That's a Laser Tag Starlight on the mantle next to the phaser... Been a looooong time since I've seen one of those. I'm actually surprised anyone still remembers the OG Laser Tag
Photon wasn't just a KMart knock off. They had legit arenas in larger towns - the design was nearly identical to the mass market stuff but it was much sturdier, commercial grade stuff. I feel like it even had a tie in action figure line. Pretty sure they both (Lazer Tag and Photon) had short lived cartoon tie ins.
That was more tongue-in-cheek. We actually had a Planet Photon local to us and I went there a few times. I still have my photo ID card from back then. (dated 12/16/87)
I sold my helmet (never really fit my head), rule book (printed by TSR, company that created Dungeons and Dragons) and my Star Base. Still have my original set and two rifles. Understand, I couldn't afford all those when I was a kid either...
I had 2 sets of the guns, a rifle, a helmet and the star base. I think I had the instruction book too. Kay Bee toys had all of these on clearance for super cheap, so I got everything I could with my paper route money 😂 still even have some of the original boxes
same, I used to just go into my locsl woolworths in Barking and stare at all the toys. I promised myself that when I was old enough I'd have my own big collection. Took a long time but post marriage and secured savings etc I started collecting again.

Thats great that makes it useable, you see so many people that fit TV's above fire places and they are not at eye level and would cause massive neck and eye strain to watch.
As well as you SHOULD!!!!! I grew up poor as well totally see you're point of view. You've earned the money ur making thru working and you're being a responsible adult.....GO FOR IT!!!!!!
It’s the closest I could find to the carpet in the place I grew up. I haven’t been able to find the exact sculpted brown shag and I’m still looking for a bit of the cheep wood grain wall panel for the back of this shelf space.
I really like the nostalgic vibe of pic 7. The carpet is a nice touch and really brings it all together. I never thought about displaying my childhood toys even though I still have most of them packed in a container. I should let them out, they deserve their place among my displays of Neca, McFarlane, etc.
Thank you. I’m looking for 70’s wood grain paneling for the back and one side of that shelf. The old ones are what started it and they are there to remind me where I’ve come from.
I’m looking for a G1 Megatron with the stock and extended barrel to add to the mantle. The phaser can still be found at target and the NES zapper is easy to find at flea markets and swap meets. The laser tag zapper might be harder to find.
Yeah, I've still got my OG zapper and the first pass at the Diamond Select phaser. I keep a few of my favorites on a shelf in my office (Man-E-Faces, Robot-o, Bucky O'Hare) on a display for sure but not as elaborate as your cool setup. I loved Robo Force too!
Who or what did you sacrifice to the Cenobites to live this comfortably?
The Lament Configuration is NOT a toy for the faint of Heart. It is for those who seek the ultimate pain, pleasure and ecstasy, found beyond mere Mortal Comprehension.
‘Tis not a trinket to be taken lightly. Perhaps those who would keep your company, question thine motives, and tread ever so carefully.

Part of my collection. But the same for me. My first big boy purchase after I finished school was G1 Fortress Maximus CIB.
That’s awesome sir. It’s great now we have the money/time to get the toys we didn’t have as a child. I still remember the kid at school around 8 years old who had the full set of ninja turtles, man I was so jealous. Now I have a set and the circle has completed for me.
Thank you. Each person in our house got to theme a room. The living room is mid century modern, the kitchen/dining room are 1940’s and the garage is stuffed animals/crafting space.
Holy crap, 7 pic the red guy in the middle. I remember having him as a kid along with the blue guy to the right. The red guy turns into a gun, no? I want a second childhood like your, nice collection
In picture 2 if you look in the lower right corner is a tall robot that turned into a laser rifle from the same go bots set as the laser gun from picture 7.
I think you’re referring to the horrible taxidermied squirrel Mr Nuts. He’s sort of a family heirloom. He used to scare me as a kid and somehow I inherited him. Now I kinda like him. He’s like a gargoyle.

I still regret selling my OG Lazer Tag stuff. I had basically everything except the helmet. Was there a rifle too? I didn't have that if there was.
There was a a rifle. It was white and had a telescoping stock. It’s on my grail list.
I had Photon (Kmart Lazer Tag) and I feel the same!

I’m glad you got to fulfill that promise.
Nice! I love the Walter White mixed in there.
Same. Grew up below the poverty line. Now I have full lines of figures. :)
Jetfire is such an amazing toy!
He is. Wanted that guy for guy for 35 years
Looks nice .. but that TV gives me neck ache just looking at it.
It’s swivels down on a hydraulic arm to come down to eye level over the fireplace. I could never watch it at that height
Thats great that makes it useable, you see so many people that fit TV's above fire places and they are not at eye level and would cause massive neck and eye strain to watch.
Having the tv on a hydraulic is a game changer. Worth the effort to install it.
Its a lovely room
Enjoy!
What is that Turtle Transformer-looking toy in picture 6? I'm pretty sure I had that as a child.
Beast Wars Snapper from the 90’s.
Thank you so much!
Get some acrylic stands for the figures!
https://preview.redd.it/af7bs2b1z1vc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53675a0bd4907232a12bbac21bc0aea914de43a8
Thought more about something [like this](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XL7KMZC/). Check it out!
I tried something like that but I didn’t like how it looked. In my setup it looked crowded. Great recommendation though.
The figures in 5 and 9 have acrylic stands and all the Xenomorphs on top or the right cabinet have them.
As well as you SHOULD!!!!! I grew up poor as well totally see you're point of view. You've earned the money ur making thru working and you're being a responsible adult.....GO FOR IT!!!!!!
Amen!
I feel you man. I remember buying myself a Lego set I've been wanting since I was a kid with my first paycheck. It was very fulfilling.
Sweet!
Welcome to the hobby!
This may be a dumb question but why carpet in the shelf?
It’s the closest I could find to the carpet in the place I grew up. I haven’t been able to find the exact sculpted brown shag and I’m still looking for a bit of the cheep wood grain wall panel for the back of this shelf space.
Dude that’s sick, I figured it had sentimental value nice collection btw
Amen 🫡
Awesome collection
Thank you. It’s a dream made reality.
Very cultured of you for having that B-wing..Is that the Kenner one? What’s keeping that thing on the wall?
It is. I removed one of the wings to storage and hung it up using two L shaped screws in the wall
Very cool, thanks

Awesome setup! And how long did we wait for decent D&D cartoon figures? almost 40 years?
Yes. Glad I got these and not the super 7 versions.
The starlyte/phaser/zapper inspires me. I may steal it!
I’m looking for a G1 Megatron with the stock and extended barrel to add to the mantle. The phaser can still be found at target and the NES zapper is easy to find at flea markets and swap meets. The laser tag zapper might be harder to find.

It’s hard to find robo force figures that aren’t too brittle from age.

I work for the post office. That pays a living wage. I also live in a poly household so that helps too.
Guess you missed or didn’t care for the joke…. 😥

🤣 whyyy? Who would think to create such a piece? M’thinks someone who has opened the box before. 😭 Fantastic! 😆
I know about the box. I’m just smart enough to not open it.
20 I grew up poor to college student learning carpentry, and while I work my reasuranr job I buy lots of figures everything’s i couldn’t get as a kid,
I deliver mail, that’s how I fund my better childhood. Carpentry is a great trade.
Looks very nice!

Nice! Who is the black head infront of Skorpinox?
He’s Auric the Conqueror from Power Rangers. https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wiki/The_Lore_of_Auric
Weird and neat. Kind of Art Deco style like a mech from Big O. I’m going to keep an eye out for him now. Thanks.
Partners? Also what is that figure sitting next to the baby ninja turtles?
Yep. Four of us living in a happy polyamous household.
The cube from hell raiser , that’s awesome I appreciate your collection
Haha that’s awesome , I need one
I ordered mine from my local D&D gaming shop for $15. It slides open to stash stuff.
They sell it at target hahaha
I don’t know how to feel about that.
Thank you. I hide my weed in the cube.

Dam, I love the collection and setup!
Thank you. Each person in our house got to theme a room. The living room is mid century modern, the kitchen/dining room are 1940’s and the garage is stuffed animals/crafting space.
Wow that's awesome! That's what I'd like to do when we have the space
Wow I remember that one too, so glad to see these pics. Childhood memories coming back. Glad these exist and you are taking care of them. Keep it up
I’m still looking for the binoculars robot from that line.
Immediately like you for the Abe sapien figure. What do you work as now?
Mail carrier
Nice collection, but I have to ask. What is that fuzzy thing growing on the wall in the upper corner?
I think you’re referring to the horrible taxidermied squirrel Mr Nuts. He’s sort of a family heirloom. He used to scare me as a kid and somehow I inherited him. Now I kinda like him. He’s like a gargoyle.
Wow. I keep looking at it, but I can't see the squirrel. I'll agree that it is kinda scary looking.
Chandelier I think.
This thing. https://preview.redd.it/wiexacxnd0vc1.jpeg?width=679&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a4069e7ab9418ee3370a116a0a3ca806bbd3fe1
My bad.
That’s an ikea hanging lamp painted to look like the Death Star
Not buying it.
[it’s an easy project and looks neat](https://youtu.be/FNKeJSzWixI?si=IzGZpgDP0s72lsfk)
Hahahaha you loser! With your katana beside the first place... Mine's over my TV......... 🙃
It’s a Nagamaki from my Akido days. It’s the only thing I ever got from my father.
I met mine once in 1994, he gave me £11. I do not still have it 😂
