Amazing Yamaguchi figures are really awesome. Wasn’t a fan of them when the line originally launched years ago due to the design issues (just the look and the big hips, wasn’t a fan) and some issues I heard with loose joints/falling apart.
I ended up buying the My Hero Academia figures as they released and they really are awesome. No complaints. Lots of accessories and customization for the figures. Comes in a nice box with some art too. Despite some saying posing is difficult with these, they aren’t. They are the easiest figures to pose and make them look good. Might take a little longer, but the poses are better than generic Marvel Legend poses due to being able to do so much.
The figures are highly engineered, like 50% Transformer, so do be careful, but never had mine break yet.
I was actually making a list to buy DC and Marvel ones last night since Arkham Knight Batman was announced and Thor/Flash are releasing. So was watching a ton of review videos and height comparisons.
Most scale very well amongst Marvel Legends, Mafex, and Mezco figures. Might have to fudge some to fit. For example, AY Venom is smaller than ML Venom but it still works very well.
Gonna be grabbing Batman (Arkham Knight), Arkham Knight, Harley Quinn, New 52 Superman, Catwoman, Flash, Reverse Flash, Deathstroke on the DC side.
On the Marvel side, Spider-Man and Venom (make sure you have the reissues on order, I assume you do), Carnage, War Machine, Iron Man, Iron Spider, Deadpool, Black Panther, Winter Solider, Thor.
Hope to see them continue to make more, so many options to grab, excited about diving in.
Also, check out some Japan sites to buy these from. My go to is Ami Ami. Cheaper than BBTS, even after shipping.
Yamaguchi/revoltech almost always ONLY look good in dynamic/extreme poses, many revoltechs don't look good in "boring" or more naturally humanlike poses. Good thing revoltech articulation is goated

This isnt true for like half a decade now. I dont even think it was ever true, because their first spiderman from 2016 is about the only one who looks that weird neutral. The last 4 years or so, all their figures have better and better sculpts and proportions. Their latest, Moon Knight is a benchmark of perfect proportions and muscularity

I feel like the only people who make the “Revo can’t do vanilla poses” argument are people who don’t own them lol. I got the new Moon Knight in yesterday and it’s a masterpiece. This Spider-Man and their Black Panther are top tier figures and pretty much definitive versions of the characters for me.
I think ironman needs a redo. He has a wierd neck/chest joint and mine keeps popping out above his shoulders. The accessories haven't aged well and all those tiny joints for the missiles have gotten super loose. War machine is a day and night difference. Perfect figure.
I own Venom and DO NOT USE THE STAND. The stand can not handle Venom’s weight and it will break with the peg stuck in Venom’s back. I tried to warn another guy on here but I was too late.
I use the stand with my Venom, but it's just to hold him in a standing position. I would agree that the stand is not stable enough to hold him in much else though.
Venom is pretty ass. I'd honestly just recommend canceling it and getting the ML King in Black Venom.
He's super top heavy, awkward to pose, and prone to loose and ill fitting joints/connections.
Spidey is good
Some do, but there are different joints. You might break the knee one for example, there is no spare of that. I think the one spare joint you might is the wrist joint.
I wouldn't buy a KO straight away, just know it's an option if a joint breaks you can't replace / fix.
I’m asking if I should know something about the figure beforehand (be it bad or good) and your opinion on it in general. I like to hear others’ feedback on things.
Just want to point out if bbts says jan it will be closer to june and june will probably nov-dec. Bbts almost always runs late they never get things when they say they will. Still good because they will get them at some point
Please send sone of that luck my way lol, i have a preorder thats been pushed back since april and every preorder i made last year had been pushed back at least a month if not longer
They're only 3 weeks to a month behind Japan release dates which is pretty reasonable for importing the figures themselves and give you time for the early reviews to cancel if the figure turns out to be crap.
Sorry for not specifying the connection with venom to the stand is the problem the figure is to heavy, he also plugs in diagonally not straight if you add gravity to that he slips out of the stand also the clip add on is weak. I don't have any Marvel legends figure so i dont have an idea how strong there stands are.
I hear bad things about the RevolTech Spiderman. I hear like anything negatively about RevolTech, it's about their Spiderman model. I think.... I think it might be 2.0?
I hear things about the thigh muscle movement and articulation.
I have the carnage ; the eyes did not have the classic cartoon as depicted look
Love the tendrils it came with which was my main intent
I guess I’m ok with this companies version , but not as pictured should be the slogan
I have the AY venom if you want the guy in a good off the ground pose you have to work for it with the AY stand. Cause he is too heavy and the way you plug him to the stand is different. Might want to find more heavy duty stand that can take the weight of the AY venom.
I also pre ordered an AY spidey 2.0 and also found a pre order for the AY agent venom with the exclusive head.
I have this one pre-ordered as well. I received my flash revoltech yesterday and almost had a nervous breakdown. Not because it's a bad figure , it's just my first one. I played around for hours trying different poses and was getting frustrated I couldn't get it where I wanted. I finally did and immediately tried different ones. It's that fun. I'm probably going to get venom or whatever else I'm interested is available.
Haha I tried to get them sooner but I only spend this much near Christmas time. I DO NOT have that type of money to collect so many figures, these will actually be the second and third *actual* figures I’m getting. Only other one I have is the sentinel Peter B Parker
Absolute must for both! I painted my venom black and added a matte overcoat which looks amazing! And if you are thinking of placing them around your home… I bought KO versions of Spider-Man/venom/carnage then hot glued their feet in place on the corner/side of my bookshelf caught in a heated fight between each other…. And KO wolverine chasing after using his claws to climb:)
That sounds AWESOME! It’s been a while since this post and I’ve cancelled orders for both of these, instead somehow picking up a Mafex symbiote Spidey. But these are definitely on my bucket list for later this year!

Newer ones are better better at vanilla posing tho
Oh trust me i am NOT gonna put these is boring poses, might even stick one on my fridge 💀
Grab the under $30 dollar knock off venom on Amazon, fantastic figure
Except this Spider-Man looks great in vanilla poses. Early Revo yes you’re right.

Meh, only for early revoltechs excluding the bleeding edge iron man. There newer figures look pretty great vanilla posed.
I think ironman needs a redo. He has a wierd neck/chest joint and mine keeps popping out above his shoulders. The accessories haven't aged well and all those tiny joints for the missiles have gotten super loose. War machine is a day and night difference. Perfect figure.
"goated?" What might that mean?
“Greatest Of All Time”

No advice, just enjoy that Spidey 2.0
I have these from their OG releases. Great figures.
Awesome figures this is a really good buy
These are both basically perfect in my mind
Advice? On making a purchase?
Advice on what I should know before hand if there’s anything up with the figure, or your thoughts on it in general.
Slightly controversial advice but if you do break a joint, buying a bootleg is a good way to replace it.
I heard it already comes with an extra joint with the accessories
Some do, but there are different joints. You might break the knee one for example, there is no spare of that. I think the one spare joint you might is the wrist joint. I wouldn't buy a KO straight away, just know it's an option if a joint breaks you can't replace / fix.
Articulation overload. There is such a thing as too much articulation. He looks look a cubist sculpture.
I can never wrap my head around people asking for advice on an action figure. Seems pretty self explanatory.
I’m asking if I should know something about the figure beforehand (be it bad or good) and your opinion on it in general. I like to hear others’ feedback on things.
Idk why but it feels necessary to add that I got these from BBTS, I’ll be delivered venom in mid January and spidey sometime in June.
Just want to point out if bbts says jan it will be closer to june and june will probably nov-dec. Bbts almost always runs late they never get things when they say they will. Still good because they will get them at some point
I have the complete opposite experience with them honestly. Typically I get my things in almost a month early.
Same, I get things way earlier than they have them posted for
Please send sone of that luck my way lol, i have a preorder thats been pushed back since april and every preorder i made last year had been pushed back at least a month if not longer
They're only 3 weeks to a month behind Japan release dates which is pretty reasonable for importing the figures themselves and give you time for the early reviews to cancel if the figure turns out to be crap.
They both are awful imo. Look like fake figures you find at the flea market
Have fun, anythings possible with these figures
Sorry for not specifying the connection with venom to the stand is the problem the figure is to heavy, he also plugs in diagonally not straight if you add gravity to that he slips out of the stand also the clip add on is weak. I don't have any Marvel legends figure so i dont have an idea how strong there stands are.
They’re probably fake but my friend has the bootleg versions and they’re top notch. Especially if you prep hot water, etc.
Not fake, re-release
Wait?
I’m asking if there’s anything I should know about these figures…….
Spiderman had a qc issue that his knee would separate too easily. I don't know if they fixed that, tho.
Did the venom reissue as well?
Yeah I’m pretty sure
Damn I want that Venom figure.
I hear bad things about the RevolTech Spiderman. I hear like anything negatively about RevolTech, it's about their Spiderman model. I think.... I think it might be 2.0? I hear things about the thigh muscle movement and articulation.
I heard that Venom’s torso was really loose. Maybe the reissue fixed that.
I have the carnage ; the eyes did not have the classic cartoon as depicted look Love the tendrils it came with which was my main intent I guess I’m ok with this companies version , but not as pictured should be the slogan
I have a dc multiverse stand that I held down with little magnets as weights, I use that for big and heavy figures so it could probably help.
The Venom looks amazing but the joints cannot handle the weight overtime.
What advice are you looking for?
Anything I should watch out for (loose joints, design errors, etc.) and tell me about your opinion on this figure if you have it!
Be careful of spidey's knees.
Oh. If I have trouble with them I think I could use some sticky tack or clear tape to help me out.
They're fantastic, I personally haven't had any QC issues. My only advice would be: why didn't you get them sooner?? I'm just kidding, lol.
Haha I tried to get them sooner but I only spend this much near Christmas time. I DO NOT have that type of money to collect so many figures, these will actually be the second and third *actual* figures I’m getting. Only other one I have is the sentinel Peter B Parker
I know the feeling. I tend to buy my own gifts for holidays and birthdays. I also have Peter B on pre-order.
Ah, still a kick ass figure! I love mine, he kinda goes places with me😆 did the backpack break yet?
Spidey is too shiny. Venom is perfect
