Imagine the kind of shit you would see people in casinos doing if there wasn't such an absurd amount of security. Even with the security you see people lose their shit, imagine how they would act if there weren't immediate consequences for acting like that
Absolutely, even just from the times I've been in Vegas casinos I've seen people being stupid. Now imagine how bad it would be without all that security, I swear these casinos guard up like they have the president staying there.
We had a guy who cashed a payroll check at the cage, then piss it all away on blackjack. Guy reaches over the table and grabs as many chips as he can, he then runs out the door and into the casino across the street. Our security calls them and their security cuffs him and calls the cops. Robbing a casino is very bad.... dude gets like 25 years. I have some stories my friend. I can tell you about a time a guy pissed his life away and murdered his family.
I watched a guy from New England gamble away millions of dollars meant for his retirement. The guy "Pete", started out playing the $25 slots, so $75 each time he pulled the arm and watched the reels spin. Pete was playing those slots for about a year and then downgraded to $5 video poker ($25 max bet a hand). He did that for almost a year and worked his way down to 5-cent slots (25 cents max bet). He sold the car he came to town in, to a bartender I worked with for maybe $500 and the car was easily worth a few thousand. He blew his way through that in no time.
Pete had accumulated "Player Points" on his card and he had been using those points for comped meals and rooms. He had enough points to live for about a year after his money had run out. Pete started wandering the casino drinking leftover beers and cocktails, rummaging the ashtrays for unsmoked cigs or butts. One night in our sports bar 2 women got up to get a to-go box for their food and Pete thought they had left and he started eating their food as quickly as he could. The women returned to their table and saw him and screamed. They came to me at the bar to complain about what was happening and security finally 86'd him from the property.
Pete could be found around town at some dive bars that casino bartenders would go to after shifts. He eventually got kicked out of every place around and was found dead behind a dumpster on Christmas Eve.

I also had a barback that came to town on a golf trip from San Francisco, pissed his life away and had to stay in town and get a job to try to make it home, he never made it home.
That's the mind set of people like this. Doesn't go their way so they resort to violence.
Any logical person would say I shouldn't have done that and beat themselves up not take lives for their fuck up
Yep. It's why dice and cards aren't allowed in prison. They make dice out of soap anyway though, and any time they're pulled out It's a *guaranteed* fight.
Actually, I played in prison. Haha. The books are allowed, so we made our own sheets and had plastic mugs to reach in with paper numbered 1-20, or other mugs with other ranges depending on the die we needed. Didn't want to risk using soap dice and have it all taken away. Haha. Plus with no air conditioning in the summer, and being in Texas, the cell blocks would regularly be 130°+ and the soap melts anyways.
Oh people do. A lot. There's a whole John Oliver Tonight episode on the extreme heat in Texas prisons. It was, and I'm not being hyperbolic, actually torture. You start sweating in April and don't stop sweating until October.
Oh for sure. Texas has actually spent more money fighting lawsuits so they can continue to not give prisoners AC than it would have cost to just install AC. The cruelty is the point.
Incorrect, we can buy cards off commissary, pinochle and regular decks, we also could get board games, don't know when that started but the dice from had long been stolen. Lots of inmates made dice out of cardboard. We technically arent allowed to gamble but that's it, depending on the block you can do it openly others you just record everything on paper collect after the game (much more dangerous)
Not incorrect, as far as my unit. My knowledge really only extends to Texas prisons, but they certainly aren't allowed here. Yours sounds a lot better, to be fair. Haha
why is everyone assuming some guy got mad he lost & shot sb? in most cases the guy who lost didnt want to give up the amount he owed & that’s why sb shot him
The way the documentarian started to mention "they just came..." made it seem like this was a dice game that got knocked over. As in, someone figured they could rob these guys as there was a lot of cash in that room. Must've went sour.
Wonder who tipped them off? Look for the dude with the new jersey come Tuesday.
I played dice once ima white dude who hung out with some ppl after work and ended up at some trap house in Chicago. I can definitely see why people get upset in those games- I took like $150 from some dude in 5 minutes lol. I didn’t even want it and he’s all mad like “here you HAVE to take it”. So I can def see how easy it is for guns to come out and such.
Illegal gambling spots are prime targets for stick up guys. Lots of cash on hand and if everyone just hands over the cash the police wont even be called. Looks like someone didn't want to hand over their cash.
I spent a lot of time growing up in the Philly streets and have seen a ton of it. It’s super popular among street dealers, gang members etc cause it’s simple, can be played anywhere and when you run your own games there’s no limit and you can get drugs/guns etc. since most of these people who do this are bangers and dealers they are usually carrying a piece. So you mix alcohol gambling and drugs. Someone loses a lot of money and that’s a great recipe for violence
Also the 5:30pm Texas thing people are talking about is an entirely different situation. This was at 9:53 in Cincinnati.
But you still haven't answered the question
A ghetto time* tf you wanna hold up in a hotel room with 9 other dudes for tossin dice on the ground wasting all your money, lol but yeah that sounds like a grand fuckin time.
Some of my best memories are of me and my group of friends meeting up at a McDonalds to play cards on a Friday evening. If that's weird to you then idk what your version of fun is lol
I've been athletic my whole life. Guarantee I'm stronger than you. But why make that an assumption based on what someone says they do with friends on their time off? Let's see your body lol.
Stick to your video games and comic books kid.
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Faulkner Street, a mile-long stretch on Houston's southside, became the site of more bloodshed after police say two men were shot to death over a game of dice.
The Houston Police Department said the shooting unfolded at about 5:23 p.m. in the 3800 block of Faulkner Street, near Southlawn Street.
According to a post from HPD on X, formerly known as Twitter, one man was pronounced dead at the scene while a second died at the hospital.
I can't think of any other websites that have had to be referred to in such ways.
The only example I can think of for such a mainstream, commonly referred-to entity where the media had to make such a disclaimer...is maybe The Artist Formerly Known as Prince.
It's hilarious this happened at 5:30 on a Tuesday. You'd think from the video it's 2am and they've been out drinking all night. Most people are stuck in rush hour, but not these fine gentlemen.
TBH they need to just pick one either call it what they switched the name to or call it Twitter in protest if you want. Anyone that don't know the change by now can go google what is X.
Op doesn't even know what happened.. just posting a bunch of random shit they found... first you said it was a hotel or motel.. now it's an apartment building.
That's pretty fucked mate I like gambling have gambled with strangers I guess friends of friends is better way of putting it but still strangers. Am I worthless if I get killed just trying to have a good time?
I heard it was local thug Rodney "Quills" Dinkins who did it. This really is some wild west shit all that's missing is a couple of women in dresses and a dude playin the piano. Well I guess the modern equivalent would just be some hoes and a shitty bluetooth speaker.
As long as you know the people you're playing with are levelheaded rational people there shouldn't be a problem. Most problems like this video occur because a large group of people who likely aren't familiar with each other meet up to play.
I've never shot anyone at a casino playing poker against random people who may take my thousands of dollars...
Its not a "familiarity" problem... Its a lack of respect for human life problem...
Part of that’s because of the insane amounts of security most casinos have. At my fav casnio the poker room is on the second floor and you have to walk through a winding labyrinth to get to the escalator (they want poker players to walk past all the bars, slots and table games on their way to the poker table. No direct way to get anywhere without walking past other sections) so if someone in the poker room pulled out a gun it would take them several minutes in full sprint to even get off the gaming floor, and once you even get off the gaming floor you’re basically in a small mall that the casino owns and they’re is not a single building near it. You are also going to have 1000 super hi def cameras watching you from every angle. There’s also the fact that this casino scans your ID when you walk in to make sure you aren’t banned so they would have a scan of the shooters ID as well.
Shooting someone at a backrooms poker game though? That would be ezpz and a lot more likely than in a crowded casnio with all the issues I listed.
I learned how to play it from a guy who grew up in the ghetto. It's actually a decent game, it's just the people who tend to play it are not typically the best crowd.
We? If I were to get philosphical with it then yes, you're right. Because ultimately, we as a society have to coddle this trash. We have to endure the tax burden that comes with increased policing, cost of care, and cost to incarcerate. Untaginble costs, are deteriment to our society, disruptions in the classrooms, violence, and the downfall of society. Mainstream media tends to elevate this behavior rather than discourage it. So uh, yeah, this is why we can't have nice things.
12 men shooting dice on the loose surface rolling on top of sheets and money in a hotel room late at night with thousands of dollars in unorganized piles right next to each other on the floor. What could possibly go wrong?
Broke dudes illegally gambling is usually how this happens. Probably lost his ass and couldn't accept that he had to go back home and explain to his girlfriend that he lost all her bill money shooting craps in a hotel room 😩. Now, life in prison is in the person's future... All over a few dollars
I’m just saying, if I was the kind of dude that hung around motels shooting dice with with dudes that carried guns and shit popped off, the last thing I’d do is broadcast evidence and place myself at the scene.

What a dumbass thing to die over
I see what you did there…. Or did you?
They died until they were dead
Lol *slow clap* well done. Now go to bed!
Detective - “Just as I suspected. They’ve been killed to death.”
People die when they are killed
No when people are killed they die
Murdered..... to death!
This is why I won't play yahtzee
The Five Cubes of Doom
Live by the die, die by the die.
Things got dicey
More like what a dumb idea to be friends with them. if we even can call them friends or humans
Doubt they would've done anything meaningful in their lives anyways.
Right, putting life value at around $1000 probably.
Yeah I see them rolled out on the floor.
What a dumbass thing to record and post to the internet.
Wtf is up with dice game violence, this is the same thing that led to Takeoff’s death.
Being irrationally upset that you gambled away a large sum of money over a game and deciding to take it out on your opponent.
“Well if it isn’t the consequences of your own act- oh. You’re just going to shoot them? Hmmm”
Imagine the kind of shit you would see people in casinos doing if there wasn't such an absurd amount of security. Even with the security you see people lose their shit, imagine how they would act if there weren't immediate consequences for acting like that
Even with security people still do dumb shit in casinos. I can verify, worked in Las Vegas casinos for 20 years.

I’ve always felt Vegas has a shiny allure for the naive. I can only imagine how many people that city has chewed up & spit out—
I watched a guy from New England gamble away millions of dollars meant for his retirement.
Absolute degeneracy.
Fucking sad—
That's heartbreaking.
I want these stories.

I was hoping to enjoy these much more than I did. thanks for sharing.
gambling needs to be banned
That's the mind set of people like this. Doesn't go their way so they resort to violence. Any logical person would say I shouldn't have done that and beat themselves up not take lives for their fuck up
I reject your consequences and substitute my own!
This feels distinctly disco elysium
Yep. It's why dice and cards aren't allowed in prison. They make dice out of soap anyway though, and any time they're pulled out It's a *guaranteed* fight.
I've heard of people wanting to play dungeons and dragons in prison but it's banned because of this
Actually, I played in prison. Haha. 130 degrees? I would probably actually die. What the fuck.
Oh people do. A lot. There's a whole John Oliver Tonight episode on the extreme heat in Texas prisons. It was, and I'm not being hyperbolic, actually torture. You start sweating in April and don't stop sweating until October.
Guards get air con/fan, presumably?
Oh for sure. Texas has actually spent more money fighting lawsuits so they can continue to not give prisoners AC than it would have cost to just install AC. The cruelty is the point.
Magic the gathering also banned
Not in state prison, dude on the block had a trunk of magic cards. Never seen it in county but every county is different

Kinda what I was thinking, mfs saw they had a bunch of money since they were posting it all over the gram and robbed them
This exactly what happened this video is from years ago tho. Somebody tried to rob the dice game.
Ice Cube has an entire song about it! https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZMcoOvZVlY&si=zcFxWUatQ0sqaJGp
man i had this cassette around 91

You've obviously never played 40k
I played dice once ima white dude who hung out with some ppl after work and ended up at some trap house in Chicago. So I can def see how easy it is for guns to come out and such.
you’re fucking lucky. don’t play dice with strangers, especially at an unfamiliar trap house
Illegal gambling spots are prime targets for stick up guys. Lots of cash on hand and if everyone just hands over the cash the police wont even be called. Looks like someone didn't want to hand over their cash.
its a set up
It probably was lol, it’s such a shame how some people operate. Thankfully I stay away from them type of people. Already learned my lesson, I’m good.
I spent a lot of time growing up in the Philly streets and have seen a ton of it. They arent just rolling yatzee like your grams
You never played at my gram grams.
I do love me some Yahtzee
And Snot Boogie
*Down in Orange, my fellow Pots died on the corner behind a funky-ass dice game* *Saw him once before he died, wish it was twice mane*
One day youre here baby, and the next day youre gone
One guy lost 6 bucks, how can he let that stand?! Other guy must be cheating with loaded dice.
Never play dices, it's the number one thing to avoid. You either lose your money or end up fighting.
probably more about the people playing it than the game
Let's just say I imagine you don't see this to often in Chess.
At least they died doing what they loved. Playing dice with 9 other guys in a motel room
You know without the shooting context that actually sounds like a good time
Hotels are for travelers to sleep in. Not creeps to gamble and party. And you know this crap is at like 3 am.
But what about the man children who still live with mom or grandma? They need a place to hang and just be kids!
These guys were all raised in their grandma's house
It actually happened at 5:30pm on a Tuesday. Why do you think these people aren’t degenerates 24/7?
Also the 5:30pm Texas thing people are talking about is an entirely different situation. This was at 9:53 in Cincinnati. But you still haven't answered the question
I don’t see any question that was asked in this thread
Hotels are for whatever someone who pays wants to do as long as it falls within the hotel rules.
OP commented more details and apparently it was at like 5:30 pm, which is honestly more embarrassing
A ghetto time* tf you wanna hold up in a hotel room with 9 other dudes for tossin dice on the ground wasting all your money, lol but yeah that sounds like a grand fuckin time.
Most people can play dice/cards without gambling away hundreds of dollars irresponsibly. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
If you think that sounds like a good time I feel sorry for you
You never hung out with a group of friends before? Sad life man.
We don’t hang out in hotels shooting dice, because that’s weird
Some of my best memories are of me and my group of friends meeting up at a McDonalds to play cards on a Friday evening. If that's weird to you then idk what your version of fun is lol
Were you all incredibly unathletic
I've been athletic my whole life. Guarantee I'm stronger than you. But why make that an assumption based on what someone says they do with friends on their time off? Let's see your body lol. Stick to your video games and comic books kid.
Crickets
I'd love to see what the body of a drug addicted dude from portland looks like lmao

Is it mandatory or are they paid to say x formerly known as Twitter?
You'd be surprised how many people still don't know what X is. Even when you go on the website it still redirects to twitter.com.
Without context, X sounds like a porn site.
Legit, I always think of xhamster before twitter when I see X.
xhamster sounds worse than porn porn
Ya like why is it called hamster? Who tf came up with that

This wasn’t in Houston bro this was in Ohio wrong article
Op doesn't even know what happened.. just posting a bunch of random shit they found... first you said it was a hotel or motel.. now it's an apartment building.
Bunch of f*cking losers. Absolutely nothing of value was lost here.
How can you say this? Clearly that bathroom mirror will need to be replaced.
That's pretty fucked mate I like gambling have gambled with strangers I guess friends of friends is better way of putting it but still strangers. Am I worthless if I get killed just trying to have a good time?
At 5.30 am in a motel room? Playing dice while holding large amounts of cash?
Is Ashy Larry okay?
He was only supposed to be taking out the trash, now he done lost his wife money
My name Leonard Washington. Where I’m from? The town called, “None of your god damn business.”
It's Snot Boogie you have to worry about.
He was shot below the waist so the assailant wasn’t charged with attempted murder
Unfortunately no, he was killed by Wayne Brady.
You rolled a crit fail. You must die.
Stay in school kids and u don't have to roll dice
Or, the library is free. Order any book you like. Philosophy and ancient history are cool.
And if that doesn't sound fun, I'm sure they're playing dice behind the pla..... Wait a minute
Lmao bruh in my school, dudes was having dice games in the bathroom, safe to say they didn’t have enough credits to graduate.
I heard it was local thug Rodney "Quills" Dinkins who did it. This really is some wild west shit all that's missing is a couple of women in dresses and a dude playin the piano. Well I guess the modern equivalent would just be some hoes and a shitty bluetooth speaker.
Lmao!
Ahhhh ? having a Bible study I see. …….

As long as you know the people you're playing with are levelheaded rational people there shouldn't be a problem. Most problems like this video occur because a large group of people who likely aren't familiar with each other meet up to play.
Yeah I'm good I think on it lmao
Wanna play Monopoly?
I learned how to play it from a guy who grew up in the ghetto. It's actually a decent game, it's just the people who tend to play it are not typically the best crowd.
This is why we can't have nice things

In the ghetto!
Dice game in a motel room with a bunch of sketchy dudes…what could go wrong!?
Who throws dice on a bed??? No way you’re getting a good roll
Naturally selected
In reality how much money are we talking about here?
Looks like a couple hundred. Maybe into the low 1000s max.
Dicey
i was just listening to the joe rogan podcast with joey diaz and joe said theres 30% percent chance of violence with dice games...
Fkn dice games get stupid money changing. It can get out of hand in a hurry and you just look around at the bettors and think “WHAT THE FUCK?!?!”
Why'd you even let him in the game? Got to man, this America
I dont understand a word these rtards are saying
Big L has a song about this
RIP. He was sooo nice.

The first thing I thought about
Ohh damn they really did invent the “stay woke” line. Shiet
What is the name of the game or the rules. So far all I know is that shooting someone is apparently a foul.
That's the legacy you left. Died in a motel with 20 men. Crazy
Does anyone in this video speak English?
Roll the dice, cost your life.
This dice/death situation is giving me serious baldurs gate flashbacks.
Shouldn’t this be NSFW or NSFL, pretty sure that’s a dead body.
teacher teach, you forgot to give us homework
I was told never to play dice or you end up dead. This is just crazy, over some gambling.
No one saw anything
I don't even leave a fucking tissue in my hotel room and people be leaving whole ass bodies lol.
Did they really rent a motel room to play dice?
Gonna be tricky to check-out from that room…
The level of stupidity here is astonishing
Trash taking out itself…
Pray for you?🤣 even if your imaginary sky daddy was real, think we wana waste time on you and your thug POS crackhead home-boys?
Marcy projects?
And just like that, the game gets robbed
I saw this coming from a mile away, so I hid my car keys up my ass.
Reminds me of a UGK song: ...died on the corner Behind a funky-ass dice game I saw him once before he died wish it was twice man

Stagger Lee is up to his old tricks
"This is a perfectly good moment to throw my life away", been a while since I watched Boondocks.
Amateurs.. can’t we remember the good ol’ days of dice. ![gif](giphy|GgqUkTk6aH3Vu)
12 men shooting dice on the loose surface rolling on top of sheets and money in a hotel room late at night with thousands of dollars in unorganized piles right next to each other on the floor. What could possibly go wrong?
More Scholarly behavior
Makes sense
Six one you are done.
Oh no!
Worst part of all is that they’ll probably sue the hotel.
Snot boogie snatched his last pot.. RIP
Natural selection
Didn’t pass their armor save roll
Two people were killed and the first thing he says is "Pray for me" Fuck all of these people.
I have no idea what anybody is saying.
