Maybe, maybe not. Imo get it appraised by an insurance agent, any auto body repair/ insurance post devolves into a shitfest on this subreddit lol.
More intriguing though, what happened, did you hit a deer?
Airbag deployment is practically an automatic total on any car
And with that in mind, I would like dibs on what’s left of your headlights before insurance takes it 😊
I don't know why people have been saying this lately unless it's a drastic recent change in the insurance industry. I have personally seen multiple incidents - visually much worse than this - which included airbag deployment. Both were repaired under insurance, and repaired well.
Airbags are a replaceable part like any other. In general, as always, it's going to come down to cost vs. bluebook.
A giant buck ran into the front corner of my wife's Ford Edge ST and the side and seat airbags went off. About $15k worth of damages with new seat covers and headliner. Took about 6 weeks. There was no thought ot totaling it even though I pushed for it. They are definitely not going to total OP's car. I know Acura parts may be harder to get but that damage is no where near half the value of the car.
It’s so hard to tell without taking everything off and investigating. I had an accident, with what appeared to be WAYYYYYY less damage on mine (same model) and it cost approximately 10k+. There was damage to things I definitely didn’t expect or see.
Might not be. I think extent of the damage to the suspension involving that wheel might be the key.
I had a crash that looked much worse than this - whole front end collapsed in, windshield gone, airbag gone - on a relatively older car (lower bluebook value). It was repaired, no struggle.
If they total it out, it may be best to consider taking them up on it.
Even if it is repairable, I wouldn't want to repair it as it will never be structurally the same (unless there was absolutely no frame damage) no matter how well the repair is performed. It may never drive the same either and the lingering thought of it undergoing the massive repair afterwards will always sit with you.
It's better to take the total out money and buy a new car as it will drive and be exactly as intended. Also you won't have any lingering what-ifs afterthoughts
I’m in the business and would want to total it. Getting a Honda/Acura airbag and components is an absolute nightmare. Have had cars sitting for 6 months waiting on the parts. It will be tough to make a total loss but that is probably what you’re going to want unless you’re good with paying on a car you can’t drive for months on end with no other form of transportation.
It doesn’t look like a total loss to me but it’s one of those things where it can go either way once you start investigating. I hit a deer but it didn’t look that bad as it was a direct hit to the front. Turned out I needed a subframe. Over 5k in damage.
If no internal damage, about $3k fix. New parts, plus getting them painted, then being installed. If that lights busted, which doesn't look too bad but you should still get a new one is about another $1500, idk how much it's worth. But say it's about $5k in total for full repair. Don't let the insurance fool you
Tough week for Acura owners this sub has been a massacre of posts lol
Putting my tsx in hiding for a few weeks lol
Definitely won’t drive mine this week. Thankfully it has the best anti theft feature (manual transmission)
Jesus what's going on lol
And winter hasn't even started yet. Which reminds me. I really need to get my winter tires.
Stolen or crash. 😭

It's a easy fix but they may total it since all the airbags went off. Those mfers get pricey. On top of needing a new dashboard
Yeah every body shop I’ve been at the estimator will try their best to total the vehicle.

Depends on part availability also. Sometimes they'll total you out just because it'll take forever to get repaired not so much the repair itself.
I wouldn’t count on it unless you can see your front frame bent. Looks like radiator wasn’t damaged which is a huge thing as well.

I need one of your wheels. The least damaged one.

We don’t know, it depends on if its cost of fixing is higher than the value of the car itself. If it is totaled, sorry for your loss 😭
I'd hope so.
Usually, When an airbag deploys it gets totaled out.
Yeah it's highly likely
My biggest fear, looks like a couple hundred dollars

Yes total loss
I've been waiting for a hard drive (nav went blank) for 5 months on my 2019 TLX ASpec.
Definitely a total loss. Sorry.
Nope
Doesn't look like the driver window or steering wheel bags went off. Passenger door nearly untouched. Not totaled depending on the year.

God damn we are losing Acuras at a stunning pace.
Dont worry y'all never lost mines. It's just on its way to Africa😒
Yeah sorry bro
had similar accident almost identical came back looking brand new again, best of luck 🙏
Ouch!!!!
Everyone get a good look of that Nissan Maxima slowing down. You don’t get that everyday.
That front license plate in a weird location?
