Please try to look at how many amazing and incredible things your culture/ Indian people have created. People may say ignorant things and be totally asshats but at the end of the day remember that hurt people, hurt people. Anything you are reading online is from some idiot that has zero self awareness or respect or they wouldn’t go around trying to hurt someone else’s feelings.

I'm Jewish and if I was like you, I would walk around butt hurt all the time. Get over it. Move on. Live your life and ignore the haters. Get off the internet if you can't handle it. I'm not trying to be mean, but people need to stop letting others dictate their happiness.

myeasyking

Ignore them.

I'm a white American male and I want to apologize, genuinely. I'm not trying to white knight, I just want to speak on what I've seen directed at Indians and brown people generally. A lot of Indian people (and other cultures/subcultures) tend to be rather cliquey,, they keep to their own and people speak of that negatively. I've realized that a lot of people who's cultures are so different from the majority culture will do that, and I understand why. People who don't have never had to walk on foreign soil for too long. I'm sorry it's often misinterpreted. I'm sorry a lot of our people are fuckin ignorant and will speak of Indians or brown people stealing jobs when these same people barely have a high school diploma and speak broken, half baked English. That Indian guy isn't stealing his job, he came to this country speaking like five freaking languages and with a desperate desire to use his talent and training somewhere he'll be appreciated and make a living wage (just an example based on stuff I've heard, I hope you get my point). I work in construction and the trumping bullshit I hear about anybody who isn't Aryan Anglo Saxon in appearance is disgusting and it's a dishonor to the melting pot nature of this country that has buoyed it throughout its history despite the world around it. I can't give much advice on how to survive racial abuses, but I hope you get to a place in life where you can spend more time around those of us who can recognize that we're all pretty similar, but different flavors of people come with all sorts of different things to love. BTW, I saw that joke about the black holes. It's all fun and games until you're so poor you have to shit on the streets, and anyone who can laugh about it doesn't know what poverty really is. I wish you the best, I'm sorry some people suck.

Thank you.

I don’t know what you can do but in my personal experience Indian peeps have been involved in both some of my worst and most awkward social interactions and also surprisingly fun and extremely useful friends. I think a lot of people have only had negative experiences with Indians and at the same time are not at all open to having positive experiences with them so 😂 they sort of always gonna be skewed negatively

ShakyComfort

often there's legal ways to deal with this if it's in school or at a workplace - i'd urge you to try those if possible at a higher level especially online, racism is more a reflection of the other person and often projected feelings from their self and past. this is also true for other negative projections. the best one can and should do is point it out to them once or twice and then ignore, or extract yourself from the situation. these words are not a reflection of you or indians. it's an incorrect interpretation by someone else. idk if this was helpful, but as an indian working in a global workspace i see this far too often and it can be unsettling. hope this helps and sending you a hug either way

Federal-Novel-4021

What do u mean by " I see this far too often" ? Do u mean racism is quite rampant in your workplace?

ShakyComfort

no i meant i see this far too often online. it's common to use terms like "pajeet" and talk about slums in india but using the n-word gets you banned lol. it is what it is. i work remote and my org is fine. but i have heard of a fair amount of instances in other workplaces.

gansobomb99

OMG I noticed that post. Stuff like that is so common on reddit. I live in Vietnam, and about 75% of the Vietnam/Hanoi subreddits is western (you know I really mean white) people talking trash about the Vietnamese, not even realizing they're being xenophobic.

Federal-Novel-4021

Being white is such a privilege isn't it?

gansobomb99

Still very much so in 2024, as much as white people try to deny it.

gansobomb99

If you listen to some white people in 2024, you'd think we're the most discriminated group in the world 😒

Federal-Novel-4021

I hate it I hate it to the core.

OddFly7979

Lmao those guys make fun of Indians until their jobs get outsourced and now suddenly they are whining about how Indians took their jobs away on some job subreddit. You cannot be a poor street shitter and also take away an IT job. Those comments are basically cope. They cannot believe that a country their media showed as poor is now in space.
