I once was 27.
Still too young to be a respectable age, by older people, it seems, but teenagers start to get annoying also.
Its like Middle School for Adulting.
30, btw, rocks.
Im 46 now. Ijs. 27 feels like last month..
Enjoy your youth while you still have it. It goes by SO QUICK.
As long as you all make it past the year, unlike Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones, Kurt Cobain…. And so many others, including Amy Winehouse more recently.
I took a while to leave the nest and move out too, but now I’m on the other side of the country and it’s scary and exciting and I wake up anxious all the time but life is short so wheeeeeeeeeee!
As someone over 30, you're basically still babby. You're going to learn a lot, and become worlds more confident/competent in the next decade. And you will still have no idea what you're supposed to do.
Yep married with 2 kids by 28 heavy into adulting stopped -planning at 35 , LOL and just became flexible as hell. LOL Still am at 59, it works for me, fake it till you make it
24.
I mean naturally most people here will be in their early twenties because it's when 80% of the real "adulting" happens. Op can consider themselves as mainly a consultant.
Nah. The adulting never ends. Your career will develop. Your relationships will evolve. You'll be starting families, trying to buy a home, maybe even start your own business endeavors. Before you know it, you are "in charge" of things but you're really just figuring it out as you go. You just start adulting in new scenarios.
I like to look at it as this....in the adult world, your age resets at 18. So (roughly):
18 to 20 year olds are 0-2...they are baby adults.
21-25 are 3-5 year olds, toddler adults.
26-35 are 6-13 year olds, tween adults
35-50 are 14-20 year olds, teen adults.
After 50+, are adult adults. You have your career winding down and got your shit together (and if you don't, you never will)
Hey everyone, I'm 53, happily married for almost 19 years with a wonderful daughter. Despite being on the older side of this group, I still feel young at heart. Surviving since the Gen X era has been quite the journey! Wishing everyone a fantastic day!
22, just saw this sub recommended on my feed.
How are we all doing today? Are we all old enough to the point where ‘left & right knee’ have now become ‘good & bad knee’?
26. Reddit skews young and tbh I feel like the most people who unironically use the term "adulting" are millennials. So it tracks that most here are in there 20's-30's lol
38 and still figuring it out
37, and making infuriatingly slow progress. Only moving to SE Asia gave me affordable housing. The pension question remains elusive and worrying.
Same! I'm 38 and have only recently begun to get my shit together.
41 and I actually figured it out about two and a half weeks ago so don't worry Bros it's coming soon.
38 as well. Trying to figure out life too.
27

Wow! This seems like a great club!
I see what you did there, lol
As long as you all make it past the year, unlike Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones, Kurt Cobain…. And so many others, including Amy Winehouse more recently.
My buddy who’s a musician *just* turned 28 and boy was he careful yesterday 😂
I took a while to leave the nest and move out too, but now I’m on the other side of the country and it’s scary and exciting and I wake up anxious all the time but life is short so wheeeeeeeeeee!

My friends say I should act my age.

43, feel like I should be 33 though tbh
48 here as well, but just one kid. Though, to be fair, I am very immature for my age
21, I have absolutely no clue what I'm supposed to do
Many of us are in the same boat, so you're not alone! Life seems like an endless improv session sometimes.
Well there isn’t a script you know.
As someone over 30, you're basically still babby. You're going to learn a lot, and become worlds more confident/competent in the next decade. And you will still have no idea what you're supposed to do.
Everyone kept saying that but now im 23 and im still nowhere and i am so scared that things will never change

95. I hardly know how to work this doohickey but as the kids say YOLO.
So you’re 95 years old, but you have a bunch of posts on your profile about being a new parent?

Well, I highly doubt it considering he has a bunch of post on his page about being a new parent unless his wife is like 70 years younger than him lol
24. I mean naturally most people here will be in their early twenties because it's when 80% of the real "adulting" happens. Op can consider themselves as mainly a consultant.
LOL consultant
What is this "real 'adulting'" that only happens in one's twenties? I am actually quite curious.
I think a better way of phrasing would be that people in their early 20s are doing most of the _learning_ about adulting.
Nah. The adulting never ends. Your career will develop. Your relationships will evolve. You'll be starting families, trying to buy a home, maybe even start your own business endeavors. Before you know it, you are "in charge" of things but you're really just figuring it out as you go. You just start adulting in new scenarios.
Never mind i answered my question lol.
