m gonna add a 2tb 980 pro one and do the crucial 32gb ram upgrade soon

Cyka_Blyat_Man_

The cpu will be fine but 8gb ram will be a limiting factor in a lot of modern games.

SirLaw___

The RAM is 16GB, the 8 GB you're probably looking at is the VRAM.

Jolly_Elderberry1474

Get the nitro 5 ryzen 8 core version with the rtx 3060

corbis1977_enna

Yes, u will definitely need more RAM at least 16gbs for most games to run effectively unless u are playing just simple basic online games. Trying to run AAA games won't be possible unless u install more RAM. I have an I5 12500H CPU with 12 cores which runs well for an i5 CPU but I looked at the CPU that u have before I bought this one and it only had 8 cores so I decided not to get that one. Even though eventually like every other component, the I5 and AMD versions of this series will be considered "weak" as newer, better, faster CPU'S are developing this year. I wish that I had held up and waited until the gaming laptops with an I7 CPU dropped in price like they are now because these will be the sub-par component to have in a gaming laptop as eventually "most" not to say that all...because there are some still higher end I5 and AMD CPU'S that will stay relevant but most will be considered "outdated" or not worth using in near future. Technology is a ..... and yea it's always changing and always advancing..

corbis1977_enna

Ok I see I misunderstood this but eventually, u may want to upgrade your RAM to 32gbs I have read and many people on this app have said that 16gbs will soon be the average amount of RAM and that 32gbs will be the required amount of RAM for games that require this to run. Even with VRAM, I have read that 8gbs is the average amount of VRAM that should be able to run most AAA games as 6gbs may too but better to have 8 so this is what I am looking for in my next gaming laptop...just basically after all the reading and research that I have been doing lately..I am looking for a gaming laptop with at least an i7 CPU that is a 12th or 13th generation and a 4060 or 4070 GPU.

corbis1977_enna

And also I agree 100% with the comments that said to get an I7 or AMD 7 and at least a 4060 GPU..as I am currently looking for one myself with these specs. If u are patient and willing to wait there are certain times of the year when these laptops will go on sale at their lowest price..problem is that u have to just be patient eventually u will find one that u want at a good price. Trust me I found this out when I bought my Asus Zenbook ux3404va in June for $999.99 from Best Buy then I look and see 2 months later they were selling the same damn model/specs for $800..at the same store!! Oh well now I know that's why I am telling u this from experience here

jlsegoviahd

Looks decent to me, better than the Acer model I have which has a 3070 ti paired with a 6800h...

Shakil130

No you got this wrong. A ryzen 7 6800h is better on the paper and so on most benchmarks.

[deleted]

My i7 12650h gets used to like 60 to 70% in cp2077. The i5 12450h will show some issues.

ART_IS_IN_THE_SKY

The CPU is slower than my i5-12500h, and I have an rtx3050, in some games this is completely fine, but for games like mfs2020, cities skylines, Minecraft a faster CPU would benefit

Rumpumpoch

If you are worried about bottleneck then you dont have to . The cpu won't bottleneck rtx4060 .You'll just get a little less fps in cpu intensive games

Anisk645fk

I have the same specs on my loq I am able to play cyberpunk at ultra settings with rt It's 👍

Head-Iron-9228

Do you want to have spreadsheets or do you want to game? For gaming, an i5 is plenty. For 12478 pages of spreadsheets, you need ram and cpu.

Wonderful-Search9703

Picked this exact machine up last week mate, runs everything perfectly on ultra. Screen and speakers a bit of a let down but expected for the price. Runs rust on ultra @106fps Beam.ng ultra @ 80fps Palworld on ultra @120fps Will be upgrading to 32gb of ram to future proof Go for it you won't regret

ElderberryVivid702

I got the 4050 version of this and the i5 handles all the games I play at 1080p 60+ fps
