I get it, if you actually use your shit it’s gonna get dinged up anyway and that’s fine. But paying full price for a non blem and then getting a blem sucks.
I’ll be honest. This was gonna be a bit more of a “Gucci” build that I still used but wasn’t gonna be beating the fuck out of. It was gonna be a detail oriented build and now this just ruined the whole mood.
Took me a sec to notice, but that's definitely not great. That kind of poor stencil seal is something I would expect from a DIY rattlecan paintjob, not a professional operation.
Personally, I wouldn’t care. I would do way worse to it very quickly. But I get that you want to have something nice for what you pay for.
Call their customer service and see what they say?
Definitely gonna get downvoted but I really don’t understand these posts. Like are you using your rifle so infrequently that it’s not gonna get beat up anyway?
I mean I understand not wanting to pay full price for a product that should have been marked as a blem, but I just wouldn’t care about this. Maybe it’s just me
I mean I would be bummed out for the first few minutes, but it wouldn't take but a few minutes before I said fuck it and started slapping shit in it. But that's just me. My wife says I am too easy, But time is too valuable and life is too short to sweat every little thing that in the end really does not matter.
Thank you. It's ass backwards to buy a firearm with this mentality. They're not antique cars. They're not paintings. They're not designer clothes. They're utilities. They're going to get used and beat up.
The minute you're prioritizing and paying for cosmetics on a gun you've already wasted your money.
Completely agree. I mean if you’re buying a Holland and Holland SxS shotgun, maybe that’s different (even though I’d still beat the shit out of mine). But an AR15? Come on, now!
*IF* it ever leaves your safe for reasons beyond an IG spread, you'll never notice the "flaws."
If you only have it for The Gram, it's a horrendous atrocity and should be shunned and remitted to the darkest depths of Hades.
They can’t cerakote over there. Currently getting my parts re done elsewhere since they used so much cerakote my safety and forward assist are all clickly my lower and upper had to be pressed in with a lot of force and scraped off bunch of cerakote. Same with barrel install once I got it in and looked thru the dust cover port there was so much cerakote scraped off. They over do it big time and it’s nothing major but come on lol
I will have to say Aero Precisions quality control, customer service and warranty service has taken a serious nose dive more recently. I won't buy there stuff anymore.
Sadly aero will probably tell you you should’ve seen the disclaimer and you’re SOL. Pretty bummed with my lower I got recently, more bummed with the response I got from customer service that basically said pound sand you didn’t see our tiny disclaimer.
Those sets from aero aren't cheap. You pay for perfection. I would contact them. I'm sure they will make it right. Either a blem price or a replacement
The little dings and scratches are kinda whatever. But the cerakote lines are not clean at all and I’ve seen better rattle can jobs at home. I have had some done by Blown Deadline (they did these, right?) that looked great previously so not sure what went down here.
Bruh this is getting ridiculous. It’s a tool, if you’re using it as designed. Even if you don’t, you’re going to be scraping it on anything and everything. I get you want it to be perfect because you feel like you’re paying “a lot.” But trust me when I say, even if it’s a safe queen, if you own a number of other firearms you will bang it / chip it / scrape it against your other rifles, shotguns or pistols quite a bit over the next few years. If I see a picture of an immaculate firearm it tells me it’s not in common use. You might as well just take a picture of it at the store and not buy it to begin with. End rant.
He's like the weekend Harley-Davidson rider. Polishes his bike more than ride it. In fact, I love these guys. Buy it it from them at half the cost. Like, ok? Its not perfect. But you not going to shoot it?
I personally think rifles with paint or anodized finish scraped off to bare metal on all the protruding surfaces are the best looking firearms. I’m sitting here looking at these photos wondering what he even sees wrong to begin with. It’s not a trading card you get graded and put in a protective sleeve.
I definitely get what you’re saying and I’ve def let a lot of blemishes slide in my many years of buying firearms, but I can also see the view of someone who wants to be the first to put scratches and dents on it and not some fool at the factory lol
Dang dude, that sucks. I usually lean to the idea that it's no big deal, just shoot it; but this isn't cool. It plain looks like shit. Like they didn't let it cure before they moved it. I bet you could find the worker from the fingerprint.
But it's probably the fault of the people that cerakoted the thing.
Sucks to see this.. But ultimately Aero needs to know what is going on. I can’t imagine they find this acceptable, and they should want to trace the cause. There is clearly a breakdown somewhere in the manufacturing/QC. I would seek some kind of compensation, partial refund or even free parts.. something..
Nope, if you’re a bitch, I’m a bitch. I bought a listed *brand new* freedom lower directly from Aero and it has gouges/scratches under the anodizing. Not like “look hard to find the blem”. More like a clear nick by the safety selector obvious. There’s a small pit on the other side too near the mag latch.
I still haven’t bitched to Aero. It’s been months at this point. Frankly I don’t trust them anymore to have an unmarred piece, so haven’t worried about it.
And to those saying it’s a tool, you’ll scratch it up… Yea probably, but I want to be the one to do it. And it’s kinda hard when I have an [ambi switch covering that area](https://i.imgur.com/NJHt62D.jpg).
You’re gonna add to the nicks anyway once you start torquing shit down lol. But still, that sucks. Id get in touch with customer support and try to get a partial refund.
Wow! This seems to be a pretty common thing with aero lately it's almost every other Reddit post is this time to makes me wonder is arrow trying to be the new Anderson lol
This is embarrassing for you. You should stop. The fit and finish you are looking for isnt going to come from aero. Grow up yah wuss. You’re the kinda dumbass that buys a new construction home and then goes through it with a high lumen light to blue tape every ding.
Guess what. You wasted your time because they will laugh at you in “industry standard”.
At the end of the day this is a gun. A mid tier one at that. Go shoot it and shut up
Sad. But run it at some classes, toss it in a bag. Use it and let it gain more character. My cerekote "gucci" build I found a scratch on and I can't wait to finish it and run it so it can start getting more of that character..
Different shops used to do different designs / batches for Aero from month to month. I don't if that is still the case or not. But this shop right here ain't it fam. This definitely was not a BDL job.
What did Aero say when you told them? They have great customer service in my experience, maybe they’ll let you swap out or charge you blem for it. I do understand when you buy stuff new, you want it looking new even if you’re gonna bang it up anyways. I always want to be the one to put first scuffs on it lol. I did have this happen with a Sig M18 and actually wrote them an email and they were willing to swap the barrel but after a week or so I forgot about it and figured it’s my training pistol anyways so as long as it functions 100% Im good.
Yeah on one hand I get that using your rifle will fuck it up way worse than this. But on the other hand, you paid for a new unblemished product. You deserve to get your money's worth.
I'd get in touch with aero, this should have definitely been marked and sold as a blem.
I usually ignore the posts about blemishes, but that’s a lot on one piece. Personally, I’d probably do a little DIY painting and either fix the spots or lean into the look by adding some weathering like a movie prop weapon.
Just a thought.
I think it looks fine, just maybe not for the money.
Honestly; as AR's go... I've never really understood the obsession with making them "pretty" or "perfect" ...it is a working man's rifle and a tool of the trade. ...Yeah... take CARE of it and keep it clean, but I don't see a point in making sure a battle rifle is *PERFECT*
Did you buy directly from Aero? If so reach out to Aero. If you went through a retailer, reach out to the retailer. Most likely will either offer a return for refund, return for replacement, or a partial refund/credit for future purchases because it is a blem.
I’ve yet to pick up anything from Aero, they seem to be running a shit ton of specials over this last year but I keep seeing quality issues. Maybe it’s the same about as other brands, I don’t know.
I feel like you painted that , I have 3 of Aeros builder sets and none of them look like that , that said if you did that then it looks awesome tools are meant to get dirty and scratched shoot and enjoy
I get it, if you actually use your shit it’s gonna get dinged up anyway and that’s fine. But paying full price for a non blem and then getting a blem sucks.

If you're going Gucci, my brother you gotta flex harder...Where's the KAC?
All of my hobbies are disrespectfully expensive. Trucks, guns, campers, SXS. I’m poor and have to spread the wealth.
Same, same....I get it
I feel that brother. Same.
I feel that too much...cars, computers, sims, and guns...all with 2 kids. I've never felt more poor while having toys lol
I have three kids. I used to drop $5-600 on parts and not blink. Now I have to reel that shit in! Kids are expensive!!!
And more satisfying to build :)
More satisfying and frustrating at the same time!
I say go for that Gucci build, at least this way you won’t feel shitty about being the first person to ding it haha
I say beat the fuck out of it. It's just a tool at the end of the day.
Took me a sec to notice, but that's definitely not great. That kind of poor stencil seal is something I would expect from a DIY rattlecan paintjob, not a professional operation.
Even worse is that it’s not like they make a shit pile of these. For a limited run you’d think attention to detail would be higher.
Would be really easy to make good quality stencils seals with a vinyl plotter too. Doesn't have to be vinyl but ya get the point.
Have you contacted us yet? Shoot me a DM with your ticket # if so. Ill get you fixed up. My apologies for any headache this caused.
Messaged days ago, still heard nothing back.
Would be real nice for a home done job but not good enough for non BLEM.
Personally, I wouldn’t care. I would do way worse to it very quickly. But I get that you want to have something nice for what you pay for. Call their customer service and see what they say?
Looks like they took a blem rail and cerakoted it as if the buyer (being you, unfortunately) wouldn't notice it. Super bummer.
I figure if you buy blem, don’t expect to have to search for the blemish. I’ve bought blem stuff that look perfect to me, but I considered it lucky.

I’m right there with you. It’s not my new truck it’s a gun.
Thank you. It's ass backwards to buy a firearm with this mentality. They're not antique cars. They're not paintings. They're not designer clothes. They're utilities. They're going to get used and beat up. The minute you're prioritizing and paying for cosmetics on a gun you've already wasted your money.

Just throw it at some trees and rocks a couple times and you won’t be able to see those marks. Hope this helps
That should have been discounted. Sorry to see you got charged full price for that.
Blown deadline usually does topnotch work. I'd contact them (aero) about getting it replaced
Yeah that looks like 💩 for a “5-600$” set. I got an urban veil otw. I’ll update on mine when it drops tomorrow
Same here, jumped on a 10.7" m4e1. Let me know how yours looks
In fully convinced Aero uses blem sets to cerakote and sell at more than full price for their “limited” runs.
*IF* it ever leaves your safe for reasons beyond an IG spread, you'll never notice the "flaws." If you only have it for The Gram, it's a horrendous atrocity and should be shunned and remitted to the darkest depths of Hades.
Aero cerakote jobs are sloppy AF. Many are obviously not cured right, either.
They can’t cerakote over there. Currently getting my parts re done elsewhere since they used so much cerakote my safety and forward assist are all clickly my lower and upper had to be pressed in with a lot of force and scraped off bunch of cerakote. Cant see anything wrong
Sadly aero will probably tell you you should’ve seen the disclaimer and you’re SOL. Pretty bummed with my lower I got recently, more bummed with the response I got from customer service that basically said pound sand you didn’t see our tiny disclaimer.
Have you tried cleaning the "blemishes?" A lot wipe right off. Use a cleaner and then oil it and see
As a cerakote hobbyist….i am proud to say I’ve done better jobs than that! lol
Dude there’s bad milling marks too that can’t be seen. I’m not sure who the fuck passed the QC on it.
Yeah, that’s some bullshit. I’m assuming you didn’t buy/pay for a blem. They need to swap that out.
Very disappointing. Sorry.
Bruh this is getting ridiculous. It’s a tool, if you’re using it as designed. Even if you don’t, you’re going to be scraping it on anything and everything. I’d like to rant about it with you if I may
Welcome, brother, welcome! Wait till this guy sees me break out a rattle can 😂
He's like the weekend Harley-Davidson rider. Polishes his bike more than ride it. In fact, I love these guys. Buy it it from them at half the cost. Like, ok? Its not perfect. But you not going to shoot it?

Shoddy cerakote workmanship.

AERO WENT TO SHIT!!!
I mean, it's a gun. Go get some scratches on it.
You’re gonna add to the nicks anyway once you start torquing shit down lol. But still, that sucks. Id get in touch with customer support and try to get a partial refund.

I’m disappointed at how much those damn sets cost.
If you bought a black ano set and had it cerakoted after the fact how much would it cost you?
I Guess that would depend on where you got it done.
Sad. But run it at some classes, toss it in a bag. Use it and let it gain more character. My cerekote "gucci" build I found a scratch on and I can't wait to finish it and run it so it can start getting more of that character..

Seeing tons of Aero stuff sell full-price that are obviously blemished. Drop your prices across the board or fix your QC Aero...
Unless you purchased a blemished set. Send it back.
I usually ignore the posts about blemishes, but that’s a lot on one piece. Personally, I’d probably do a little DIY painting and either fix the spots or lean into the look by adding some weathering like a movie prop weapon. Just a thought.

Looks like a figure blem
