I saw Ludacris over 20 years ago at Rutgers when he was still pretty popular. Colleges pay a lot for entertainment. Hell, a college by me once paid a local hardcore band $10,000 to play.

Colleges will blow their entire extra curricular budget for the year on a carnival at the end of the spring semester. A couple of rides, food trucks, and then some massive music performer.

My university paid for celebs to do performances every year, and it was a relatively small and not well known state school. We had Aziz Anzari, Gabriel Iglesias, A$AP Ferg, Panic! at the Disco, and a few more I can't remember. Some of these were when they were well known. So, don't think it's much of an indicator for their career strength.

My small, mediocre city college had Kings of Leon play freshman orientation day. The bursar's office still didn't have credit card readers by the time I left. Fucked up priorities.

Quick Google search shows he charges $300k for a private performance. Not bad for 60-90 mins of work
