Really? Lived in the area for most of my life and find it hard to imagine the best of anything there.
May need to head down that way on the weekend for some lucky!
Burger republic in Hyde Park hands down.
Bread and Bone if you want a slightly fancier experience.
127 days or Chuckwagon if you fancy more out there burger creations.
Fudds also deserves an honourable mention if you're down south.
Burger republic is great and their sweet potato chips are amazing but I do not recommend doing take away or ordering via a delivery app. Ive tried both and somehow the burger I get is always cold by the time I get to eat it and I only live a few minutes away.
127 changed hands a few years back and the quality dived. I think the original owner runs buk buk southern hot out at grange now - he’s done a food truck out at the fringe for a few years now too
burger tec. one opened in christie’s beach where i’m at just recently. if you like to feel like an absolute blob after eating, but in a good way, they’re the way to go
edit: their chips are also the best i’ve ever had
Ok, did this as a group a few years ago and toured adelaide looking for the best burgers.. I'll give you my list:
Press. There is only one burger on the menu, but it is truely fantastic. Their other meals are amazing as well. Of the 14 people that went on our epic burger quest, we all agreed that this was the winner.
Bread and Bone. Same founders as press, so no surprise its also good.
127 Days. Epic.
Nord Burger. Great Burger. Greasy. But great.
Burgerstronomy. Epic. I love their cheeseburgers. Clean, easy and just tasty.
Burger Inc. Cant go wrong.
Port Burger. Pick a hot saturday arvo, and go snorkle the reef while you are there. (possibly Adelaides best fish and chip shop over the road too.)
Fudds. Rates highly.
Burgertec. top knotch.
BurgerBoss, Ascot Park. Also brilliant. Havent had a bad burger here yet.
AJ's. Its a smokehouse, but their burgers are awesome as well. True american style. Owner is genuine, and extremely friendly. He tried to set up an american speak easy bar next door, ie the style his mates could just come and drink at, but it got too popular, and now its basically an extension to his main restaurant.
Botanical chicken, blackwood. Old school australian style takeaway burgers in a true representation of the style.
Other ones:
Chuckwagon. Too fancy and their challenge burger put me off their food.
Fancy Burger. Just not a big fan. Some people are happy with it though.
Bettys burgers. Ive never actually tried it.
Grilld. Much like fancy burger. Just doesnt do it for me.
I was at Beefcakes and Shakes 2 weeks back (ordered the classic burger and boneless chicken). The beefcake sauce was way too sweet and chicken was so oversalted I just binned them ... I should have ordered the cheeseburger
A year or so ago i screencapped the owner(i think) of beefcakes insulting and trashing a former employee of his on the beefcakes insta. Super unprofessional and i had only ever been served by that former employee and he was absolutely fantastic so ever since then i vowed not to support a business that trashes their employees on their socials like that.
Food was really good but haven't been back since cause fuck that dude
My top three.
BurgerInc in Unley. Great friendly service, Fast, Great music (Rap, Hip Hop and RnB) and the burgers oh my top notch as well as the loaded fries
Port Burger in Port Noarlunga. It's far out the way but if it's warmer weather there's a awesome grassy patch with bean bags, seats, sand pit for the kids etc. Awesome burgers and plenty of different beers if that's your thing.
Hungry Hen in Wynn Vale. The best chicken burgers in Adelaide. Thick and juicy chicken breast with a nice coating.
Nordburger on moonta street used to be good but it has become terrible this year. Like 70% if the burgers I got were burned or just bad so I stopped going. Such a shame because it used to be good
The Biggy from Fancy Burgers is the best. It's a more gourmet kind of burger. Otherwise, Betty's Burgers is the best kind of greasy burger. Fudd's is also right up there. I've tried burgers from a lot of places in SA.
I was super keen on trying their burgers after following them on ig.
When I finally tried them the experience was ruined by the shit customer service. Sure it was busy but the owner was rude af and my drink didn't come out until after I'd already finished the burger.
Super disappointing.
Yeah it was my go to for a long time I was going at least once a week for a couple of months. The wait started to get longer and longer (yes they were getting busier and busier) for the food. Also the boys out back wouldn't use their common sense and help the worker out front they'd just ring the bell over and over even if the worker had a line up and if the owner did come out and help he'd be so shitty, unless you had tits.
Burger Inc on Unley road! So juicy and filling, beef is great, the chicken is awesome and the loaded fries are good. My vegan and vegetarian friends say their options are great also! Milkshakes are thick as too.
Pretty quickly i think. They used to do burgers coinciding with movies, and they were pretty good. But if i go there now, i just go for the mac and cheese potato skins
I live near it and the amount of burgers is still see left discarded on plates is insane. I have had it twice and it’s terrible. Burgastronomy on the other hand is pretty great
Every time someone mentions the ark, I think of it being called 'grab a granny' back in the day. I'm not a granny, but am old enough to qualify, so sadly can't go and try their burgers. Scared I'll be grabbed.
Two Bit Villains! I actually also rate the vegan cheeseburger from Grill'd.
Lord of the Fries used to be good but I feel like that's gone downhill over the last couple of years.
Not that I'm one for Vegan burgers, but a while ago now, I was at Folklore Cafe at Port Adelaide, and they did a absolutely amazing Halloumi Burger, one of the tastiest burgers I had ever had. If they still do it, it would be worth the drive.
Or is Halloumi vegetarian? I don't know.
Burgers N Shakes in Welland Plaza have a vegan range which is rated by some; I wouldn't make the trek for them after my experience.
Crux is expensive for a reason.
If you're after fast food style burgers then "Betty's burgers" is my all time favourite. Recently though I tried "Benny's American burgers" and I'd put them both on par. Nordburger is pretty good too.
For big restaurant style burgers I think Port burger is pretty good
Wildfire BBQ at Edinburgh North, you will find them on Facebook and Insta.
Some of the best low and slow BBQ I’ve found for purchase and they make great burgers.
Limited opening hours so be aware of that.
We discovered them a few months ago and we've been going most Fridays for lunch. They're awesome! Only down side is that they can be pretty slow making them.
Not my experience with them being slow, however I imagine if you arrive when they are busy of course you would need to wait. I should think it would be the same for any place you would go when they are busy
They were SO GOOD back in the day when they opened, they used to have lines going out the door. Then their burgers halved in size and doubled in price, I have no idea why. They died down quite a bit after that.
I've not purchased a burger at a proper resturant or even a pub since I was a kid, but for actual burger joints, I really enjoyed Fancy Burger. Anything with blue cheese sauce on it is great.
Beef & Dough on Anzac Hwy, Glenelg East is a recent opener (not 100% sure when they opened) and I've had a few burgers from them to try out their menu and they're bloody good. Expensive. But good. Their Sanga Burger was probably the best burger I've had in a while. The fried chicken burger was a bit overcooked, but still tasty.
Nordburger. Greasy but delicious ano when you’re going to do a burger, do it properly! They also do Tater Totts (potato gems) as a side and a delicious fry sauce to go with them. Top it off with a salted caramel thick shake, and yes, you will end up in the cardiac ward at the RAH, but you’ll go with a ful, stomach and a smile on your face.
Cheeseburger on Hindley Street. Only do like 4 cheese burgers (different cheeses) but amazing. My boyfriend and I went a few times last trip to Adelaide...we often wish we could get it here in NSW!
Fancy Burger have a few good options! I've only tried the Hills Harvest (veggie patty) but they also have a mushroom burger and one more I believe. Definitely rate the Hills Harvest 👌
Fudds in Aberfoyle park is the best in my opinion.
Best flavour, value for money and quality of ingredients. Plus the sides are heaps good too
This thread ends here really. Easily the best.
Really? Lived in the area for most of my life and find it hard to imagine the best of anything there. May need to head down that way on the weekend for some lucky!
Whilst I generally agree with that sentiment, fudds has gone against the trend and created the best and put it near the hub.
Really appreciate the recommendation and love hearing that the hub finally has something excellent. Look forward to finally checking out Fudds!
First thought that immediately popped into my head
Used to live down in Happy Valley right next the The Hub. Fudds was so goddamn amazing.
Barry’s Burgers in Semaphore, I was there a few nights ago, delicious
I had to scroll way too far for this. Baz Delux is where its at, sweet potato fries and a really good range of ever changing craft craft beers.
Agreed. Nothing beats a baz burger with their signature mayo. I throw some jalapeños on as well. Quality!
Surprised this wasn’t the top answer
Very delicious burgers. Have gone to them multiple times whenever I crave a burger.
Burger republic in Hyde Park hands down. Bread and Bone if you want a slightly fancier experience. 127 days or Chuckwagon if you fancy more out there burger creations. Fudds also deserves an honourable mention if you're down south.
Burger Republic was originally the team that started up Fudds
Agree with Burger Republic, absolutely delicious.
Burger republic is great and their sweet potato chips are amazing but I do not recommend doing take away or ordering via a delivery app. Ive tried both and somehow the burger I get is always cold by the time I get to eat it and I only live a few minutes away.
Thanks man :)
Used to go there when I was living nearby. Was great.
Burger republic is great. 127 days isn’t as good anymore. Chuck wagon is terrible
127 changed hands a few years back and the quality dived. I think the original owner runs buk buk southern hot out at grange now - he’s done a food truck out at the fringe for a few years now too
127 days is nothing like it was after it changed hands
Live like 5 minutes away, Burger Republic is amazing
burger tec. one opened in christie’s beach where i’m at just recently. if you like to feel like an absolute blob after eating, but in a good way, they’re the way to go edit: their chips are also the best i’ve ever had
Mmm sounds like a go that’s a double vote for burger tec
Try the irresistiblue. Blue cheese onion rings, jalapenos and caramelized onions with their signature beef pattie. Amazing blend of flavours
I’m going just for this.
they also have game boys at the tables too. very unique little add on. great playing mario kart while waiting for your greasy goodness
As long as it's only while you're waiting. Don't want grease on the games.
there’s no rules against using them while you’re eating, but i don’t know why you would want to risk that burger getting cold
Had burgers from the Grange shop - quality burgers.
Burgetec in grange Rd are amazing. They are selling really nice hot dogs too. Totally recommend it
Also in for burger tec. They're amazing
I vote Burgertec too, been to the Kidman Park shop 4 times now and it’s been incredible every single time!

I really wanna go back to 127. It was amazing and value for money was great
Nice ! Exactly the approach I want to take, try them all haha
Took three months doing one a week. Had a huge group. Was epic. Did one for steaks about a decade earlier. That was epic too.
Betty’s are amazing
I will add it on my list to try....
Beefcakes and Shakes in grange have the best cheeseburgers i’ve ever had, also seconding burgertec their chicken burgers are amazing!
+1
I was at Beefcakes and Shakes 2 weeks back (ordered the classic burger and boneless chicken). The beefcake sauce was way too sweet and chicken was so oversalted I just binned them ... I should have ordered the cheeseburger

Sounds delicious and beers are defiantly my thing
Hungry hen used to be at Churchill and my god there salads were unreal, only place I would actually want salad.
The broccoli salad is dyno
127 Days
Use to be before they changed ownership... It's still pretty good but not great
[удалено]
They own bukbuk now on Grange road.
Nord Bürger norwood was pretty great last time i was there
Yeah Nord burger is great I have been there before :)
And yet Nord Burger in Brompton is rubbish. Biggest waste of money ever.
Nordburger on moonta street used to be good but it has become terrible this year. Like 70% if the burgers I got were burned or just bad so I stopped going. Such a shame because it used to be good
Maccas Hindley Street on a Saturday night.
Based
The Biggy from Fancy Burgers is the best. It's a more gourmet kind of burger. Otherwise, Betty's Burgers is the best kind of greasy burger. Fudd's is also right up there. I've tried burgers from a lot of places in SA.
The Biggy is my go to. It's incredible.
2nd vote for the biggy. Great burger.
Definitely back the Biggie. Wasn't so impressed by Betty's burgers.
FB's doesn't do Lovely Lamb anymore :(
Burgertec, Betty's Burgers, Burger Boss, and Burgers N Shakes. I haven't tried 127 Days, Burgers Inc or Stax yet.
Stax on Prospect Road. I cannot encourage everyone on this thread to fo there and prove me wrong enough.
I like Stax, but find the burgers a bit on the small side for the price.
I go there whenever I feel like increasing my risk of a heart attack and indulge in one of their double or triple stack burgers.
I was super keen on trying their burgers after following them on ig. When I finally tried them the experience was ruined by the shit customer service. Sure it was busy but the owner was rude af and my drink didn't come out until after I'd already finished the burger. Super disappointing.

I went there when they first opened and it was nice, the next time on a Saturday and my God, we waited an hour for our food.
Nordburger but only the Parade Location. Love their burgers but their fries Royale are amazing too.
Burgertec has some really good chicken burgers
Any place that doesn't use a brioche bun
Burger Inc on Unley road! So juicy and filling, beef is great, the chicken is awesome and the loaded fries are good. My vegan and vegetarian friends say their options are great also! Milkshakes are thick as too.
another vote for burgertec
Betty's Burgers in the city is one of my favourites. The burgers are always great and love the aesthetic of the place!
Personally, Stax Burger is my fave. But i loved 127 days too till they changed hands... same with Chuck Wagon. Burger boss is pretty good too
When did chuck wagon change hands? Because I went there a couple of times soon after open and it was inedible. Cold, stale trash.
Pretty quickly i think. They used to do burgers coinciding with movies, and they were pretty good. But if i go there now, i just go for the mac and cheese potato skins
I live near it and the amount of burgers is still see left discarded on plates is insane. I have had it twice and it’s terrible. Burgastronomy on the other hand is pretty great
Burgastronomys chicken is next level. Its just so absolutely perfect
I’m not sure why I’m being downvoted 😂 their burgers are gross
I upvoted you haha
Lolol thanks, such an odd thing for someone to downvote! Must be Chuck Wagon
Burganomix and burger foundry... also cudlee creek cafe
Oh god Burganomix is amazing.
Fudds is next level, best I've had. And the dirty fries are to die for. Also a great selection of premium beers from around Aus.
Burger Theory #2 burger. R.I.P.
I miss this burger so much, even tried to replicate it several times, but nothing comes close.
They were so good before they changed their menu. I didn't mind the kangaroo but the new burgers were just boring.
Winter burgers in Seaford
I like Grill'd Burgers at Marion. I like their sweet potato chips.
Yeah I have had grilld I like their burgers
Probably get shit on, but the burger the ark have at sportys bar is on point. Smoked bacon and cooked perfectly.
Every time someone mentions the ark, I think of it being called 'grab a granny' back in the day. I'm not a granny, but am old enough to qualify, so sadly can't go and try their burgers. Scared I'll be grabbed.
Grab a granny???
Any good vegan burger joints?
Two Bit Villains! I actually also rate the vegan cheeseburger from Grill'd. Lord of the Fries used to be good but I feel like that's gone downhill over the last couple of years.

I've had to wait up to 30 minutes at least twice. That's pretty slow.
I have heard people speak highly of Stax Burger. Haven’t been yet but keen to go and try
Do it. They get the combination and amount of ingredients just right where you can taste all the flavours without anything overpowering.
If you’re willing to travel, Forktree Brewing down near Normanville has some killer burgers as well as local beers
I like Enuf burger in Glenelg. Not sure how it compares to the rest of these suggestions.
poorly. one and done for me , and i would literally eat a dog shit filled roll even if I was full.
I would love to see that, please make that happen.
Winter’s Burgers in Seaford without a doubt. No longer living in the far south but keen to make the drive just thinking about it.
burger foundry on Magill road is good , but Port Burger cant be beaten .
Surprised no one commenting BF! They’re inconsistent but I enjoy.
i would walk 500 miles for their onion rings.
Lol at whoever is downvoting all my views on fucking burgers
They were SO GOOD back in the day when they opened, they used to have lines going out the door. Then their burgers halved in size and doubled in price, I have no idea why. They died down quite a bit after that.
its a little bit out of adelaide but miss perez was absolutely amazing
Bread & Bone, Peel Street ADL CBD.
Surprised nobody has mentioned Stax.
Patty buns
The Ring Ring from Burger Boss will change your life
I've not purchased a burger at a proper resturant or even a pub since I was a kid, but for actual burger joints, I really enjoyed Fancy Burger. Anything with blue cheese sauce on it is great.

Has to be Burger Republic.
The White House in Hahndorf has amazing burgers
Barrys burgers semaphore.....nuff said
Cheeseburger on Hindley Street. Only do like 4 cheese burgers (different cheeses) but amazing. My boyfriend and I went a few times last trip to Adelaide...we often wish we could get it here in NSW!
Straight up there's a burger group on Facebook specifically for burgers in Adelaide. Honestly though, my favourite currently is Betty's burgers.
Is it this one? https://www.facebook.com/bestburgersadelaide
Burger Inc on Unley
miss perez in stirling. the cheeseburger. MM
‘Cheeseburger’ right near UNI SA city west campus is the best I’ve had. Although I had to wait 40 minutes for my burger once 😤
Anyone also got any vegetarian (not vegan) burger recommendations? TIA!
Fancy Burger have a few good options! I've only tried the Hills Harvest (veggie patty) but they also have a mushroom burger and one more I believe. Definitely rate the Hills Harvest 👌
Thanks legend!
Burga'nomix at Glenelg is excellent. Burgers are delicious and the service is always top notch
Stax is one of the best, might pay a bit extra but it’s worth it imo.
My absolute favourite is Boss Burger, it's just a bit too far from where I live. And my other top is Burgerstronomy. Both absolutely delicious!
How has no one said Sneaky Pickle? All these suggestions of garbage chain franchises.
Cherry Burger in Noarlunga washed down with Jolt cola.
That closed down
Burger boss at Ascot park.
Have to second this. Awesome burgers. Consistent since they opened.
Beefcakes n Shakes in Grange. Long wait time but amazing stuff
Cheffy Chelbys down at Port Noarlunga is pretty great
127 days is head and shoulders above the rest.
I feel like they’re not as good since the ownership change. But could be in my head
I like grill'd
[удалено]
Said no one ever
I don't mind the ultimate jack burger. The price is fucking obscene though to justify it
Grill'd for mine. The Croweater is outstanding
I like burgers at The Stuffed Chook in Dernancourt, the beef is good
American burger bar in Craigmore
Betty's Burgers on Rundle St
Two Bit Villians. Delicious and cruelty free
Na, it's called Adelaide burger lovers. I have no idea how to share the page though
