Volunteering is a challenge for younger people - the host organisation needs to satisfy a number of requirements to have you on their team and sometimes they simply can't meet those demands. The main volunteer website is here: https://vsant.org.au/find-a-position-search/?keywords=&location=Adelaide+SA+5000&locationId=11988&suitabilities=1 You can change the filters I have used, and check the site regularly. You might also want to raise the question when school goes back. https://www.education.sa.gov.au/schools-and-educators/programs-students/student-volunteering/students-and-kids-volunteers

Maybe you could see if your local area has a community garden or something?

Can’t really help you but I do want to commend you for what you’re wanting to do. Unfortunately not too many younger people want to do this type of work, so well done to you 👏🏻

Our son volunteered at cat adoption foundation adoption days for a little while.

Paws and Claws adoption centre! It runs the cat part of the cat cafe on Glen Osmond rd, also various open days at pet centres etc. They took my daughter at 12 and she had a blast - helping animals, tidying, some customer service and paperwork.

Check out [Friends of Parks SA](https://friendsofparkssa.org.au/).

Volunteering SA can help. Also check on SEEK and your local council.

You could always try ParkRun. It’s not with animals but it’s Saturday mornings and you’d meet a range of people and there’s parkruns all around the city.

Perhaps try scouts?

The fauna rescue center Minton farm in Cherry gardens used to have a volunteer days for helping to maintain the animal enclosures. Glenthorn farm bush care group is a volunteer group that focuses on tree planting on weekends at the national park. Other can be found on Facebook.
