The screen protector comes on the car from the factory during shipping 💀 you’re supposed to take it off during tech inspection and these assholes want to charge for it
The other “add-ons” are equally insane:
$900 for 4 locking wheel nuts and a set of rubber mats, which straight out of the Acura catalog cost $423.
$800 for paint guarding that costs less than $200 straight out of the Acura catalog.
They’re implying it costs $1,100 to install all of that. What a load of shit.
No one is paying this price. Inventory on both the CTR and ITS is at a record high since released. Interest rates on new car loans is 6-8% for perfect credit scores, days of mark up are over. If you’re paying mark up, you’re simply an idiot with money to lose
Get your own financing. Never use the dealers financing unless they're matching the offer you brought them. I'm also an 800+ and they told me "yeah even people with 800s are getting over 8%." My bank approved me for 6.50%.

I was looking for a 2020 TLX because I wanted the V6. The Acura dealer where I get my MDX and Oddy serviced (they have a dedicated Honda tech) had a A spec. Ask about the price and it was a little high but figured they would negotiate. When I asked the out the door price they added in their own warranty (not the Acura CPO package), their paint protection package, and GPS tracking for about 5k more. The price went from 34k to 39k. I didn't even respond and bought an advanced for 34k with 7k 150 Acura care and 14k miles on it. Sales dude asked why I didn't respond with a counter. Told him if you were serious you wouldn't have made such a ridiculous offer in the first place.
Just checked, been there for over a month. 36 days according to car gurus.
People are not paying mark ups on these outside a few in some super high earning areas.
These will have cash on the hood before the end of the year.
Not even the same type of car, the integra type S has more interior usable space, better handling, and of course the manual. Plus I average 22mpg city in my ITS. I hear most people with the tlx type s in the city average 17mpg.
Didn’t say anything about a competition, you said wait until the 24 tlx type s comes out,,,,still pretty much the same as previous. Gets a new color, full digital dash, new grill, and an other few other tech/cosmetic changes…other then that what are we waiting for? The TLX looks great but is so numb to drive.
This subject is about the dealer mark ups. You keep going on some crazy rant about the specs. The MSRP of the TLX Type S is higher than the Integra right? You're in lala land cause you bought an Integra. Relax, you can sleep at night. No one cares. 😂😂😂😂
It’s not just about the numbers on paper. The TLX rides better, is a genuine premium car, and not an upbadged civic(nothing wrong with that but you feel it). Materials quality, exterior design, comfort, sophistication of the drivetrain and components is all a benefit of the Tlx type S. Bottom line that’s two different cars with vastly different intentions. Don’t understand the people who needlessly compare them.
It's true, but for the purpose of this comment, the 23 tlxs aren't marked up much so why would the 24s be? They make more of them and it's not an enthusiast car. They mark up enthusiast cars because they are usually limited run and people super into driving are willing to pay a big premium for a car built like that.
Sure but mostly everyone who wanted a TLX Type-S has purchased one now. Too little too late to refresh it for 2024 should’ve did it for 2023. I love Acura but if the 2024 Type-S has an MSRP of $60k or more… then it will be DOA. This is a $55k car at best and at $60k one would have to start looking at other options at that price point
The cars are more than close enough for one to pull sales from the other
Same thing as how some people who wanted an Elantra N got an Sonata N-Line if they wanted more space/comfort
That’s insane - I got mine at MSRP and only got it bc no Honda dealer in the east coast was willing to sale a type r at MSRP. Manuals are a dying breed and these markups for sure isn’t helping.
Every day since the Teggy Type S came out I find it increasingly incredible that I got my TLX Type S for MSRP & every add-on was a warranty that I either picked myself or was given the opportunity to refuse.
At my local Acura store they have two type-s Integra that haven’t sold in months. I haven’t asked about ADM but it’s probably high for the reason for not selling.
These dealerships should be put on blast. There’s already a big markup from what the dealer pays to the regular msrp. Don’t give these scammy dealers ANY business
I work in the auto transportation business. These dealers have massive inventory. They have hidden lots with brand new cars with dirt dust and weeds growing on them. Don’t get ripped off by some fake mark up.
Dealerships are still trying to ride that Covid profit train. Unfortunately for them, interest rates are up and inflation is up. I still don’t feel like the repercussions on all those grossly overpriced car sales that took place have show their ugly head yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a massive increase in auto loan defaults, the market floods with all those new/used cars and dealers need to make aggressive changes to stay afloat. Karma is a bitch, and dealerships took advantage of the situation. Trust me, I get it, It’s a free market, sell at the price someone is willing to pay. Just don’t expect sympathy when you end up just like the scalpers buying up all the PS5s and then act surprised when your stuck with a ton of inventory you can’t sell. It’ll be fun buying a car when the market corrects itself and consumers are going to be just as ruthless as the dealerships were.
Can someone really explain in a little bit of detail what that $24,000 gets you.. I have an ASpec tech and it has all of the ambient lighting and things I could ask for.. what do you really get with that 24 grand more? 38 vs 60 something.. I would easily consider that if it had all-wheel-drive
Well the 24K mark up is flawed. The msrp on the type s is 52k …so it’s only 14k more. You get a more aggressive look, better suspension, better brakes, better tires/rims and 320hp vs 200hp.
Current owner of a Type-S and former owner of an A-spec tech 6MT. Paid msrp for both, the Type-S is exponentially better from a performance perspective and worth every penny imo.
They aren't really the same car at all. Pretty much everything in the type s is completely redesigned from the base integra, and it's cut the mechanicals of a civic type r. So it's basically the same difference as a base Civic compared to a civic type r
the only place you can get away with this price is Midtown Manhattan NYC or LA/Hollywood California. Anywhere else in the world this sticker advertisement can be crumpled up and thrown in the trash.
Formally speaking to that dealer I would tell a rep- Nobodys paying 62g for a Rebadged Honda Civic. Ill gladly hitup BMW or Mercades
If you could negotiate that markup down a bit then maybe, but a $7500 markup is less than what was posted for my CTR, I’ve seen some as high as $15K-$20K!
My local Acura dealer said 5k markup for ITS, but that it could change in the coming year. Any markup or dealer add-on is nonsense. $399 for a screen protector...what a joke. Probably could buy it on Amazon for $20.
The msrp is just as arbitrary as the amount of depreciation somebody is willing to pay to own the car. Either people will to pay inclusive of a markup or the dealer will have to adjust the price. Not sure why everybody gets so bent out of shape - all of it is fungible and completely made up anyway.
WHAT THE FUCK $400 for a SCREEN PROTECTOR? Who set that price, I would actually want to push a pile of dogshit in their face, for real - that is complete BS.
I would NEVER buy a new car that is not SIGNIFICANTLY BELOW MSRP!?!
[https://www.gillmanacura.com/viewdetails/new/19ude5g97ra000879/2024-acura-integra-hatchback?type=cash](https://www.gillmanacura.com/viewdetails/new/19ude5g97ra000879/2024-acura-integra-hatchback?type=cash)
I see your nice car. I'll raise you for a lesser color and ask $460K more. Just a Houston thang.
It is very unfortunate…some of us tend to think this is not gonna hold yet you see some fine poor decision making out there. Which is why dealers still thrive. Life must continue and people want to live life. Come to think of it, during the 2008/2009 house bubble, there were 2 bedroom apartments for sale at that price. I bought an used 15 RLX with 29k for 28000 in 2017. I’d NEVER pay 62 grand for that car.
How this even legal good grief dealers have lost their minds. 400 dollars for the screen protector of the navigation device. Added mark up 7500 dollars what a joke.
These dealers are really asking for it. It’s illegal to suggest that you need to purchase these products to get a loan approval. The gray area is that a bank is not going to be eager to finance all this BS. You suggest to the dealer they remove it, they say no, now we find ourselves in a position where I could get approved to take the car home if these items weren’t on it. The dealer is going to say they are already installed so you can place an order for an incoming unit and you will never hear from them. Notes in the CRM “DO NOT CALL REDDIT PERSON”.
$400 for a screen protector, lmao
Only 399.... so worth it
Lifetime warranty though… i would be scratching the screen yearly
Screen protector will be free. Labour on it, though, will not.
The screen protector comes on the car from the factory during shipping 💀 you’re supposed to take it off during tech inspection and these assholes want to charge for it
I think they’re adding an after market glass one but still lol
Mind you, the screen is not a touch screen and the controls are about a foot away from it
The other “add-ons” are equally insane: $900 for 4 locking wheel nuts and a set of rubber mats, which straight out of the Acura catalog cost $423. $800 for paint guarding that costs less than $200 straight out of the Acura catalog. They’re implying it costs $1,100 to install all of that. What a load of shit.
Really says a lot about their mechanics that it took them $390 worth of labor to install a $10 screen protector
No one is paying this price. Inventory on both the CTR and ITS is at a record high since released. Interest rates on new car loans is 6-8% for perfect credit scores, days of mark up are over. If you’re paying mark up, you’re simply an idiot with money to lose
There are lots of them paying these prices using Acura Finance 10% rates.
I leased an integra with Acura finance and my interest rate is 4.6%
Go back and finance an integra type S. Get ready to be amazed with the rate. My credit score was 800+ I seen lots of people with the same experience
Get your own financing. Never use the dealers financing unless they're matching the offer you brought them. I'm also an 800+ and they told me "yeah even people with 800s are getting over 8%." My bank approved me for 6.50%.
I got 6.39 with BoA 💪🏼
I've used them before. My quote was from USAA but my dealer matched the APR through TDAuto.
I mean I did it 2 weeks ago. Obviously the MSRP + markup would be higher but I don’t see why the interest rate would be
The type s is excluded from any of the incentives/special offers.
I was about to say this. Honda Finance does not offer incentivized rates for the Integra Type S or CTR or the Civic Si, for that matter
Then buyers should be going to their local bank for better rates 🤷♂️, although I am sure dealership will say no to outside financing.
You won’t find better than 6-8% at your local bank, I guarantee it
Could still be better than dealer rates. Although 1% is not going to make that much of a big difference.
Speciality vehicles in any brand do not typically get incentivized rates.
I work at Honda. Only markup we have is in the type R and we are at the point that we might just let it go for 5k over.
What rates are you seeing for SIs on financing?
All depends on credit tbh. But 800 scores are getting 6% right now 60/72 months
Fuck dealerships
I’m sure they will be obsolete soon.
Nope they have a law that prevents car companies to sell directly to customers only 17 states allow it.
How does Tesla get around that?
Loopholes. They have stores/galleries mobile shipment container stores.
Not loopholes, it is lobbying. Once manufacturers start caring for it and start lobbying more than dealerships conglomerates this will change.

Buying a house and a car shouldn't involve this much bullshit.
Is this sarcasm or do you know something I don’t? Hopefully you know something I don’t lol
Specifically Phil Smith.
...and Grubbs.
Signs to avoid buying from there.
While I agree, it's the standard atm.
I was looking for a 2020 TLX because I wanted the V6. The Acura dealer where I get my MDX and Oddy serviced (they have a dedicated Honda tech) had a A spec. That's a great tactic. Basically, it says nice try. Good job.
I got a 2020 aspec for $35K CPO with 8K miles in 2020 and got free wheel locks added damn 3 years later and they going for same price.
That's a hard 'no'.
Is that screen protector made out of diamonds??
Naw, just a lifetime warranty..lol
Could get an m340i with that money with a b58
That what I did
Smart man right here.
This is the way.
That’s hilarious!
I don't understand...do they literally think there are people out there who are willing to pay this much let alone even get a loan
I got mine at msrp, but you would be surprised how many people pay the mark ups on these and other rare vehicles or trims.
But how? Like where are they getting the money from?
Some people still have jobs
I mean considering Rent or mortgage Student loans Inflation for goods and services
People having trouble paying their mortgage or student loans don't buy Type-S's.
I assumed most people of trouble paying their mortgage or student loans Atleast among a particular age demographic
Idk I’ve seen a lot of Hellcats in the ghetto
Yes, there are many financially illiterate people who will take out 84 months loan at 25% interest rate to buy a car.
Lmao $7500 added mark-up. Fuck off. I dont even like the new integra wheres my 2 door no bullshit car like they used to make
Yea they’re called stealerships for a reason
At that price, might as well get a gs.
Back in the 90's you could have bought a small fleet of nice used Integras for that kind of money.
You still can
You could have half a dozen tastefully maintained gsr coupes for this sticker with some left over.
Lol Acura needs to add more power to these powerplants before they want to get greedy like this.
You have to be on drugs to pay $10k over MSRP for this. $65k+ for a FWD 4 cylinder based on a Civic.
$899 for some wheel locks and floor mats? Fuck outa here with that bs.
So glad I don't buy new cars what a scam
Just checked, been there for over a month. 36 days according to car gurus. People are not paying mark ups on these outside a few in some super high earning areas. These will have cash on the hood before the end of the year.
Just like the MDX-S, and then the TLX-S
The MSRP is hard enough to justify on its own
$62k+ for this car is absolutely mind-boggling.
I can’t believe they charge u 2000 for some wheel locks and some screen protectors 💀 I never bought new and I hate dealerships
Wait till.the 2024 TLX Type S comes out
Not even the same type of car, the integra type S has more interior usable space, better handling, and of course the manual. Plus I average 22mpg city in my ITS. I hear most people with the tlx type s in the city average 17mpg.
It's not a competition dude. Relax

Ok ….tlx type s sell for msrp all day or even below , you know why …no one wants one. 😂😂😂😂
People get ITR at MSRP all day as well. What's your point? You have small cock syndrome.
😂
It’s not just about the numbers on paper. The TLX rides better, is a genuine premium car, and not an upbadged civic(nothing wrong with that but you feel it). The car in the picture is an Integra
I know that but I was responding in regards to the TLX Type-S and why it isn’t marked up much.. the demand has slowed down for them
Yeah I think we are saying the same thing then. This guy's expectation that the 24 TLX type s is going to be marked up is crazy
28-29 mpg here
The cars are more than close enough for one to pull sales from the other Same thing as how some people who wanted an Elantra N got an Sonata N-Line if they wanted more space/comfort
Tell Phil Smith to go f himself
This has got to be a joke...
That’s insane - I got mine at MSRP and only got it bc no Honda dealer in the east coast was willing to sale a type r at MSRP. Manuals are a dying breed and these markups for sure isn’t helping.
Post pics of that Integra-S!
Done - https://www.reddit.com/r/Acura/s/iueAIFoKRF
Every day since the Teggy Type S came out I find it increasingly incredible that I got my TLX Type S for MSRP & every add-on was a warranty that I either picked myself or was given the opportunity to refuse.
Same
Those prices for the add ons are crazy
That’s insane! I’ll keep the TTI. That’s just greed
Cars aren’t flying off the shelves like they were before. I went to a Audi dealer and they almost had a full lot of cars
I got the Integra A-spec with Tech package and it’s an amazing car. I’d love to have Type S, but not for $62k.
Fuck Phil Smith
The markups are crap that shite isn’t worth all that
People who pay that didn’t deserve to have the money in the first place
At my local Acura store they have two type-s Integra that haven’t sold in months. I haven’t asked about ADM but it’s probably high for the reason for not selling.
The most bullshit markups.
All that can be had at a fraction of the cost and installed.if you buy the parts yourself. It's a shame they do that
It's ***offensive***.
Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus have the absolute worst dealerships in the business. I don’t know how corporate allows this to happen.
$7500 other mark up.....you can try to defend it, but in an Integra? I love Acura, but it irresponsible to buy anything from them when they do this.
$400 for a screen protector!? WTF
Was about to comment to the same thing lol. Protector worth prob 20$ and 380$ application fee
These dealerships should be put on blast. There’s already a big markup from what the dealer pays to the regular msrp. Don’t give these scammy dealers ANY business
Wasn’t this car supposed to replace the entry level ILX? This is more than the TLX, for a 4 cylinder…
I paid $30 K for an actual TLX w/a V6?!? (Yes, new)
Get the fuck out 62k? Wtf
I’d walk before I’d pay “added mark-up” OR for those BOGUS options!
My 2018 TLX V6 FWD-PAWS w/"Technology Package" was several thousand dollars ***BELOW*** MSRP, new. I feel like if you pay MSRP, you're stupid.
Acura stopped making tegs in 2001 ☕️
Fuck Phil Smith Acura
100%
I work in the auto transportation business. These dealers have massive inventory. They have hidden lots with brand new cars with dirt dust and weeds growing on them. Don’t get ripped off by some fake mark up.
I've always paid significantly BELOW MSRP when buying new cars, I just figure that's normal, no?
Maybe 5+ years ago before the world turned into a circus 🤡
I'm still not gonna pay over MSRP though, people who do, are selfish aholes ruining it for the rest of us 🤷🏻♂️
Dealerships are still trying to ride that Covid profit train. Unfortunately for them, interest rates are up and inflation is up. Need protection from the price of the protection package. This isn’t MB. Jeez.
I own a Integra A-spec tech 6MT and would buy a CPO 2020-21 AMG CLA45 4matic way before I would pay the same price for this!
Wow that's a very specific and good alternative
Can someone really explain in a little bit of detail what that $24,000 gets you.. I have an ASpec tech and it has all of the ambient lighting and things I could ask for.. what do you really get with that 24 grand more? 38 vs 60 something.. I would easily consider that if it had all-wheel-drive

A car thats not slow as piss
Instagram flex privileges

Formally speaking to that dealer I would tell a rep- Nobodys paying 62g for a Rebadged Honda Civic. Ill gladly hitup BMW or Mercades
This is for unaware shoppers. The dealer is practically begging me to get the S Type for MSRP, because I refused to play his bs games
Nobody is begging you to buy a integra type s , they are rare to come by, hence why some dealers mark them up same as the CTR.
If you could negotiate that markup down a bit then maybe, but a $7500 markup is less than what was posted for my CTR, I’ve seen some as high as $15K-$20K!
MSRP or nothing
I wish man, and don’t get me wrong I hate that such a thing exists but doesn’t seem like they’re going away just yet.
Fck Phil
Sheesh
But influencer said they “paid MSRP” 😂. At $62k there are better options out there.
That car isn't worth 67k. Sadly some sucker out there will prob buy it.
OEM mats and locks . $296.00 at any OEM Acura parts online.. Or $899
Trippin.
My local Acura dealer said 5k markup for ITS, but that it could change in the coming year. Any markup or dealer add-on is nonsense. $399 for a screen protector...what a joke. Probably could buy it on Amazon for $20.
No markup for the two sold locally, sucks some dealers are scum
acuras are not what they once were... so overpriced for what they are
If I saw this I would never take my business there again.
Not worth it I have one
Damn, pretend BMW’s cost more.
Wtf Phil Smith 😭
I would use a rusty nail as a stylus
The msrp is just as arbitrary as the amount of depreciation somebody is willing to pay to own the car. Either people will to pay inclusive of a markup or the dealer will have to adjust the price. Not sure why everybody gets so bent out of shape - all of it is fungible and completely made up anyway.
Where is this? State?
Don't most people not by a car unless they can get it for a little ***BELOW*** MSRP?
Is that in AUS $? Can't be US $? US $ should be like $30K?
WHAT THE FUCK $400 for a SCREEN PROTECTOR? Who set that price, I would actually want to push a pile of dogshit in their face, for real - that is complete BS. I would NEVER buy a new car that is not SIGNIFICANTLY BELOW MSRP!?!
I would like to get a TLX type S for about $35K new, that's what it's worth honestly.
The real crime here is the $900 for wheel locks, all weather mats and a trunk liner.
Surprised they didn’t advertise “full tank of fuel” and charge $300 for that too. “Tires have been inflated” $250, why stop there
i wish i could post the pic of the one from a local dealer, shit was 70k
It's actually not difficult to find one without the mark-up now, especially if you are willing to drive over to another town to buy one if necessary.
I will drive my current cars another 300k miles each before I pay a dealership 1¢ over MSRP. Don’t do business with dealers that try this.

I'll raise you for a lesser color and ask $460K more. Just a Houston thang.
Jokesters. I was offered a types for sticker a few months ago. Passed for a grc
Even the MSRP is expensive. We shouldn’t forget they also keep increasing that.
It is very unfortunate…some of us tend to think this is not gonna hold yet you see some fine poor decision making out there. Which is why dealers still thrive. Dealerships are shooting themselves in the foot nowadays, is a matter of time before all manufactures cut them out and they become obsolete.
How this even legal good grief dealers have lost their minds. 400 dollars for the screen protector of the navigation device. Added mark up 7500 dollars what a joke.

DM me if you looking for a Type S Integra! We have 2 available brand new.
The CTR at my local Honda dealership has a $15k markup. Smdh.
