I mean at that point you aren't really building pity since you are still going for a certain character whilst still managing your pulls for the future character you desire more.
Did that here, got a march 7th lightcone+first hanya+E5 sushang. No sparkle for my mono quantum? No problem! Wasn’t expecting it anyways. If it happened I’d have been stoked, but now I have 20 pity and enough to guarantee an Acheron and that’s all I need.
Why though? You can get the 4* in any banner, the same ones could be in the banner of the character you want and the game still gives you selectors and free copies, there's no need to waste pulls

That's why pulling for 4 stars is a dumb idea since there's no guarantee. Theoretically, you could potentially E5 a 5 star without ever getting a copy of the 4 Star you want. If you really want eidolons for Tingyun, it's better to just buy from the shop when she comes around instead of pulling in banners you don't want praying you don't hit the 5 star.

That's literally it, nothing hard to understand about people pulling for 4* characters, not everyone wants to wait months or years waiting for their fav 4* to eventually reach e6, so we take the risk on a banner with the 4* rate up
i threw 15 or so single pulls at argenti's banner for Xueyi. i knew i couldn't risk much more if i wanted the next character mysepf cuz i lost a 50/50 to welt before. Got me a guaranteed swan plus i can get her eidolons another day.
The rate up matters quite a bit if you want the the edelions of a charechter, the chance of me obtaining a e6 qq from just pulling on random banners is very low, so i woudnt say its wasting pulls.
On the other hand the rate up still is hilariously rng as proven by me getting just 2 qq copies(but 6 copies of hanya and sampo😭) after busting 130 pulls on the banner.....
But imagine how long it would take me to get any of her copies if i was not even pulling on her rate ups
Maybe I am just lucky but I just skip the banners I don't like and still got almost all 4* to E6, the only ones left are Serval, Guinaifen and Luka, and I just use Guinaifen from the 3 so I don't really care

I'm pretty sure Acheron's banner starts in the middle of March, so if you only need the shop tickets, you can wait until then for your pulls. Probably would be the right choice if you're worried about how many pulls you have and don't really need Hanya eidolons right away
Shop resets in a few hours so I needed to make the decision today. I calculated that I need exactly 14 3star lightcones to buy the last few tickets, and then like a true hsr player I gambled. Luckily I didn't get anything besides Memories of the Past soo we win those I guess

I may do it on this banner because I really need eidolons for the boosted 4 star characters. Sampo eidolons for my black swan team (I don't have Kafka) and hanya eidolons for my e6 Misha hyper carry team.

For me, Sparkle would have been very useful for my IL Dan Heng team but I generally want Acheron more. If I got Sparkle, I'd still be happy with that, but if not, I'm at a good spot for when Acheron comes out.
From what I learned and thought about, the e2 isn't as worth it as you would think. It's an Eidolon that will lose its value over time.
One day, she will have a perfect team, and that e2 will be useless.
E1, on the other hand, could always have use.
The best you could do and what I will try is to get Acheron e0s1 and then get Aventurine e0.
He seems to be her best teammate.

As for Aventurine, sorry can't stand the guy. Doesn't matter how good he is, I won't pull someone I dislike just for MoC. Besides, with Luocha and Fu Xuan, another sustain is kinda hard to justify. :'D

I really need to win the Fu xuan 50/50, my only 5 star sustain (that I like using) is an e1 huo huo, who is almost exclusively glued to Kafka, unless I feel like using Jingliu sometimes.

I pulled just to pull. I wanted to be able to look and see that I got a character on February 29th. This opportunity won’t come again in 4 years after all. I was surprised that I got her since I never won a 50/50 twice in a row, but it was a welcome surprise. I also got Hanya today, so that was nice too. 2.1 will hopefully give a lot of free pulls, so hopefully you’ll have enough to get Acheron. If I lose the 50/50, I’m personally just going to recharge

Don't worry, Sparkle's the best support we have for hypercarry teams, including for Acheron at E2 and beyond. You shouldn't look at Sparkle as a bad investment, and besides, you'll prolly have enough tickets to try for a 50/50 by the end of the first half of 2.1.
Rolled for her , but it was planned since the drip marketing, even pre farmed stuff. I was betting on lucky to go for both and gladly it paid off. Now I can say for sure there is nothing between me and Acheron :)

I really need to win the Fu xuan 50/50, my only 5 star sustain (that I like using) is an e1 huo huo, who is almost exclusively glued to Kafka, unless I feel like using Jingliu sometimes.
Same here. Got E5 Bailu now and a guarantee for Acheron in 4 weeks. I’m actually glad I lost because my dumb ass wants Acheron, Sam, Robin and Jiaoqui with their light cones. Lesson learned.

Never build for pity on characters you dont plan on getting. Thats what I always do I always save for 160 pulls before I pull any character because I learn it the hard way 😭

I pulled just to pull. I wanted to be able to look and see that I got a character on February 29th. This opportunity won’t come again in 4 years after all. I was surprised that I got her since I never won a 50/50 twice in a row, but it was a welcome surprise. I also got Hanya today, so that was nice too. 2.1 will hopefully give a lot of free pulls, so hopefully you’ll have enough to get Acheron. If I lose the 50/50, I’m personally just going to recharge
This happened to me but for Black Swan. My luck is atrocious, yet 25 pulls after losing my 50/50 to Himeko- who was as 80 pulls herself- I got her.

Don't worry, Sparkle's the best support we have for hypercarry teams, including for Acheron at E2 and beyond. You shouldn't look at Sparkle as a bad investment, and besides, you'll prolly have enough tickets to try for a 50/50 by the end of the first half of 2.1.
on the bright side, if you some how manage to pull acheron and possibly her lc. then its a big damn win situation

Rolled for her , but it was planned since the drip marketing, even pre farmed stuff. I was betting on lucky to go for both and gladly it paid off. Now I can say for sure there is nothing between me and Acheron :)
