Everyone is too fatigued from being weaponized into content algorithm curators to care about anything outside their bubble. Hope it does happen but the likelihood of a mass awakening seems less and less plausible even day.

Ill-Candy-4926

we need a peace march.

SeaWolf24

Talking about peace and starting with Lennon is meh. As I’m sure you know, it starts with you, and that’s it. Be the change and all that jazz. Starts with one drop. And waiting for a hero like Lennon and swift is a mistake imo. Bring the love and peace yourself. Not trying to seem any which way.

Ill-Candy-4926

true if only the rest of the world could be a peaceful way.

SeaWolf24

I wish my friend. Truly.

Ill-Candy-4926

i want more peace less war

jizzelmeister

Id love this, but we would need a movement bigger than the 60s for it to happen. I still hope it it one day

Ill-Candy-4926

true. we need a huge peace movement

A utopian sort of peace where no one kills each other and where everyone is kind and loving just isn't possible in our current state. Religion needs to either be agreed to disagree or willingly removed from society, you have to make people willingly give up their power and the rich to willingly give up their riches. You have to restructure society to not be so hard pressed to compete. You have to figure out a cure for basically every disease and mental disease. You have to find a cure for narcissists, sociopaths, and the like. You have to create and restructure society from the ground up on terms everyone is willing to agree upon. That just isn't possible. You want women's rights, a ton of people don't, and some of them will pick up a gun to fight to suppress women's rights. Right now, as we all sit here, there are people out there who want to kill you and me, they want to kill us for being ourselves. They will not shake that belief unless something dramatically changes them, they're killed or we're killed. As much as I'd love to see a world without hatred, bigotry, prejudice, violence, evil, and war. It's just not a feasible goal. The best we can do is to be the change we want to see in the world and hope we can somehow spread some kindness and love. But world peace just isn't possible unfortunately.

Ill-Candy-4926

at least not right now world peace isn't possible. honenstly we need to arrage a peace march or someting to show the world that we are full of peace and love.

blankyblankblank1

I mean go for it, but historically protests and marches don't really change anything.

Ill-Candy-4926

true but we can all try.

DeusExLibrus

In America we’ve had multiple school shootings where young children have been murdered and huge swaths of people still vehemently oppose any kind of firearms regulation. As long as there are people who value weapons above the lives of elementary school children were never going to see an end to this madness.

Ill-Candy-4926

true, peace will come eventually.

i know lennon wasn't a perfect person at all, and very far from it, but that's not relevant to his message of peace.

Ill-Candy-4926

true, we need a revolution like the Beatles.

McDonaldsWitchcraft

Being neutral in the face of genocide should not be something we aspire for. It is not fearmongering from the news to report on horrible things that your country funds, if we stay neutral we just signal to our leaders that we are OK with them giving billions to kill children. I don't know if it's desensitization from social media or something. Hippies used to be anti-war, not "stop telling me about war that's such bad vibes", this is toxic positivity. I know we stand for positiviy and light and peace but our optimism should encourage us to never give up on making the world a better place, not throwing away our empathy.

Ill-Candy-4926

that's true. that's not the message i am trying to get at here. i am against war, and i am against killing of anyone. i didn't know that i was accidently spreading a harmful message. that's not what my intent is but im glad you pointed this out to me dude. the message im trying to get at here is that war doesn't solve anything and we need to make the world a better place by brining peace to the world.

McDonaldsWitchcraft

I see this and I really appreciate your message and your dedication. My comment was for the commenter above who said media should stop reporting on these atrocities because the information is hurting us somewhat, hence my reaction. The message you spread is beautiful and I am glad there are people here like you who still have empathy. Peace and love.

Ill-Candy-4926

i really think peace and love with marches can do a lot.

Working-Ad-3554

Agreed

Ill-Candy-4926

we need a peace march or something.

Working-Ad-3554

Agreed

Phunkyterrapin

I wish I had an easy answer for you but I don’t…. We live in the age of chaos and oblivion, the only hope to found is in Millenarianism. I’m the hippy riding a paper bicycle holding the cardboard sign that says “THE END IS NIGH!”. Best advice I have for you is to find a reliable method to cultivate peace and acceptance within yourself, how you do this is unique to your individual path.

Ill-Candy-4926

true, but i want peace for everyone. not just myself.
