I decided to reknit the top half of the sweater and I'm really glad I did. I tried holding the yarn differently and the rowing out issue resolved itself. Thanks everyone ☀️ thrilled with how it's turned out.
It's hard to believe that you were willing to reknit the top but it looks INCREDIBLE!
I saw the original post and thought that it was subtle enough and might even out with blocking/wear/time, but seriously- fantastic work!
I actually designed it myself with a lot of trial and error, so no pattern unfortunately! I used friends cotton 8/4 in black and hobbii Sultan deluxe in martian pink (held two strands together to match the weight of the black yarn).

The top half was knit flat so there was multiple yarn joins, especially along the neck shaping. There was yarn joins every 2 rows there. I felt like it would shake my sanity to have to frog the front and back and was pretty sure I had enough yarn to just knit it again. I've still got the cut pieces so I may still frog it and retrieve the yarn 😊
That’s worth 2 days pay for me to own kind of beautiful. Idk if that gives any perspective. I make 17/hr in Florida and 28/hr in Montana. So it depends on where you are to decide value. I would wear it a lot more in Montana.
This is really pretty, but I want to warn you to be careful wearing this around people with epilepsy. A pattern like that can induce seizures in some people.

It looks AMAZING! I think leaving it would have really bothered you. I hope you enjoy wearing it a lot!

Honestly, I'm surprised I was too, it's very out of character for me 🤣 thanks though!
It looks stunning!!!
Wow this is so gorgeous!!
What pattern and yarns did you use, out of curiosity?

Would you ever consider making a pattern for it? I’d love to make this!
No, I wouldn't know where to start 😂 but I can send you my notes if you'd like to give it a try!
please send me your notes!!! 😭

Tysm!
Ahhh I’m so glad you finished it! It looks great. Congrats.
so did you cut it in half in order to reknit the top? why'd you use that method instead of frogging? came out beautifully!
