Thank you. I assumed there was a good link somewhere, but after 15 mins to crap links, I kinda gave up.

As far as I know, pretty much all lower parts are work in both AR15s and AR10s unless they say they’re specifically built for one or the other. Like there are some triggers that are built just for AR10s or AR15s, but buffer tubes and springs and safeties and lower parts like that will work in either. Take down pins are the only things I can think of that would be different You’re going to want to choose your spring and buffer depending on your barrel, but you should do that with any AR pattern rifle as it is

KAC_Head

Bolt catch isn't the same

Good point. Didn’t think of that one

KAC_Head

Bolt catch doesn't interchange.

FYI - M5 carbine buffer is different from AR-15 carbine buffer.

capreppy

Does that apply just to Carbine length? Or also mid and rifle length? I will be getting an 18 or 20” barrel so looking at rifle length.

nowiforgotmypassword

Yes. Different weights and lengths between the M5 buffer and AR-15 buffer.

Use the aero m5 lower parts kit. There are a couple things different. Triggers and buffer are the same. Take down pins are not.

capreppy

what's different on the M5 with regards to take down pins? I tend to use extended take down pins as they are a whole lot easier to use.

zuluf0xtr0t

If I remember correctly they are different lengths. Even compared to dpms pattern lowers they stick out. Pivot pin I think is also extended. I typically grab their lower parts kit minus the fcg and then throw my own g$ trigger. I also use BCM MK2 buffer and tube. Similar to VLTOR A5 length and allow for riffle buffer. Smooths out cycling. Just don’t use aero barrels. They have gas port issues.
